In my opinion, I don't think that it mattered whether she was overweight or not, because she didn't have insecurities in the beginning. You can see that she was happy the way she was, and it was her boyfriend who attempted to make her feel bad about herself. That's probably why they allowed her to find love the way she was, instead of losing weight. Of course, being overweight isn't good, but as long as she's happy and she doesn't have major health problems, I don't see what the big deal is.

Using the term “skinny” is okay as long as it isn’t used in a degrading or shaming way. Obviously it can be and is used as an insult and skinny shaming exists, however the term “fat” is degrading in any sense that it’s used. Being skinny is more socially acceptable; being overweight is not.
