The days of great artists and entertainment, sadly gone for ever I’m afraid.
RIP Freddie, what a bloody talent you had......................made my life happier, what more can anyone do.
These guys, who sang with the man himself, stated that Freddie Starr was, in their opinion, the best Elvis soundalike they had ever experienced. Compliments don't come better than that, do they!
Just close your eyes and imagine is it him or is it Elvis
If he wanted to I’m sure he could of packed up and sold out Vegas with them.
👍👍
I just wish I could have been in a Liverpool Ballroom listening to Freddie with the likes of the seniors or midnighters in about 1964.
I recall them saying the same about Johnny Earl, who they worked with quite a lot back in the day...
I worked with Johnny a couple of times and he really did sound amazingly like Elvis...
I also saw him perform with the Jordanaires and, in my opinion, his performance was only bettered by Ben Portsmouth

Brilliant wonderful love this.
The backbone of comedy a pure legend ❣️
I love Freddie , he was magic and he did Elvis really good , even though he didn’t say the correct words still better than anyone else , rest Freddie
Thank God for CZcams so we can watch these brilliant artists god bless all who have passed love you all.👏👏👏
Sadly Freddie is gone but he will never be forgotten. Such a funny guy and an incredibly talented singer.
So sad the Vicious Allegations against him. All untrue.
With you there lovely man xx
oh yes he was
He was a bully
Smokin... Freddie was on fire...❤️ Very funny and had a a great voice (yes! Possibly 2nd next to Elvis).…sorry cliff❤️ what can I say ..just my era. Thank God!🙏xx
Just a genius who simply loved performing and still missed today. If you were around in 70-90's we blessed with Freddie, Eric and Ernie and Monkhouse and thankfully we can always look back and watch true stars performing which we say do not have today.
What a great voice Freddie Starr had, really enjoyed that song 'Dont' i will be playing that many times again !
Thank you Freddie miss your talents you were one of the greatest.
Just brilliant. Freddie should have recieved way more recognition for his singing he had an outstanding voice. Much missed.
he is. So funnyalso
100%
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Chapter by Chapter / Verse by Verse !!!!!!! Amen
Well, Fred always started acting the maggot. He self -sabotaged for laughs.Whaddya do with a guy like that?
Please understand this is an observation rather than a criticism. I loved FS.He was very talented and a one-off.
An amazing all round entertainer. Oure LEGEND! Miss him!
Going back to 1980/81 I had the privilege to play a show with the band I was with back at that time, at a corporate show, where Freddie Starr was the floor show. Freddie was brilliant, he was very professional, carried all the sheet music for his show, cues written in etc, because he mixes his comedy with songs, he does quite a lot of (slap stick) impersonation's of a lot of singing stars and celebrities, and he never missed a beat.
Band has to be alert, watch for the cue's, which he let's the band know about at regersal, nothing is improvised as one might think, there is routine, and what he does, is well rehersed, no room for mishap, or error, even the standing ovation at the conclusion of his show, is rehersed, and on que. Really enjoyed working with him, with his show back then, a very talented man great singer, and he knows the songs really well, pitch perfect, and can play guitar and piano, knew what he wanted, and if need be, would demonstrate during rehersal, what he wanted the band to do, because we needed to play along with the comedy, be part of the choreographing of his show, and stay alert at all time. A brilliant professional, entertainer.
Is missed, passed, way before his time, because as an older style entertainer, somehow he managed to remain in control of the show.
Freddie Starr was greatness.
Gorgeous! Freddie gave Elvis back for just a minute! What a voice!
I am a Elvis fan for 60 years, but if you close your eyes and listen to this song its Elvis.
Very close to him.....👍😁
Such sadness for his passing, especially as he was alone 😔 thank you so much for the laughs Freddie, May you rest in peace
Well said. Alone should never happen.
I'm 56 and this takes me back years. Freddie was fantastic
I hate to see such talented people end like Freddie did.The pleasure he gave to millions is unsurpassed.RIP lad.Jim.Liverpool.
This has to be the 2nd best ever version of that song by anyone, other than the King himself, Elvis would have been proud, Freddie now shines bright among the Starr's, R.I.P & Thank You Freddie Starr
He does a great job of it .If you can find it try and listen to Albert Lee's version .It's beautiful.
Wish Freddie had used the song's correct lyrics, it was a bit distracting the way he presented it but yes, the singing was very nice.
@@John-ob7dh Yes, beautiful indeed! czcams.com/video/AV6Ve9FgFX8/video.html
there is a video on youtube where he is imitating elvis early days. he wears the white jump suit and hair and everythign. that video is 100 percent elvis voice. if you close your eyes youd hear elvis. freddie was a unique talent
Freddie Starr the best Elvis voice ever if I close my eyes and listen he sounds exactly like Elvis to me, Sleep tight Freddie Starr you were amazing 💔
I was lucky enough to see Freddie live twice and when he sang Don,t i astounded just how much he sounded like Elvis.R.I.P Freddie
When I was young, my mother and her work mates took me to see Freddie. I nearly wet myself laughing!
