I feel this so much. My dad passed in February from cancer. My hope is that I will stand beside him and praise the Name of our Heavenly Father again one day.

I shed tears in listening to this song, It's difficult for us to think about when our loved ones may pass away, because we always, always believe that they will live on forever, especially our parents. I really don't know how I would feel when they are gone, but I know one thing, its the fact that they gave me a wonderful/best life that I can ever be grateful for. Every year, I thank god that they are here with me, they gave me so much unconditional love and support, to the point where I want them to be proud of the son that they have raise. Your father is very proud of your accomplishments and how much of an impact you have made in the rock community. Your songs have touch millions of lives and it will continue on forever. This couldn’t have been timed any differently, my father recently lost his battle with lung cancer not even three weeks ago. We’re holding his celebration of life ceremony this Saturday where I’ll be giving his obituary. I’m only 23 and I feel lost and frustrated that my family is in this position. October 2nd 2011 I lost my father. I was with him holding his hand when he went. This man was my hero and my world. I’ve never had anyone in my life that loved me as much as he did. Losing him wrecked me bad. It took me a year to get Help. I am proud to say ow that I’ve been sober since the end of 2012. Not having him here still hurts to this day.

Tears! I feel this song n lyrics too- my dad passed suddenly Aug 2021 in his car, after his 2nd shift from work. My mom found him. He was only 59 and the most amazing man I've ever known. Not being able to say goodbye n getting that phone call will forever leave part of my heart empty n shattered 💔 missing them in physical presence is hardest. Lost my grandmother to a stroke 3 years ago. Was on the other side of the country and could only see her in a coma on her hospital bed via FaceTime for the last week of her life. It was devastating. This song definitely hits home. ❤

While both my bio parents are still alive, I’m estranged from my father and have had to grieve for the death of our relationship in a way I guess might be similar to losing him to death. Additionally, my stepdad of 20 years is currently under treatment for a terminal medical condition. I know God works through people and art and I praise him for bringing your work to me in this hard time. Thank you again.

My father passed away five years ago due to heart failure. I laid on his chest until his final heartbeat. Since then, I have had difficulty sleeping.
His final words to me were, "It is okay to cry. Everything will be alright."
I have never been one to openly express my emotions, but my father was the only person who took the time out of his day to simply be with me. He was the only person who was consistently by my side as I grew up. My only friend. The Only one that didn't treat me like an afterthought. It hit me hard. While others sought material possessions from him on his death, all I ever wanted and still want, is to have him back. With me.
My heart will forever have a missing piece. He was the only person I could talk to and rely on for support, even when he was deaf. We took care of eachother. I feel like I cannot talk about my problems to anyone anymore. Others say that they are in pain, but they do not know my pain what I went through. No one botheredto ask me. It pisses me off that one talks about him anymore.
I feel like I'm truly alone now.
Sometimes, I wake up crying.
"What was your dream about?"
"It was a mostly happy dream. I showed him a picture of a bird that I had caught since he asked me to, and when I turned around, he was gone." I have never woken up with tears down my face before.

Loosing a parent is difficult I am sure… that being said Lord willing your father is alive in heaven and you will see him again.
Fighting the feelings caused by the death of a loved one is difficult. We can take comfort knowing the Lord did not create death, it was a consequence after the fall. Though the Lord can cause anyone to live or die in any situation that does not mean that our fallen imperfect human bodies cannot also bring about our death.
Our perfectly just, merciful, and loving God is with your father now. He does not make mistakes however when we make mistakes He is merciful to forgive us and can use any situation, (though our Lord is not the cause of bad things that happen) to bring about His good will for our lives. Always trust and seek to obey the Lord, He knows what your going through and He will fight for you. (May I practice what I preach)

I’m 31 and lost my mom last year and my dad 4 years ago and the footage at end killed me. “You’ll live on in my memory” is a beautiful line and something I’ve said a lot about both my parents since they’ve died. My Dad passed on New Year’s Day of this year and it’s still so freaking hard to keep going. Mom passed in 2014 and I thought that was the hardest day of my life up until 5 months ago. I wake up every morning still thinking I need to check in with him like it almost feels like I just have gone wayyy too long without texting or calling him cause he would check in every morning. Thank you guys for this & you are in my prayers as well.
