PSA: Close Your Doors!

The Chattanooga Fire Department is asking citizens to close doors to prevent the spread of fire! During a recent fire, a resident opened the door to their bathroom, saw flames and in a moment of panic, forgot to close the door. That gave the fire the fuel it needed to spread. We see this happen regularly and it’s understandable that people would forget to shut a door when they’re scared and fleeing a fire. But if we can spread this safety message and get people thinking about it more, then it can save property and lives. Also, “close before you doze!” Shutting your bedroom door when you’re sleeping can help hold back smoke, heat and toxic fumes should a fire occur.
