agenttheater5 there’s a contradicting fact, because here they say she gets it from her mom, but in the first season, she says she got it because her brother pushed her into a cow pie when she was like 5 and she hasn’t gotten over that since. But I guess to be fair, she could have been like 3 or 4 in that flashback.
agenttheater5 it could be that all of the reasons are mixed, if I remember correctly she mention her incident with her brother before going to a therapist, maybe she got OCD but her parents and the incident just took her problem to an even deeper issue
In episode 1x02 Showmance, Emma had explained the origin her OCDs, telling she had visited a dairy milk farm, how her brother had pushed her in a tub full of milk and how she had to keep cleaning herself because she felt like she couldn't get rid of all that milk. Apparently the new writers team of season 3 forgot that story. :-)
Callie I think she mentioned the incident with her brother before she went to therapy and she used to simplify her OCD so it could be that she mention the incident becauseat the time she didn’t realize how deep the situaciones was
That incident and her parents could both contribute to her OCD and the incident with her parents could have happened before the dairy farm incident. The way her parents lived and treated her could have defiantly took a mental toll on Emma.
Ok but everything Will said made me happy. I have OCD and people at school have called me retarded, psychotic, crazy, a freak, and more because of my OCD. So when Will said that it made me feel good because it shows that some people do care.
Too much love ! I'm going to throw little hearts up ! Seriously, Will has got it all, he even stands up to Emma's parents only because they are really mean to her ! See ? He's the perfect husband ! One more thing : recessive genes don't disappear through time, that's a common preconception. If so, blues eyes, which also are a recessive gene, would have been gone a long time ago.
I know everyone thinks that this was a stupid way to handle discrimination but I think it was an amazing way to comentate on it. Like the subtle way they slip in "amigo" with horrible pronunciation (and it was a female waitress so the proper term would be "amiga") and then start to clean their glasses in the restaurant.
Isn't one of the things about living with another person that when you invite people over to dinner you tell the person or people you're living with about it first or at least ask them if it's ok?
I despise Will since I think he's such a massive creep and a shitty person but this scene made me hate him slightly less. I have ADHD and OCD and my parents were really similar to her growing up except for the racist part. They made me feel like i was a freak by treating me like a 5 year old and calling me "nicknames" that they thought were cute and funny but made me feel like shit. Proud of Will for standing up for Emma in this scene.
+Art Rojas But it could’ve been even further avoided had Emma just been honest with him instead of letting him guess the reason, and making him feel like he’s not living up to her expectations.
Why is everyone praising Will for this..? She told him she didn't want him to meet them. He talks about love and trust but he doesn't trust her about that?
Everyone is praising Will for standing up for Emma to her parents when they were being mean to her. And it not that he didn't trust her, he was starting to get insecure and think that Emma was ashamed of him. Also, before this scene Emma did try to lie and tell Will her parents were dead and refused to tell him why she did not want them around. So I guess they were both kind of in the wrong.
Good heavens, her parents are awful. Her mother’s hair isn’t even red. At least Emma didn’t inherit their behavior. Also, I googled “Emma’s parents Glee” and their names are Rusty and Rose! They’re even named after red things 😭💀
I've never heard of any German Vikings, only Norwegian, Swedish and Danish (possibly from other Scandinavian countries too), but I've never heard of any German Vikings.
According to a lot of DNA studies, Northern Germans are similar genetically to Scandinavians, and the countries have had a lot of linguistic and cultural exchanges. This might explain it.
It's a subtle nod to the argument the Nazis used to explain their so-called supremacy. They claimed to be descended directly from vikings. It's one of those things that can easily be overlooked because there are certainly Germans that have viking heritage but it definitely is racist.
My Grandpa is a red head so I have that gene in me but I’m brunette. Also I have OCD just like Emma and it all started when someone told me that I could get sick if I didn’t wash my hands and I just never stopped after that.
"Red heads will be extinct." Not the Weasleys
Brooke Eliz I was looking for this comment!😍😍😍
Idk man we already lost one
Sweet Psychopath no spoilers!!!
I did some research for a chsracter, shes a redhead and I also read about the extinction ...
Lol
Has she told her therapist about her parents yet? Because personally I think that they explain a lot about her and her condition

Yeah, one of the cases when the fans remember the show better than the writers@@clailaakaclay-la6611

this!!
@@clailaakaclay-la6611 that would have been her trigger. She would have always had OCD no matter what, since it’s a genetic disorder.
"Ginger supremacists"
I wonder who their favourite Harry Potter characters are?
WEASLEYS
The Malfoys probably lol. They both want to preserve bloodlines
Herminie
The Weasleys!
The Malfoys
Will loves Emma so much!
Jennifer Brigitte because she understands him and she understands him and supports unlike that bitch terri
That's when you know your a good person. When even when their parents are wrong you stand up to them and tell them their flaws, even when your scared

Elhadj Habbouche that's what I was thinking!
Maybe it was a combination of both that made it this bad - though Glee has often forgotten it's own backstories, ie Sue's hair....
Ikrrrrr

Her parents are definitely the Freaks here. They are so disturbing!!😫😫
Tell me about it. I feel uncomfortable just lookin at 'em.
"That wasn't a ginger candidate." Dear God almighty......
Ngl, Will had a lot of cringey, disturbing moments, but this was cute af. It's what queen Emma deserves 😍
Will is literally giving valid points here
They end up having 5 redhead kids.
Ok but everything Will said made me happy. I have OCD and people at school have called me retarded, psychotic, crazy, a freak, and more because of my OCD. So when Will said that it made me feel good because it shows that some people do care.

He married emma without their blessing hahahaha
"I can pretend an ovarian cyst burst. Works every time."
way to go, Will!

And i just learned this in science but recessive genes never disappear, they always come back every other generation or so.
@@alishaviau5538 still depends sometimes with the X-linked chromosomes but I caught your drift
The perfect husband who cheated on his ex wife?

You go Will!!
You have to love Will even if sometimes his a bit out of line
@Callie no
This episode to me was so sad. Poor Emma you wonder why she is so messed up.
Isn't one of the things about living with another person that when you invite people over to dinner you tell the person or people you're living with about it first or at least ask them if it's ok?
Emma's hair was always on point.
god this bit is pure gold

When I was scrolling they did not show up :/
❤will is the best boyfriend ever❤
I agree, when he sings Fix you, omfg!! Cry every time!
But all this awkward moment could have been avoided if he had listened to Emma. She said she didn't wanna invite her parents in first place

Bibi Ojone Smith lie
He cheated on his ex wife
Will was brave standing up to Emma parent that make Emma fall in love with him