Love Freddie in my opinion will always be the best elvis impersonator
That bass voice could carry me off to heaven
rip, been watching and enjoying you for years.a great great loss.
Freddie had such integrity as an entertainer and singer - his versions of Elvis songs only add to the richness and depth of the originals - he should be celebrated for his skill and talent and unique vocal qualities - his sincerity, respect and enjoyment for good music and other artists really shines through - thanku Freddie you were a real gem of an entertainer RIP ❤
Freddie always had a great Elvis routine and this is one of his best ever.
It's very rare for Freddie to sing a full song without messing about but when he does it's pure class. One of my favourite Elvis songs.
But why did Freddie change the lyrics?
Just how great was Freddie
Fair play to Freddie with that voice
@invincibles 04 And he wasn't fuckin around between the songs?????? Disgusting!
By
Starr was an extraordinary talent. Had the privilege to see him live.
Me too
Brilliant vocalist , i love him singing and he carried elvis songs off superbly ❤🎤🎵
When freddie gets serious with this song he was quite superb RIP Freddie
Freddie was a huge Elvis fan, and to have the Jordanaires as backing must have been amazing
Such a shame he has now passed...he was a great entertainer and singer....RIP Freddie. The Jordanaires must be the best backing group I have ever heard no wonder Elvis wanted them as his.
Thanks for hours of laughter and entertainment Freddie, Godspeed
Died today aged 76. This was his finest moment, I am absolutely sure this was his dream, to sing with these guys, and it was superb. Loved it. Just beautiful. Rock on Fred!
Al Zedd well said and you're absolutely spot on there 👍👏👏
Yeah I think this is something that gave him most pleasure. You can see it in his performance.
The Jordenaires were brilliant, classy, and would not have sung with Freddie if they hadn't respected him. It's not as if they needed the work. I reckon we witnessed mutual respect. I know Freddie was out of the box on and off stage but he sure connected with those guys. And they with him.
@Jack Brown He was a very heavy smoker until the end, despite being in a wheelchair on oxygen and having a quadruple bypass in 2010.
😭😭😭😭
Nobody could sing like the king himself but let me tell you it doesn't come any closer than freddie star
that sums it up. special.
Incredible !!! FSin amazing, so are the Jordanaires !
What a voice !!!!! Turn your head away and it was like listening to Elvis !!!! R.I.P. Freddie and Elvis xxx
RIP Freddie ... you will always be one of my heroes, we have lost a truly great talent, you were simply the best !!!!
I've be saying for many a year it's the backing singers that MAKE a record/song. These guys are absolutely sublime. Freddie is really good, but so are many Elvis sound-a-likes. It's the backing that makes this stand out.
People dont believe when I say Freddie was a great singer especially Elvis.
This was absolutely stunning. Remember seeing it on TV back in the day.
I'm glad I'm over 60 🙄
Love it. Freddie always had us on the edge of our seats , but when he put his mind to it, he could turn a great song
Oh yes for sure!
WONDERFUL MAN !!
TRAGIC LOSS TO THE WORLD.
KEEP BEING YOU- A CHEEKY ANGEL 👼 💖
God bless Freddie. If he stuck to this format, He would have gone much further.
Sublime... I was lucky enough to see the Jordanaires many years back and they truly were majestic...
I'm sure Freddie loved Elvis and this must have been a thrill for him to sing with the Jordanaires
Just remember Keir Starmer sent this legend to his grave. RIP Freddie Starr... Thank You for the memories.
This is why I will not vote Labour. He was DPP and Freddie, Cliff and Jim were thrown under the bus by Sir Keir
Freddie was an entertainer pure and simple. A time when back in the 70’s and 80’s we could laugh
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴❤️❤️🙏🙏😢😢😃😃
kier stramer, why? im not being polittcal
@@user-eo7rq4yj3t Starmer was in charge of the CPS and Yewtree. He wouldn't charge Savile at the time he knew about him yet he went for Freddie Starr, Jim Davidson, Cliff Richard and more who were found completey innocent. It cost Freddie every penny he had to defend himself.
This guy has one hell of a voice!!
Tango Bango His voice is beyond belief and what an entertainer he was. A true gift from God in my view
@@joesmoke9624 could've done some really great tunes in all honesty himself, this is really great
David Lench Yes.
This is conscious moving and so well done.
Tell me about it. SMOKIN!!!
Rickey Zinn Projecting. Plus, crap joke

RIP Freddie. One of Britain's great entertainers.
