While I know that people are disappointed that “satan you taste so good” was removed for this version, I thoroughly believe that Bo saying “Swag” in a demonic voice makes up for it.
When Bo Burnham quotes T.S Elliot, he’s taking the opening lines from his most famous work: “The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock.” And if you read the poem, it’s impressive how well it works with the message of this song. Good one, Bo.
After a horrible accident that left me with one arm and serious burns losing my fingerprints, the colour in my eyes and the ability to smile I find there's no representation for me in this song.
freeze frames: "dream big" "dissent is death" "Michael Clarke Duncan is alive and living in Ames Iowa" "god died in 1993" "this is a simulation" "Accept convenience fees"
realistically, I feel like it has to do with context, we know Bo Burnham is ironic in what he's doing so we oftentimes set the expectation a little lower, coupled by the fact that he's already talented, funny, and dedicates himself to what he's doing, so it turns out surprisingly good, which it definitely is.
@@doorshotel This is the correct answer. I am only pointing this out because the comment above mine is so freaking insane that this is the only way I can avoid calling them a total pandering idiot.... Which is obviously problematic given that is what the song is about.

even in the age of "just let people like things," this song perseveres because it's criticizing the industry and its players, not the listeners. Bo's a king for that.
@Halston it's especially rough when it's kids being essentially groomed to worship this industry's products. it's like the industry implants the demand for the supply they already made. media literacy & conscious consumerism are not taught as much as they should be to people, either (those can only do so much anyway). it can all be kind of discouraging, but hearing people like Bo discuss it on a stage makes it feel less all-powerful
This is such a smartly aware song, not only does it poke fun at the state of the music industry. Capitalising on the low self-esteem of young girls. It's all just consumerism. There's something much more sincere at the end here.
thats half the genius of the song. most music is too inspired from other songs, that they start to connect to one another and become just one long, never ending story.
2:18 is the funniest part about this music video that was added and not in the original version, the demonic “SWAG” at the end is the cherry on top LMAO
If I were unsure of everything than this would be the only thing I could be sure of cuz this is so true and I don't understand how some people don't see it, this is what I hear every time a sappy love song plays. Well done good sir.
The fact that I have found out he ADDED the blowing satin joke to the live performance is so fucking funny considering Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had to sit and listen to that shit man 💀
Well someone shouldve told them eventually they picked the wrong career path that preys on people and their insecurities in an effort to make more money. Just didn’t think it would have to be Bo burnham lol. He’s truly the hero we deserve.
It's mind-blowing that Bo Burnham is just now being noticed for this song. It's been around for over 2 years and it's never NOT been fantastic. C'mon people, get with Bo, yo!
Well, speaking for myself, that song was the "weakest" part in the show, compared to Art id dead or God's perspective. But here, with the support of the video to illustrate and the little reworks in the music (like the huge bass line with the ending) it just gets another dimension, and now I just keep hitting the repeat button because it has feelings attached to it now.
I took my headphones off for a minute, when i put them back on all i hear is a demon screeching "Finger YOU!" in my ear. If that doesn't define ear rape idk what does

immediately fell in love with this song, it felt so personal. one of the few songs where it actually feels the artist is talking to *me*
The fact that the half assed chorus is actually really catchy makes this 100x funnier.
'Inside' has completely re-ignited my Bo Burnham phase and I have no idea how to stop it
same help
SAME LMFAO
It's not a phase, it's a way of life
Dont stop it its also not a phase its a lifestyle
Same!
Bo is such a confusing comedian. He provides incredibly serious introspective into society and personal thoughts, while also being hilarious.
+Griffin kirkpatrick Like Pewdiepie ;P
I love comidians who can find a way to do this. It's my sense of humor exactly, serious yet hilarious and will probably get you yelled at.
Julia WolfStar Oh yeah, I can tell you firsthand that that's true :(
You make it sound like he's the first to do this lol. Check out George Carlin.
NALM Didn't say he was the first.
7 years couldn't touch this song it's still fresh
This is such a smartly aware song, not only does it poke fun at the state of the music industry. Capitalising on the low self-esteem of young girls. It's all just consumerism.
There's something much more sincere at the end here.
for some reason this feels nostalgic
Your not alone
+Arturo Garza *You're
+sugar cone YOU GOT HIM SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thats half the genius of the song. most music is too inspired from other songs, that they start to connect to one another and become just one long, never ending story.
Why doesn't he make videos anymore?
I love the part at 1:55 where he's in the background looking at the girl with disgust
i thought i was the only one that noticed this considering the fact that i did after five years
@@czarnaowca6834 same though.
It should have been a ginger that would have been funnier
Woosh bait that would’ve been sad
Is...is that girl Melissa Villaseñor? It looks an awful lot like her but it could just be someone who looks like her.
Why is no one talking about the masterpiece that is the description?
HAIL SATAN 69 BUSH DID 9/11
I was about to
This song hits a spot in my heart I literally can’t stop listening to it
Maroon 5 "girls like you", with literally every possible girl out there featuring the video, is an amazing example of repeating stuff.
Damn straight
Lol you're right, I see what you mean but I feel like this song was a direct dis to Justin Bieber's Baby.
Facts
All the dislikes are armless girls, I just don't know how they hit the dislike button.
They headbutted a touch screen tablet.

