You're going to have to have cameras and monitors on that thing so you can see all your blind spots.
You would also think that you would need the front end tip down so you could see the road. But I think that would screw up the esthetics of it.
Jimmy, could you use the air speed indicator as your speedometer? 🤯🤔
Use a stand alone harness and ecm to run the Cummins
You should cut the belly of the plane and sit it directly on the frame. It will look stupid if you can see the frame.
Hey @therealjimmysworld Ias a trucker I would recommend keeping Jack's so that when parked for long periods of time u can lift weight off tires and airbags to relieve stress from them extending lifetime of them considering the weight of the plane/jet
I am an RVer and I say keep the jacks. Sometimes what appears flat is not.. Could be handy... Love your videos and this is an amazing build.
Definitely and in windy conditions the jacks will keep it stable on display
I agree!😉
Haven't even finished the video, just perusing the comments. No way I would get rid of the jacks on the RV. Something tells me it won't be super stable once it's finished.
@@iwantmyvanback you're probably right, I'm sure this is only for CZcams views and the revenue. Jimmy if you're paying attention prove me wrong
I agree
Leave the jacks to stabilize it while folks are walking around. If not it’ll be constantly moving especially if you get a couple 3-500lders walking around. Easier on suspension when parked as well. Not to mention you could wire it into landing gear lever
What ^ he said...
Cut the jacks off. It's an airplane it's supposed to move when you walk around in it
One thing I forgot to mention on the last video you did. I would leave those leveling tracks on it. They help out between leveling and also changing tires
The jacks are for leveling the RV. I'd keep them.
Keep the jacks. You never know what surface you'll be parked on. However, if they are outdated, buy new ones, but you definitely need a leveling system.
Jimmy, I would keep the stabilized jacks on the Rv chassis so if you are in an unlevel parking lot, you can level the entire plane for guest to walk-through.
Jimmy, I'm not one to sit and watch an hour long video but your videos are so worth the time. Thanks for taking us on your journeys. Keep them coming.
Congrats on 19 year anniversary, she's a saint for being so patient with the crazy stuff you do. Many more great years to you both.
This build is as wild as 'Cosmic Muffin', a Boeing 307 Stratoliner once owned by Howard Hughes that ended up being turned into a houseboat. I used to see it in the ICW in south Florida. I think it's a static display in a museum now.
You should've pulled a string threw the frame rail when you pulled the line out.
Always fun to play “What’s this wire go to?”! I do it on my old boats all the time!
omg it is unbelievable how you guys can take what is essentially, two piles of junk at the moment lol, and turn it into what is going to be an amazing piece of art!
What makes this so interesting is that there's also the chance of this ending up in one pile of junk instead of two!
Highly likely
I hope the rev jimmy will be there when the elvis jet is done to bless it's addition to the fleet!
I don't think I've ever seen a build like this one.... and I've seen a LOT of crazy stuff like the car/airplane they use for burnouts. I'm going to be VERY interested to see how you make this work. I mean... what could go wrong? :)
I've actually seen another aircraft RV big as this one so it's possible
Yes, I seen it also up here in Michigan at Galloway Airport fly in. I talked to the owner . We said he and Jimmy talked fir 1.5 about this conversion.
@@62heliman looks like a DC -4 IDK but definitely an old prop plane.
If you are sitting too low and can't see the road too well, just use cameras and displays in some of those empty gadget slots, would anyway help navigating the thing on the road - just like some of the modern armored vehicles.
Absolutely keep the jacks, they're super useful even just for maintenance.
The yoke ashtrays are awesome
Wow! To think that this aircraft was once new and flying people all over the world and giving them joy! 🆒😎👍!
This is a crazy project! Keep the jacks. You man need them.
Hi Jimmy happy holiday to you and family.....your awesome man....your a good example for many folks....your mad smart and your wife is very beautiful....my wife said that you could have been a GQ model...peace to you and your family...this is Ron and Cheryl from jamaica we can't wait to see the Elvis plane finished we know it's going to be awesome....may God be with you and family...takecare.....we will always keep watching your show because of your brain we have learned so much about aircrafts..we will keep watching...peace be with you
This video should be titled "How it's not a good idea to attempt mating an RV chassis to an airplane fuselage unless it's the Elvis jet." !!! LOL! Crazy idea, highly entertaining!
I was literally just wondering when the next part was out. Searched it to see what I missed and found this was posted a few hours ago! I’m stoked!!!
As fun as this will eventually be, I can not fathom
how it will ever earn back its costs... But its fun👍🏻
I also have issues with it being touted as the Elvis jet….he owned it on paper and never flew in it
@@CuZn7030Elvis never Rode in Cadillacs that sold for big money but he purchased. I hear his bedroom/ bathroom will be part of the Graceland tour soon for an extra $1500
I bet it’s already made back its cost in advertising and keychains alone. Did you add up the quantity and cost of the key chains? Jimmy is a smart man indeed; He wheels and deals at a level most of us can’t understand.
