I like how they make all these Nintendo sets compatible with Lego Mario in some way
It’s the little things
@Don Alcalde de Todoque what??
Yeah its cool
Pretty sure that's a requirement. Even on the purely display sets, they still add some fun functionality.
Yes, like knocking the penguin off the cliff
@@StevenJones851 UB
This is the coolest thing in the world and idk why it wasn't monetized decades ago
Nintendo is always a step behind
Because Nintendo didn’t partner with Lego back then. Sure some of the Lego games are on Nintendo consoles but there’s no Lego set with Mario or other Nintendo IP on it until now.
@@christopher32074 the nes?
@@charlesdodge169 "until now" being this past year
Sigh well they do protect their IPs an awful lot. Which I understand but yeah this was certainly a worthwhile partnership they probably didn't consider due to other priorities
Better late than never I guess (as I see Switch getting Bluetooth enabled 4.5 years late...)
This song brings back so many memories.
Ikr!
It brings back diarrhea for me
@@NeverSaySandwich1 ಠ_ಠ
@@NeverSaySandwich1 yeah…
Mario 3D world just came Out if its that overworld theme....(or is it Mario Land? which is similar .....)
Now imagine Peach’s Castle, Isle Delfino, & Rosalina’s Observatory sets with Super Mario Minifigures!
Now THAT sounds awesome.
They could. If they could make a Super Mario 64 set, maybe they could do Super Mario Sunshine or Galaxy as well.
I would get Rosalina observatory if it was like a full scale 200 dollar lego set
I would love to see Cascade Kingdom from Mario Odysey
@@oatmealpng9275 That actually sounds awesome.
If you scan LEGO Mario on a piece in the castle and then shake him around, he goes "Wawawawawawa-WAHOO!"
In other words, an officially Nintendo-licensed product has acknowledged the BLJ
You sold me on this more than Nintendo ever could.
I love that. I now want to buy the set even more.
Big if true
small if untrue
wtf?!
The 3 stages of seeing a cool lego set:
1. "Oh, this looks cool."
2. Seeing the price.
3. Acceptance.
im broke :pensive:
Consooooom overpriced plastic
@@misterwheatley1386 1. Consume*
2. The high price is based on the high manufacturing cost because it’s not just plastic
3. It’s not just plastic
@@isavenewspapers8890 cope
@@misterwheatley1386 What do I have to deal with? I’m personally not buying this set.
The fact that these little details are remembered by everyone is just a testament to how memorable, intricate, and unique Mario 64 truly was.
Bruh the themes from the game play in my head as I'm building, this is one game I can definitely say played a big role in my childhood.
I enjoyed playing with Legos as a kid, but they were never really my "thing" the way they were for my brothers. But this? This is going on my Christmas wish list, marked "high priority." The nostalgia alone would make it worth it, but all those little details just clinch the deal.
Also its exspensive
169.99, massively overpriced.
@@flippeee5 I'm pretty sure they come up with the price based on the quantity of bricks. So technically, it isn't overpriced. Just expensive.
This will b my BDAY gift in March 😁
@@flippeee5 underpriced
Something tells me we might get more Super Mario 64 merchandise in the future.
YEEEEEEEES
I doubt it, it is Nintendo after all.
or sunshine or galaxy
@@jytvreal Doubt it. Especially because they just announced N64 games on NSO.
I mean... N64 online?
The nice way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Nintendo 64.
Definitely!
100%
lol no
No, it would be remastering a bunch of fan favorite n64 games.
@Ur-Nammu Yeah but that’s not a remaster and it’s illegal.
brb buying this
well... did you buy it?
MYSTICAT, IM A FAN OF YOU
Wow
nintendo, thank you so much for creating these amazing classics, your games make up a lot of peoples childhoods and i think your games are amazing
Yo this is so cool I’m totally gonna-
*$170 USD*
…watch someone else buy it
Oh darn SM64 is 25 years old now... Did not notice how old it was lol. Old but gold tho.
It was my first ever experience with videogames and yes, I'm 25 years old now, too. My dad bought it thinking baby me would like to watch him play. Other newborns got stuffed plushies as their first toy. Me? A videogame. And a rabbit plushie, his name's Mips ;)
@@lilymau sounds wholesome that. I am 18 so I have only played Mario games from Galaxy up, but I want to play SM64 one day, looks like an iconic game for sure!
@@deanomood It is. Sure, controls are outdated and not as responsive as they are in modern games, but the gameplay, design and soundtrack still hold up in my opinion. Hope you'll enjoy that huge part of childhood one day :)
Long live this set, it's a combination of my favorite things, micro builds and old Nintendo games.
Also that stop of music at 1:03 is like those moments in cartoons whenever the main character finds something wierd but then moves along
The amount of detail in those tiny little worlds is astounding. I love it.
"Oh, so you're buying this for your child right?"
Me: "Yes... for... my... child..."
Your inner child!
