Simple , beautiful shapes and lines with nice paint is so effective! No intricate paint patterns, no flames, etc. I would have used other than black in the interior.
the early darts have never been one of my favorite mopars. don't get me wrong. they're ok, but after seeing this one. they might become one of my favorite mopars!! these guys did a hell of a nice job on the entire car. but the body modifications especially, and the obvious quality and workmanship is truly amazing!
@@ScottieDTV my dad and I built a 69 dart gt-S in the early 80s. it was, like all of our cars "a sleeper" it was a 340/727 daily driver, full interior, pump gas etc. it was turning 10.3@137 mph on the street tires in 1983(not stock tires obviously 13+inches wide) but it was strictly a drag car. I/we have always wanted to build a street/track car(meaning for hill climb/touge/road course)

Was totally stunned about the build and the car ..until they said it had a GM Water pump ,now I know it will blow up LOL.Another good film Scotty but you need to try and dig deeper and get the details of the builds ,more like the icon fj build and then some more,gear heads want the details.

I don't know why I keep coming back to this video. This generation used to be the ugly duckling. I preferred the '67-'69. This car is incredible. I like how you try to track down the builder, and the owner. Keep up the great work.

Excellent build and video to help appreciate all the dozens of subtleties which would be hard to pick up w/o help from the builder POV! Little confused on the engine used; they said GEN II and 5.7 at about the same time, but the Gen II by Chrysler never made anything that SMALL! Gen II, per Chrysler's definition is the 426 Hemi family, which eventual went to 572 in crate motors. A GEN I hemi is from 1951-1957, and there seems to be some nostalgia in camouflaging the spark plug wires with a GEN I take! Perhaps the builder got the numbering out of sync because they assumed the newest Hemi is the 2nd coming? If you could clarify...would be appreciated to make an already good video -- Great!
ScottieDTV Follow-up help: Just reviewed the "build" video which you released a few days after this one. It is a GEN III Hemi as confirmed by actually seeing the engine w/o valve covers, etc. They did a great job of disguising it though; note the GEN I looking valve covers including the GEN I type spark plug wire covers. Really cool! Also -- Really liked the build video and that the guys trust you to not release this prematurely....and it gives a great view of the details and quality of stuff beneath the paint, etc.
I use to own a 1964 Dodge Dart and from what I recall, the stock body was all but identical. Of course, it looked nothing like this. It was white with a slant six engine but that little Dodge would keep on going. I traded it because the floorboard started rusting out....
The only stock part on this car is the door hinges...it has been sliced and diced..tons of subtle changes.....lol....But yet it still has a stock look....exactly how the good ones do it...Hope you enjoyed it!