I love watching the progress and can't wait to see it all put together. Y'all rock!!! Be safe and God Bless!!
Jimmy, weld up some strut mounts. There are tons of struts that hold up 9000lb vehicles. My mini van weighed over 7000lbs empty. Go out and get some truck coilovers and lift kits. Weld or fasten the mounts and let her rip. You can even get coil overs in different lengths to fit the build.
That tail end you cut of with a little refining would make a geat little shelf and cnversation peace. Think about that. Some you could make and sell to rase some more money. A wing table .... ect
Jimmy, you don't need to add any stiffeners to the frame. Just as the RV body stiffened the frame, the fuselage will do the same thing only better. Aircraft are basically monocoque structures. VERY STIFF. RV's are just plywood and fiberglass. If attached correctly, the fuselage is all the structure needed to stiffen the frame.
The rv surrounded the frame, the weight of the fuselage on top, will bow the frame rails out. Unless boxed.
💡!!
Captain’s side of cockpit-driving jet with RV steering wheel
First officer’s side of cockpit- PC flight simulator-you can simulate flying Jetstar!
How awesomely fun would that be!
Can you imagine all the man hours it took to rivet and bolt that airplane together Good lord.
Super cool build. Congratulations on 19 years.
Congratulations on 19’ and all of your endeavors. December 21 2023 will be our 43’ . You’ll need an Elvis video to play on that old tv
I did not read all comments but I wanted to point out that the RV frame could be tempered steel and should not be welded, hence everything is bolted to the chassis .... maybe? Also if you could use lumber for spacers between the fuselage and RV frame with rubber pads
I wish you the best of luck and might and glory to make this work.
WINGS!!! You know, you could have put wing folds on (like Navy Carrier Aircraft), then when you were stopped for a display you could have unfolded and it would have looked like a real Jet…Food for thought!
Happy anniversary!
Keep the leveling jacks! Stability if you have a lot of people inside and also if you have to service a tire or brakes it's so convenient to use the Jacks to lift it up. Accompanied by a safety jack stand of course. Also recommend Matco Hyperstep drill bits to get through that drilling easily and quickly. Yes the purchase price hurts.
Might be an idea to check the weight of the airplane and the weight rating of the the motorhome chassis. Make sure it wont be overloaded. I would hate to see you put all that work into this project and not be able to drive it down the road.
Pro tip, Jimmy. "Screw Machine " length drills. Saves a lot of bent and broken drills.
ditch the jacks save the landing gear deploy it when you park find a way to make it work no weight on the tires close but it looks like it. incorporate it some how? put mains on each side i don’t know 🤷♀️ just a 💭 thought?
Love watching your videos Jimmy. Keep the build going. Can't wait to see the two pieces become one. Be safe and good luck.
My two cents is to keep the Jack's for leveling purposes. Camp sites are never really level. Neither are Walmart parking lots. You just don't notice until you lay down to go to sleep which is really bad timing.😊 Cool project. I spent about nine years in Georgia working on RV,s and building entertainer busses and it was always an adventure. Thanks for sharing! Look forward to seeing the progress.
Wondering if the "old" jack was just low in hydraulic oil?
PS Silas is a good kid! I love when he "snickers" behind the camera!
A man who's willing to pray on video, a true man of God!
Dude, we all use the good ole standard 20-ton air over hydraulic bottle jack for all things Class 8. They’re only like $120 bucks from Amazon
I would say join all three spars with steel so that you can make it very secure to the frame of the truck frame. you want to spread the weight around as much as you can.
So Jimmy, i was wondering what you are going to use to monitor the RV engine and vehicle speed? You’re replacing the gages with like gages where they are missing, but you still have to drive the thing.
The jacks will help stabilize as people are walking on and off, and if they are there and don’t need much work do it while you can access them all. I know there is a big difference between jacks up and jacks down on my RV. My .15 cents
Shoutout to Mrs Jimmy, she mustbe an Angel,it must be refreshing to have a supportive Wife ,they are becoming very Rare in the age we now live .
Cheers Mrs Jimmy 😊
Good beautiful morning y'all
GREAT your son works there.. He can learn more.. My son was first time a Concrete/Masonry Rotary Hammer. He was 7 years old..
Keep the jack system it will help with stability and leveling while on display for tours.
Jimmy, you can use automotive glass to fix the wind screen, such as you would use on a vintage road tractor
Nice ending :D
Awesome job Jimmy going to look great when finished
A good BBQ restaurant in Venice, Florida is called Gold Rush BBQ on Tamiami Trail S.
No one is irreplaceable Jimmy! Let them know it and give them a raise!
Yes yes
Jimmy...yer Janitorial skills are second to none!