It's how wrote this comment
Davis Fritz with their nose
Davis Fritz they use their noses
I haven't heard this song in years and I rembered all the words almost perfectly, so it seems repeating stuff worked.
Man that one line, "SWAG" made me shed a tear. This song is so beautiful 😍
I used the T.S. Eliot quote in a presentation and got an A+. Thank you, Bo Burnham.
Fly The W
What was the quote?
+Parakarry 0:03
Who tf is T.S Elliot?
Fly The W is it even a proper quote?
fallout is life, he's a famous writer
I find this much more funny because my sister only has one arm.
Dark humor right there
Oh no
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
2:18 is the funniest part about this music video that was added and not in the original version, the demonic “SWAG” at the end is the cherry on top LMAO
If I were unsure of everything than this would be the only thing I could be sure of cuz this is so true and I don't understand how some people don't see it, this is what I hear every time a sappy love song plays. Well done good sir.
The fact that I have found out he ADDED the blowing satin joke to the live performance is so fucking funny considering Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had to sit and listen to that shit man 💀
"NOOOM....mmmm Satan, You Taste So Gooood!"😜😋😍😉
Justin: 😐🥺😤😠😡🤬
Well someone shouldve told them eventually they picked the wrong career path that preys on people and their insecurities in an effort to make more money. Just didn’t think it would have to be Bo burnham lol. He’s truly the hero we deserve.
I just realized they were performing a ritual at one point I'm sobbing 😭
@@secretlydarkreunion7629 OH THATS WHAT THE DEAD BODIES WERE FOR I WAS LIKE "HOW DID THEY *DIE?!"*
Based
deep demonic voice
*SWAG*
I died 😂😂😂😂
Amelia Hoffman THAT LINE JUST WENT ON WHEN I READ THAT OMG

Am I the only one who read swag in the demonic voice
why is it that when bo is actively becoming a demon and murdering a child that he still looks so good
That chorus is just so catchy, I have that part memorized
It's mind-blowing that Bo Burnham is just now being noticed for this song. It's been around for over 2 years and it's never NOT been fantastic. C'mon people, get with Bo, yo!
Right?!
you suggest people to fall for what he is singing not to?
I suggest that Bo is one of the greatest comedians alive.
Hipster alert
Well, speaking for myself, that song was the "weakest" part in the show, compared to Art id dead or God's perspective.
But here, with the support of the video to illustrate and the little reworks in the music (like the huge bass line with the ending) it just gets another dimension, and now I just keep hitting the repeat button because it has feelings attached to it now.
im gonna tell my kids this was justin bieber
PLEASE
dont fix the timeline
Bo is our Justin
No cuz then they’ll think he’s terrible
@Some random person that's a meme bro, chill
Finally found this Bo Burnham song. This is one of my favorites
that description is perfect for this video
Omg I just read it 😂
I took my headphones off for a minute, when i put them back on all i hear is a demon screeching "Finger YOU!" in my ear. If that doesn't define ear rape idk what does
OH MY GOD THE PUN
Nice pun lmaoo
*fuck you* WAIT
The first time I heard this song I was driving and it came on so I let it play, had three 13 year old boys in the car (son & friends)
*FINGER YOU!*
*All the boys die of laughter*
Oops
Lmao
*Apparently Justin Bieber was at his concert with Selena Gomez when he sang this* 😂
Michaela R 4real?
@@SonOfGoongar yeah, Bo felt bad afterwards tho after the the concert/stand up. He literally noticed them mid show I think. Look it up if you want
Ikr
Lee why would he feel bad? He’s just telling the truth and it’s not his fault that they’re most of the time, just as mainstream as he describes it.
@@martindkampmann
I don't think Bo would take back what he said but Justin was still just a kid back then, I'm sure he'd feel atleast abit of "Oh damn I'm roasting a kid who just wanted to enjoy their free time infront of who knows how many people"
Bo hits different in this vid, i cant explain how he just does
Terrifying how well this has aged
1:08-1:12
I have seen this video a thousand times, but am only just now seeing this executive guy put away his phone and appear to blow Bo.
I noticed it right away lol
omg his face after..
Same I just noticed that
Aaron Paterson ME TOOO
I would have never realized this. Thank you.
"I love your eyes and their bluish brownish greenish color"

my favorite part is when ts eliot compared the promise of a romantic date night to an unresponsive person who could not object to your advances.
THE WAY HE SAIS "FINGER YOU" AND "SWAG" HITS ME EVERY TIME