It's curious that they decided to go with a question mark block rather than the exclamation point blocks that actually appear in Super Mario 64. Probably due to iconic appeal.
Other than that though, this is still a very neat product, and I'm excited to see more of what Nintendo and Lego do together.
Valid point
I thought the same exact thing
More iconic, I have a ? lamp
It makes sense. The question mark implies that the contents of the boxes is a mystery, and you have to open it to see what's inside. That does apply here. You don't know what secrets you might discover inside the block, it's a mystery.
@Paul Estrada aw man now you got me thinking. A ? Does imply that it’s a mystery what’s inside, but if it was a ! It’s still a mystery what’s inside but the ! Doesn’t imply that but if the ! Doesn’t imply that what does it imply?
I would chop off my left arm for this, but $170? You’ve lost me
Its lego, and it's Nintendo. Both release pretty expensive products, so imagine Lego Mario lol
I think you have undervalued your arm a bit. XD
I'll give you $170 for your left arm
So your arm is less than $170? That's...really sad.
Pretty sure that a severed left arm is worth more than 170 dollars on the black market
I like how they felt they had to tell us that was in game footage.
I wonder if this concept can somehow apply to other first party 64 games…?
Maybe something Ocarina or Majora based?
Regardless, I am BEYOND impressed how LEGO pulled this off!
Crazy things like this are very common in modern lego sets
Majora would be easy. Town in the middle and four zones around.
@@ovaiggy so clock town tower unfolds all 5? Something like Majoras mask would lose it's charm being unfolded, Oot could easily work with the triforce
Imagine if they did a triforce of (power, wisdom or courage) set like this that'd be epic even more so if they did all 3 and they can join together creating the full triforce that would be amazing
Pokemon might be cool to make it into a pokeball shape with a repersentation of the different regions
As a kid who has played mario 64 and built this set, i can say that this set is amazing! The attention to detail is insane and all the little secrets make it better
Me and my buddy went half and half on this set and we got halfway through building it after 3 hours. Loving it so far!
It creative, unique and a perfect way to celebrate Super Mario 64 Anniversary!!!
This is really cool! I still wish I could see my family.
what
Lmfao, that turned.
Lol
If someday they release the Comet Observatory, i will give them all my money... I need lego Rosalina and Luma
The soundtracks on Lego mario. I love it
Couldn’t help but order this immediately! Growing up with Super Mario 64 and Lego, this is literally a dream come true!
Just got mine a little bit ago, can't wait to put it together! I reaaally hope they decide to do something similar with the other big 3D platformers like Sunshine and Galaxy!
I got mine yesterday, and spent the day building it.
I'm not slow by any mean, but it's a really long build, took me something like 7 hours. Lots of tiny 1x1x1 pieces...
But it's probably the most satisfying set I own.
@@diersteinjulien6773 that's awesome! Haven't been able to build it yet so that makes me even more excited!
I hope we get some other Nintendo franchise Lego sets like Zelda, Metroid, dk and pikmin
Just bought 2! Cannot wait to build this. This is one of the coolest lego sets ever
This is the coolest Lego set I've ever seen! I want it so badly! SM64 has been my favourite Mario game for a months and seeing this makes me happy!
I have a feeling the secret they hinted at in this set will be bowser in the dark world
Oo ?
Thats what i thought too
The "Launch Trailer" in the title implies that this is an upcoming game and I'm all for it.
I have been playing Nintendo games as soon as I was 1 year old and my first game I ever played was Super Mario 64 I still love that game and play it still. I have played Nintendo console games over 14 years.
Mine arrives on Tuesday, I’m so excited. I also like how they sprinkle it with tons of secrets, like the compartment that they didn’t fully open in the video, and in the render of the set, which has ANOTHER secret compartment that is slightly open and you can see inside
It was awesome to build
As a huge Lego Mario fan this is like the LAST thing I want
I want full level sets to the scale of the figures you've already released
I want to build Peach's Castle and Bob-omb Battlefield and have Lego Mario FIT in the set
I know it would cost a ton, but I'm more than willing to pay it and I'm not alone
If there's interactivity with the Mario minifigure, this probably justifies the price a little bit. Too bad there's no dark world, though.
Spoilers
There is an entire extra section hidden somewhere
@@brittlekneesmgee3674 I mean, I appreciate the spoiler but the video itself pretty much confirms that.
The dark world is hidden inside with a bowser figure. Watch a review of the set.
@@codak29 i was trying not to spoil everything
Gaia did I just saw you in a RXD video? Didn’t expect to see you here
This is one of the best Lego set for me, second only to the Mighty Bowser. I still play with it often after assembling. I enjoyed it very much. Please release more of the large Super Mario sets.
i think a full feature peaches castle with genuine lego mario minigigures would have tempted me more, but this still is cool!