Excellent video. To attach the spars you could weld a plate between the three spars. Have the plate contain two to three mounts per side for the HD truck bed mount/isolator. Then weld hangers/mounts on the RV frame bold up and done. What could possibly go wrong? :)
Can't wait for finished product
When non-certified aircraft involved, It's like Amateur Hour 24/7 at Jimmy's World.
It be funnier dancing to "lets do the time warp again, just a step to the right" 🎵🎵🤣🤣
Dock bump stops for the back of a semi trailer would be perfect
Love your Passion. Bought a Key Tag just now. Keep on Going. Viva Elvis 🙏🙏
Keep the jacks, hook them up to the landing gear controlls
Hello Jimmy- Yes keep the jacks. That way the jet doesn't shake raddle n roll when people are in it...
Those wire looms are an automotive diagnostician’s nightmare looking for the green crusties.
The best barbecue in Florida is flown in from Texas.😅
The sound of the sprinkler in the background was mighty refreshing. 👍
That AC condenser would make a good air dryer for your shop air compressor. Be gentle/ lol or not can't wait to see this Jimmy's world rock's
Things are really moving along.
Awesome ✌️
Hi Jimmy. This is Randy in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I just Googled the Strawberry Hut in Plant City. It’s a good thing we don’t have smell-a-vision. Food looks so good I could almost smell it. LOL
So nice to see @Elvis is watching every step you are doing to make sure his plane will be getting air again 😊
best OUTRO ever!
Great video. Love to see the progress. And that 14 year old boys voice is changing and he is getting really tall.
Hello from Minnesota! Great episode!
Jimmy
My engineer brain says you do not have to spend a lot of time boxing in that frame as the Elvis plane is rigid and by bolting the plane to the frame will make it one solid, rigid, non-flexible entity.
Love your videos, my friend
Al
First stop, Household of Faith Church in Benton, Arkansas. Let's see what Pastor Bob Joyce thinks about it. Don't ask him if he is Elvis, instead ask if he used to be Elvis in his previous life. lolol
Thank ya, thank ya very much
My dad thinks he’s 😮 Elvis🤷♂️
Muchos dícen que el rey del Rock and Roll sigue vivo 🥺
I'm sitting in my office watching this episode and in comes the other Jimmy Webb from Plant City. Wow...what a coincedence!
I would say keep the jacks as they could offer a helping hand in a lot of different situations.
Those long high and low pressure freon lines from the rear to the front are why most class A motorhome automotive A/C systems are useless once the outside temps get into the mid 80's. Then you have to run the generator and the house roof mount A/C to be comfortable. This is going to be a one of a kind motor home!
A screw buster will save lots of time removing fasteners. If you have to drill a small #40 works great. It gets into the center of the screws drive then use an easy out. A larger drill gets damage from the interrupted cut.
I would slot the fuselage to mount the RV frame to the cabin floor beams.
The airbags can be compressed by placing the airbag under the frame and using the floor jack to compress it. When you put a pipe plug in the fill port, it will hold a vacuum to keep the airbag compressed for installation.
chewing gum and Ziplocs I love it this is the best build I've ever seen and tear down
You have my 💯 support!!! This is one cool project!!
Keep the jacks,
1- the frame has some flex to keep from breaking If you stiffen it up you will break it somewhere
(There’s a lot of flex now because the body is no longer attached. What you showed is normal)
2- trick to the air bags is to push them down and cap the line. Install then air it up and install bolts. Also make sure fittings are replaced
3- I would use all three spars and attach them to a 1x3 c channel (that’s mounted to frame) using your rubber isolators,
You can never have to many mounts especially when you are going to be more top heavy than the rv was
4- get you an electric impact from harbor freight. It will make grizzlies life much easier.
5- check all your air systems and replace of dry rotted. Chances are if the bags were bad the rubber air lines could be as well. And check scams brakes all that stuff while body is off.
Call it the RV Las Elvis
Can't wait for next episode, get'r'done
Congratulations 🎉 jimmy and mrs jimmy on the 19 years, may there be many more
Plant city strawberry capital of the world.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Keep the jacks for levelling the unit while parked. Easy to get rid of but not so easy to put back on.
Who knew that Elvis couldn't take his jet with him.
He total-ly did.
😮
mmmm....Strawberry Hut..... good stuff! Try the Spanish bean soup, it's pretty tasty.
Keep the jacks that thing will rock walking thru it.
There is a junk yard calling for deposits! LOL
I love the way grizzly uses construction equipment to a rebuild, wait until he finds out what a Multi tool can do 4:20
Should have kept the plane intact and made it a museum.
I agree but it needed to be taken apart to transport it and it didnt run so he couldnt fly it. There was a lot of body issues from it sitting for years
Recommend retaining the jacks in the event of any unforeseen incident on the road that may require them for static stability e.a. on an incline.
Great prayer!
You guys are doing a great job ! Can't wait to see it completed , Awesome !
This is so awesome!! 🤘
