    Very informative, and let's bring back the lake!

      We believe that the citizens (and council) were never informed of all of the benefits, how could anyone not want the Lake?

      We definitely agree with your comment about the video, and agree with your statement Let’s Bring Back The Lake!
      From what we understand, the City of Frisco and the Citizens can’t afford to have the Lake, because of all the Health, Wellness, and Financial Benefits in the Millions Of Dollars $.
      At this point in time, it would be great if you and other Frisco Citizens can go to the Council Work Session on May 21st at 4pm at Frisco City Hall to have your voice heard and tell the City to “Build The Lake” that the Corps was already willing to approve, and then get the Lake started ASAP!

    I've lived in Frisco for 28 years, population from 17,000 to now over 200,000. Every year, every city council has said Grand Park was in the to 10 priorities until 2021. Bring it back and make it happen. Enough with expensive studies! Get on with it!!!

      @FriscoResidentsCare  Před 5 měsíci

      We totally agree. The council needs to hear from the residents that they want the Lake. Now is the time for the city council to do what’s best for the citizens, and commit to include the Lake in the master plan for Grand Park. Let’s not lose out on all the benefits that the Lake can bring to Frisco for many generations to come!

      In reviewing your thoughts again, we really believe you are so right. For whatever reason the City “Killed the Lake” and as a result “Rob” the Citizens of an unbelievable amount of Health, Wellness, and Financial Benefits in the Millions Of Dollars $ from all the water sporting events and activities.
      To make the Lake happen, you and other Frisco Citizens can go to the Council Work Session on May 21st at 4pm at Frisco City Hall to have your voice heard and tell the City to “Build The Lake” that the Corps was already willing to approve, and then get the Lake started ASAP!

      @@FriscoResidentsCare The multiple condos buildings that were set to be built on the lot at the corner of 121 and Legacy also blew up. It was driven by Cheney's lust for condos to sell without any consideration of the impact of that many additional cars coming and going on an already over crowded and congested intersection

  • @Doom2Marxists

    If the lake park area included apartments, Cheney and other Council members would undoubtedly expedite the lake project. Because, the City Council never met a multi-family development offering Section 8 housing that they didn't like.

      It would be great to have more blue and green spaces that we can all enjoy, like The Lake at Grand Park, not necessarily apartments.

    A lake would be nice but there are plenty of lakes in the dfw to go to.

    • @FriscoResidentsCare
      @FriscoResidentsCare  Před 5 měsíci +2

      You’re right, but none that would be so easily accessible to the Frisco citizens right here in the heart of Frisco, for all of us to enjoy.
      Since the Lake would not have motorboats on it, and the water levels would remain fairly constant. The Lake would be a lot safer for kids and adults to participate in water sporting events and water recreational activities, as well as other wellness activities year around such as Yoga, Tai chi, etc.

      @FriscoResidentsCare I know of Oak Point Park pond as well as a large pond by McKinney High. I know both allow kayaks and no swimming. Both are not far from where I am at but I am in east frisco.

      @@lilcaesarman I live on the Frisco/Little Elm line and not far from Lake Lewisville but I still think a Grand Lake in Frisco would be very beneficial to the citizens. Frisco really does need green space for all to enjoy and wish they would make it a top priority to get it done. I'm really getting tired of all of the land being cut down for retail space.

    • @FriscoResidentsCare
      @FriscoResidentsCare  Před 3 měsíci

      @@terrymd3293 We totally agree that the Grand Lake at Grand Park needs to be a top priority in Frisco and that it needs to get done ASAP. You also have a valid comment about the “retail spaces in the wrong places!”
      Currently, at Grand Park there will be over 1,000 acres of green space to enjoy with plenty of room for a Grand Lake, and all of it Benefits. The Health and Wellness Benefits of a Grand Lake are Tremendous, and all major studies indicate that having a park with a balance of green space (a park) and blue space (a Lake) would attract more people to exercise more, and stay longer at the Park with a Lake, than a park without a Lake. At the next Council Work Session on May 21st, the City Council needs to hear from the Citizens that they really want the Grand Lake.

      @@lilcaesarman It would be nice to have a lake to go to that would be easy to access for all the Citizens living in Frisco, with the Grand Park being considered to be in the “Heart of Frisco”. Also, a key difference is that the Grand Lake would provide Health and Wellness Benefits such as swimming, kayaking, and many other water activities without being crowded. By putting the Grand Lake at Grand Park, you could also have sporting events that would also provide millions of dollars in financial benefits to the Citizens and City.
