The vet diagnosed my eight year old rescue dog with atopic dermatis last fall. The medication bought from my vet did little to aleviate his issues, but it did cause some worrysome side effects. After many attemps to determine the cause, I recently changed his food to single protein (duck/lentils) grain free (Nutrisource Vita) He used to eat salmon/sweet potatoe - grain free until I watched a documentary on farmed salmon (contamination). He is doing much better - no more ear infections/hot spots and itching. I admire your bravery in the face of the "big pharma".

Food sensitivities.... (US food intolerence, the test is only 45$) I did a food sensitivity test and she was sensitive to EVERYTHING she was eating. Chicken, beef, turkey, carrot, peas, white rice, sweet potato, oatmeal. I found a limited ingredient food and shes doing great! No more red, raw paws, no more itching! It took around 3mos to fully clear up, so be patient....

My dog chews his paws after his walk. After ruling out other options, I concluded my dog has contact dermatitis allergy to a grass. Timothy is probably the culprit.
As soon as we come in from a walk, I wash his paws with water and a mild soap, then rinse and dry. He no longer chews his paws.

My dog ( a miniature poodle) was having TERRIBLE allergies after her last vaccines in May. ( won’t be doing that again!) she was itching horribly and even her fur was coming off of her paws and feet
We started giving her Ivermectin- three days ago her skin is no longer red and horribly inflamed! She is no longer licking and biting her paws and feet! It’s even decreased her yeasty ears and paws.
I bathe her with a shampoo I made ( 1 cup green tea, 2 Tblsp apple cider vinegar, 2 Tbsp of baby Castile Shampoo. I bathe her with this twice weekly when she was itching the most, other wise only once weekly .
I can hardly believe how amazing Ivermectin works in bringing down the severe inflammation she was suffering with.

My dog has been great free of ear infections since I changed his food the big difference from the last food was the food I have him on now is potato free both white and sweet potato free as well as grain free. The protein is is white fish instead of salmon that was more less a cost cutting on my part but I think the white fish still does good. It also contains flaxseed as the 3rd or 4th ingredient but a put about a shot of flaxseed oil in the kibble as well. Flaxseed oil is also relatively cheap it's a cheaper alternative to fish oil. Also my mums dog has been doing great since I put him on 95% curcumin before I got him on it he had the hardest time getting around with his bad hips. Im greatful for this channel it's helped 2 dogs.

The shelter already had him scheduled for the surgery to remove his ear canal :( I talked them out of it, took him to my personal vet and a dermatologist. @katk3381 not sure if this question was meant for me or the other person, but at the time I was feeding my dog Boreal grain free while fish. He had been doing great on it, however I've had to change his food once again because Boreal raised their prices and I can't afford that food anymore, partly because I got another dog it's just too expensive. I now feed my dog First Mate with Lamb I've also took a chance with the grain friendly version because I don't exactly know if he has a grain allergy or if the breader just said feed him grain free as a way to be on the safe side. But I thought we'll the breeders I got my other dog from had her on a food with grains and chicken as the protein that may as well keep it that way she's had zero ear infections and she's almost a year old. The only difference with my one dog that had the ear infections is his protein is lamb but its still grain friendly I know for a fact he's allergic to chicken, so his is lamb

Yes, i can back this up. My dog gets itchy in the summer and spring. Only started last year as she was getting older. Last year was awful but this year i was prepared. Fish oil works amazing but please remember it takes at least three weeks to build up in their system so start it early long before itching season starts. Also used quercetin. Use ear wash if they get waxy build up or itchy ears. Use it for a week and then every other day for one more week. Johnsson itch spray is cheap and helps their itchy paws. Antihistamines work a little. They're not amazing but do offer some relief.

aproquel works. I’m retired and paying out $220.00 for a 100 tablets 3.6 mg. It’s certainly a strain on my budget.
Fingers crossed that I can go your route. Hopefully it will be a win, win situation. Tku. 🐶

When my puggle, Bella gets really itchy- I put her in the tub & run a warm bath. I add about 2 C. of Baking Soda. I use a big cup to just stir the water & scoop it -pour it over her... I just sit w/ her & keep her in there as long as I can, scooping the water over her. Then o take her out & dry her. NO RINSE.
It really works short term. & lasts about a day- no itching.
Thanks for another great video, Doc.
Good to see you’ve recovered from your fall. That was a pretty bad fall... really glad you’re ok.
Love & Light to you & your family.

Have you ever tried rinsing with ACV/water mix? After bathing I always rinse my little dogs with 1/4c ACV into about a 16 oz container of water. It helps with skin issues, repels fleas (flea meds make my dogs skin super itchy), stops itching. May take doing it a few times to see results.

Same as mine, my 2 small breed dogs are on Apoquel for quite awhile. It helps soothes the itching and redness but overall once you stop using it. It go back like you are back to zero again, but I don't want that kind of life for them because I heard that using apoquel for a very long time is toxic and not a very good decision. So as far as I could, I research and came across this video so I will try this, I even started it yesterday. Hope it works since my dogs allergy occurred last December 2021 and I want to cure it all at once since my dogs ear are inflamed from food allergies.

I think the plant sterols Dr Jones supplements are flaxseed based not pine and not grape seed. Grape seeds are dangerous for dogs. It's hard to see that bottle that he has in the video but I found it on Amazon however the doses on the back are much higher than the suggested ones in video. So, I'm a bit concerned about that product for such reasons. The bottle shows that it's good for cholesterol.
