      Get rid of your dry dog food if you're feeding this. It has a lot of toxins in it because the cook it at such high temps.
      That's one of the chief causes of allergies.

      Apple cider vinegar seems to draw those small flies to the dog....it’s also what I use in bowls on the counter to kill fruit flies..ASV,bit of dish soap,in a bowl of water attracts the fruit flies

    I have to say you are my savior. My little girl has terrible allergies, she licks her paws 24/7, she sleeps with me so our nights are not very relaxing. I tried many things, the green tea wash, the ACV wash, and many of the other things you suggested, with not much of success, but today I tried the sunflower oil, MIRACLE!!! Something so simple, she is resting now and she didn’t licked her paws since then. Thank you for sharing all this homemade remedies with us.

    I had a dog die in a fire because he was put on prednisone because of extreme allergies. His personality changed from a sweet loving dog to one terrified of the very people that tried to save his life. Prednisone is something I'll never allow anyone to be on again including people. I use acv (weak solution inly)to help prevent indigestion (orally) and
    itching (topically) from rashes. D3 is a must. Would never be without it. Another great topic, doc. My pack loves you, (all 4 of us).

    • @KassiusFineArt
      @KassiusFineArt Před 6 měsíci

      Organic turmeric with black pepper is better than Prednisone & dogs can take it, too. Must be on a full stomach or else it will upset the stomach. Black pepper increases absorption 2,000 %.

      Get a nebulizer to do saline treatments, which will help clear out congestion. Cats are prone to upper respiratory issues. Lysine is a supplement which might help as well. I have adopted 2 blind kittens, who lost their eyes due to upper respiratory infections which damaged their eyes so badly they had to be removed. I have them on lysine twice a day, and use Strawfield Pets brand along with their probiotic powder, and put it on their wet food.

      Feed canned sardines in water, no salt added. One sardine per 20lbs body weight. Perfect amount, plus plenty of Omega 3’s too.

      You have to have bloodwork to check what your vit d level is. Your doctor has to check it. Vit d builds in your body, it does not flush out so it builds up and can be toxic if you have too much. That applies to people and animals.

    My dog gets his allergy symptoms in his ears. He already takes 10mg of melatonin to sleep and is 30lbs. Less doesn't work for him as he is a high strung dude, the 10 doesnt knock him out either, just means he doesnt bark at everything all night. Anyway, can the topical things be applied to his ears? He gets yeast infections in his ears and they have required steroids. to clear up. It is sad bc he gets them so often. I use canesten for him since his first diagnosis and it works.
    Second, for things like vitamins or supplements, can he take the gummy version and get the same effects? He is NOT food motivated but has a sweet tooth like he is a human toddler. I mean, this dog will turn down a steak if he can have a gummy bear instead... He is so weird! So there is no way I can get him to take something like the cod liver oil bc it's not sweet. We fight a TON over his refusal of dog food. He is so picky!!!
    Thanks for any help!!

      Try mega red krill oil. Our dog is crazy about it. Dr. Jones has recommended krill oil which is why we tried it. Also, took 10 milligrams of melatonin myself. Found out less is more so I started taking 1 milligram and slept soundly. Have seen information that melatonin does work better in small doses. Hard to believe!!

    How about cats with allergies? She’s allergic to dust mites, storage mites & other environmental allergies. She might as well be allergic to oxygen… and she can’t play for five minutes without stopping to scratch. Her skin is very dry. We have to give Mya cyclosporin every day and an allergy shot every week. Not only does she hate the shots, all this medication costs a fortune!!!
