    Super video Dennis - as always. So good to see that even in Denmark - where most birds are somewhat gray and brownish - there is a colorful bird like the kingfisher.

    Hermosas imágenes con diferentes equipos. Sabios consejos que también comparto, hay tanto material suelto que no hace falta cortar nada. Un saludo.

    Great tips and wonderful photos! I'd like to add that this works very well on the coastline too, if they're overwintering over saltwater, like they do where I'm at. I've had lots of success even without camo once the individual bird gets to know you, they're quite bold and inquisitive if you're patient.

    Super video Dennis. Kingfishers are beautiful birds. I also did a video about them on my channel. Anyway great job😀

    Some great shots in variable light. What would you say the optimum light conditions would be for kingfishers given they are quite a contrasty bird, colour wise..

    • @DennisJacobsenWildlife
      @DennisJacobsenWildlife  Před rokem +1

      Thanks 😁 morning or late afternoone .. maybe a little overcast .. the colors change so much on this bird depending on the light and angles 😁 i think it would be soft overcast early day but still plenty light would be my prefered situation 📷📽

      @@DennisJacobsenWildlife Cheers, yes I'd agree. I am going to start observations on my local birds, and see what patterns they perform, and set up accordingly. Thanks for the video, look forwards to future videos..

      Thanks and yes i think you are right 😂 next session i will double up the camo and hide a little better! they are so shy

      @ijsvogels_nl Před rokem +1

      @@DennisJacobsenWildlife What can help a bit is to keep yourself and the hide as low as possible, the lower the less they are suspicious. And in the most ideal situation you let the hide there for days, but it depends on the location if that is possible. I shot a lot of them laying on the ground at the bank of streams/rivers, close to up less than 2 meters.

    Great video! I was amazed to see how slow the shutter speed was on many of those photos. Aren’t you getting a lot of motion blurred photos at 1/125 or 1/250??

    • @DennisJacobsenWildlife
      @DennisJacobsenWildlife  Před rokem

      Thanks 😁 i was using a tripod in my hide, but yes not all where sharp 😁 i just shoot plenty 😎

    • @janwedek
      @janwedek Před rokem +1

      @@DennisJacobsenWildlife makes sense. I actually learned from this that ISO does not just affect noise but also dynamic range quite dramatically. I wasn’t really aware of it. I will definitely keep a closer eye on this. DXO and Topaz can deal with the noise, but they cannot magically regain dynamic range

      @@janwedek You are right Jan 😁 but i goes in the right direction with development of better and better gear for low light shooting!

    Very helpful video, thank you.
    Do you have a preferred time to capture your images of the kingfisher ?
    To me on my few attempts they are more active mid morning but seem to disappear at sunset.
    Thanks again.

    Har du några tips /Video hur man kan filma Common Buzzard? Det finns många här med de flyger direkt när man kommer nära.

    • @DennisJacobsenWildlife
      @DennisJacobsenWildlife  Před rokem

      Fodring og skjul/camo tror jeg er måden at gøre det på .. man kan selvfølgelig være heldig med de fede nærskud skal nok være fra skjul 😀 måske Friskens hvis du kender det?