Kevin Turner 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
The greatest xx
Rip
Nice & the Jordanairs still on top of their game, it would have been good to see Elvis still record songs with them in latter 70's, they complimented each other vocally to perfection🆗🇦🇺👍
The wife told me Freddie died yesterday. Not afraid to admit that as a 44 year old man I shed a tear. Loved Freddie growing up. I could watch him and Des O'Connor all day.
Not the only one bud I'm 53 I had a bloody good cry used to watch Freddie with my dad when he was alive we laughed like anything 🤣😂🤣
Me too pal..
@@tawasne-uk7393 me and my dad too , so happy memories so much laughter
Me too
What I find funny about this is these guys probably spent the last 40-50 years retelling stories about how good Elvis was and then this old, little, squat, Northern English guy comes along, on a crappy little show on UK television, and out of nowhere just replicates almost perfectly what Elvis could do with his voice. You could tell at the end that they didn't know how to take it, lol. It must've been both a surprise and a humbling moment for them.
Before anyone comes at me saying he's nowhere close to Elvis, well, Elvis was Elvis, but I haven't heard someone get quite this close before.
Freddie was the best. I love hearing him sing elvis songs. He does justice to the songs. 100 % !.
Freddie Star was so very talented and bought so much fun to peoples lives!
Great voice great talent you won't be forgotten Freddie Starr r.i.p.17th may 2019.
I always loved your singing Freddie, what a starr you were.. R.I.P xx
I LOVE THIS MAN!!!! ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL...HE IS REALLY TALENTED IN NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES..MISS HIM!!!!
Loved him. What an entertainer. I have watched this many time. RIP
I go online and watch this clip every night. I just can't get enough of Ray Walker's voice.
Amazing Freddy. RIP legend you were so funny and made so many people laugh.
Reminds me of my Dad. Love you Dirk x
What a Remarkably Talented man!
Absolutely brilliant artist so sadly missed great voice wonderful harmonies.
Freddie is the best artist ever!
Freddie had pure respect ...and i have respect to him.. you sound amazing...
Never heard any one sing this better than Freddy, Elvis would have been proud of him
RIP Freddy
Freddie was a brilliant singer
So was Elvis Presley
Wow. The song gives me the chills. ❤️ it.❤❤❤❤😂
Love this video! Freddie Starr sings enough like Elvis and the Jordanaires are simply their suburb selves! Sing on gentlemen!
Just fantastic the man was brilliant
Saw him-live a few times, he never disappointed us, a comic legend that was hounded by the press R.I.P. you brilliant comic
Freddie Starr and the Jordinaires two legends come together . Id forgotten how great they both were
RIP Freddie. That was beautiful.
Freddie sang it beautifully
Just simply brilliant!!
Absolutely magnificent. Pure class. RIP Freddie 🙏🏼
Very underated singer was Freddie ,a beautiful singer ,l think he really wanted to be a singer and a pop star ,he loved Elvis and l think he got one of his wishes to sing with the Jordanian res ,he has such a strong voice and a very lovely sound . I think he felt lost and alone and sad . He should have had more love and friends to support him . He certainly gave so much pleasure and laughter to us ,he was a one off ,very talented lovely man .you have earned your rest you dear man RIP Freddie ,a great Starr .Paula .
He was as far as I know in groups singing in the early 60s in Liverpool and was friends with the Beatles.
One of my favourite Elvis songs . Well done Freddie ! X
Nice one Freddie, I didn't always like you but you had talent, you did justice to a great man here RIP
This man is what was missing from British comedy, rip Freddie, such a funny man could watch him for hours
I think freddie sung Elvis songs brilliant when not joking around he was great with the Jordanaires backing him

Did you ever study spelling?

What a fabulous performance!
RIP Freddie, thanks for all the laughs.
Bravo Freddie 🌟...... Your Elvis impersonation was always spot on. A great singer in your own right and a truly funny man . 🙏💞🌟
Your energy and talent lives for ever Freddie Starr.
Saw Freddie in concert in Belfast in 1983. Fantastic entertainer.
So sad to hear he is no longer with us.
Loved him. Xxxxxxxxx Goodbye Freddie Starr😢😢😢
absoluley love this
Superb performance and still hits you in the heart everytime i see this . He was a pure legend and always entertained us . Terrible what they did to Freddie and even Benny Hill . Real talent we miss you Fred 😥
He was as a comic, the closed this country had to Robin Williams, but the media as always, destroyed
What a voice, what a talent. What a dream to sing with The Jordanaires.
RIP Freddie Starr.. funny guy and he could sing too..will be greatly missed.
He couldn't sing at all because he smoked 3-4 packs a day.
Freddie is a fabulous singer.