As long as I don't have to collect 100 coins in that underground pit level where there's maybe 105 total coins
This is way more detailed then I expected to be honest 😮
that's the beauty of lego. there's a shocking amount of detail in a lot of their builds
Brother, why do you have a Hispanic last name and a Hindu first name?
I bought a starter Luigi set and an expansion set yesterday from the LEGO store! I plan to hopefully collect every single set. I’m really excited about the block one, too!
Such a cool set! But that is no SURPRISE! :)
lego death star: finally a worthy opponent are battle will be legendary
Tai Lumg.
Can Confirm...this is the greatest Lego set I've ever had the pleasure of assembling. Well Done!
Just ordered one! Can't wait for it to get here!
Can’t wait to get it!
Anyone else ever so slightly bothered that Bob-omb Battlefield is on the wrong side of the castle (should be on the left).
Just finished building this and super happy with it :)
Excitedly awaiting for speedruns of this
I really like how Nintendo gives love and attention to their older masterpieces, it just goes to show how much they care about their creations. That's why they take it so personal when others try to steal and copy their works of art.

Can we have sets based off DKC and Fire Emblem Three Houses?
I’d be down for a Garreg Mach set or a set based off Lost Mangroves
Dkc might happen or at least get a mario set fire emblem I highly doubt
Zelda is possible but u likely in fact I think the only reason we got mario sets was because Nintendo wants to do something different with Lego rather then the mundane sets people are familiar with which is why this is miniature rather then the traditional style Lego sets
I could see a triforce piece set where like this ? block could have 4-5 compartments with miniatures of key locations from the series like temple of time, (oot) skyloft, (ss) hyrule castle, (botw) forsaken fortress, (ww) Link's house (alttp) first pannel and cave of the original loz or a dungeon
Or perhaps it might be focused on a singular game within the series like the ? Block is focused on sm 64
Nintendo + LEGO = best collaboration of all time!

this man: lets see what is it!
browser:oh hello ther
this man:nope *closes*
This looks amazing!
This looks awesome! Imagine if it had a Luigi...
a step in the right direction! now maybe we can get larger dioramas without gimmicks
This is the coolest thing ever, and I got it as my Christmas present!!
I would of been so excited if this came out when I was kid. Played this game all the time (still play it with that All-Star collection), bringing back memories.
This looks amazing! Hopefully I can get this for Christmas! :D
Did you get it?
Ordered mine! excited to build it!
"what else will u discover?"
*opens lid to mouth with fangs*
*closes*
As cool as this is, my brain still screams "There are no '?' blocks in Mario 64! They were '!' blocks!"
Why is no one talking about the secret thing I want this set cause 1. It’s cool 2. it has a secret
Ironically Mario 64 is one of the only main line mario games without the question mark block.
Just bought mine, can't wait to build this!!!
They need Zelda Legos. I’d get that in a heartbeat.
“please, _please_ give use normal mario lego minifigures”
“here’s 3 1x1 plates figure it out”
That is most amazing to see this pack of coolness.
Super mario 64 didn't have question blocks, it would be more iconic with the exclamation blocks.
Why is it a ? Block when they weren't in 64 though 🤦 Should have been the Wing Cap Box.
Or metal/invisible cap block
And Lego continues to not make an actual Mario Lego set with minifigures, presumably because they are cripplingly allergic to my money.
Got this for Christmas, it’s a wonderful set
that looks so amazing

Can’t wait for the year 2040 to get the Mario Odyssey Lego set!! 💪🏻
I had so much fun building this
The price is worth it for this masterpiece
This is not Super Mario 64 Lego
That there is nostalgia in a box. And I aint complaining
0:17 notice how they are showing footage of super Mario 3d all stars even tho it was limited
They still remember it's existence
Just picked mine up yesterday. Will look great next to my nes
Whoever designed this set did an amazing job!
Its soooooo futuristic definitely ordering this thing
thats actually sick. Can't wait to spend another 500 dollars on this thing!
*$170
this is so small and a epic collab
I’m SO making this my BDAY gift on March 😁
Finally, now I can throw baby penguins off a cliff in Lego form
Nostalgia overload
I used to play this game a few years ago when I was 10-11 in the summer of 2019 and 2020 and I barley reamber it but I reamber the summers perfectly and I miss them.
Bro same, are you also 14?
Wow. This is really impressive!
PLEASE do more sets like this Nintendo and Lego. I'll buy every single one
Mariooo yess I've been waiting for this. Lol this Lego set is the dream. God I would die for a Comet Observatory Lego set as well! : )
I tried to make a comet observatory, but those dang curves are not designed for lego... (minifig scale, mini may work.)
Hopefully Sunshine and Galaxy next!
I'm so satisfied with the amount of subscribers Nintendo has
FINALLY, SOME MARIO 64 MERCH!
Best part is that they don’t even look like that in Mario64. But in all seriousness, that looks awesome.
the best part is that lego Mario is compatible but expensive and now we can kick dat baby like in the game and its stars
I'm so excited this is actually happening
