That tea table is cool - the demonstration lady has her tea thing down. I liked the part with pouring the hot water on the pot and in it. So scientific.

This is really great. It is the first I've seen that covers all of the different brewing styles in a single video. Thank you for sharing this!

Awesome video! I just love the lady doing the demonstration! Her voice, her mannerisms, her wording, just everything... she seems so warm and a genuinely, truly nice person :)

Really ? I find the wording unbearable and mighty irritating . Now don't get me wrong i am not insulting her , it is difficult to learn and master the language of another country , it took me years to learn Chinese and Japanese , but i remember that in China no matter how well i tried to pronounce words, i was being made fool of by the locals to the point that i hired a professional private Chinese teacher who spent over a year teaching me the proper pronunciation and even after he told me that now my accent was practically indistinguishable from a local , i was still made fool of by people who even told me that non Chinese just hadn't the brain capacity to learn the language . In Japan it was the absolute opposite, not matter how bad my pronunciation was , Japanese people always warmly and sincerely congratulated me on my effort and perseverance and urged me not to give up . Maybe that is why i stayed 6 years in China and 20 years in Japan .
I think this lady is lucky to live in a country where people are not going to make fun of her efforts , the way people from her country (though i think she is Taiwanese, not Chinese) make fun of foreigners .

Lighter teas want a lower brewing temperature than darker ones. Herbals seem to want a very high one. That is what articles mostly say although one writer denied that this was true and experimented at different temperatures with all of them. I am not sure why that would be and how true it really is

You can use the hot water to wash the cups ? You mean the cups aren't clean ?

I'll never quite get why Chinese and Japanese teapots are so small. I know it's to release more flavours, but even when I drink Gyokuro I make it in an amount of 50 cl. I like to really drink tea, not just sip and taste.

Gongfu brewing is about tasting all of the layers, complexity, and nuances of the tea. When you just drink tea in large quantities, it's really difficult to actually taste and appreciate all aspects of the tea (in my opinion of course). It ultimately comes down to personal taste though :)

Can you brew any tea in any method? I mean, for example, can you make Oolong tea with that "one cup" method?
