My issue with that is that Jon would have got it as well if the rules permitted it. But Jon followed the rules so he didn’t.
You know he actually had the digits there, too. He had a 3 for 10³, and a 2 for 5².

you add the 1 to the 2, multiply by the 3 to get 9

It’s because he didn’t use all the numbers. He should’ve divided the 950 by the remaining 1 then points would’ve been obligatory
Whats funnier is that Rob said he got 24 by adding them all and even that was wrong as the answer is 23

@@MJKFanatic No you don't have to use all the numbers but you are not allowed to use to the power of such as squared or cubed, which is why he didn't get the marks. It was very cool maths though!

I think it rather came from a place of annoyance that someone was getting praise for quite basic math that Jon probably could have done as well if the rules allowed it

Richard is the one person I've seen who doesn't get angry, he just gets mildly annoyed. If anyone tried to seriously piss him off they would be met with a stern "how dare you!" and that'd be that.
