I hope you’re enjoying the editing! Give it a thumbs up 👍🏼
Will this work in Luminar AI?
Giving it a go, just submitted!
This is a great opportunity Nigel and very glad that this time you had one of the images in DNG format as my older version of Lightroom wouldn't process the NEF files 👍
From a learning perspective, would love to not only see the best edits, but maybe a few that were good except for 1 or 2 things that could have put it over the top.
Hi Nigel. I think this is a really useful exercise for people new to editing. However, I don't use Lightroom or Photoshop but Gimp with Nik plugins. Your raw filetypes aren't supported by Gimp so I am having to convert these to tiff first. Unfortunately this does seem to affect exposure/brightness so my starting images are not the same as your raw files . Is there any chance of sending out your files as tiffs (which seems to be supported by most post processing software) to start with or would these not be of high enough quality?
Nigel, what I love about watching your videos is that you demonstrate and teach. Not like a lot of other photographers on CZcams that are a lot of talk. Yours are truly educational! Thank You!
Thank you again, Nigel. You deliver my Sunday night inspiration and motivation.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this Nigel, the Keystrokes really helped. Made notes.
Thank you very much. Just being able to see a RAW file from a photographer such as yourself which allows me to compare your starting point to my starting point has been invaluable.
Awesome set of tips and strategies for using Lightroom and Photoshop more effectively for landscape photos! Thanks for sharing some of your inspirational raw photos to experiment with to help us put these tips into action!
Wow! I was inspired by your tip on opening two files as layers in photoshop and using the brush tool and mask, to create one spectacular image and I’m pleased with my successful resulting new image, bringing a couple of my ‘ok’ images into another realm...
I love learning new things and putting them into practice and feel we are all capable of learning new things, no matter what age, or what our level of photography we are at, or how long we’ve been capturing images.
Thank you so much for your videos, Nigel.
All great tips Nigel. Hope everyone is safe in lockdown over there.
This is what my lockdown needed. Home schooling out of the window, cracking on with this. Thanks Nigel.
Holy smokes!!! This is a game changer video for me, Nigel! Using a grad filter to cover entire image and then being able to use range masks is genius. This negates the use of PS in most cases unless preferred. Thank you for this
Thanks Nigel. These are some fantastic tips. Helps to inspire my imagination. Look forward to this every week.
It’s always very special and enjoyable for me to listen and learn from you Nigel, I admit that I play around with my colours, I’m learning slowly, I’m allowed to go slow, I turned 75 a couple of weeks ago, I’ll put on my go faster boots. Keep up your teaching ideas Nigel. Thank you.
Great tips Nigel thank you! Beautiful photos as always!
Thanks for these helpful tips and the idea to hone these skills while stuck inside. Providing links to more detailed videos is a great idea!
Thanks for sharing these tips Nigel!
Great top level outline of key skills to master, along with the rationale to motivate investing the time and effort to master them, and links to further resources in the notes to boot. Thanks!
Amazing Video, as always Nigel! This is actually bringing my editing to the next level, as you mentioned! Cheers!
the technique with the dehaze is gooooooooooooooooooold, thank you so much! Already getting awesome results with this simple one.
Thank you for demystifying many of the terms and techniques used by professionals. Also thank you for taking the time to offer alternatives for technical solutions. After all it is about the composition and impression of the photo and how to get there by any reasonably artistic means possible.
Love these editing videos Nigel they really do help novice editors like myself as well as the more experienced too....👍
Thanks Nigel. I got excited when I saw the edit of the Blending of the 2 Wave photos. Also the lightroom tips were amazing. Appreciate. Hope you are not too frustrated with Lockdown. Time for learning!
This is such a fabulous video! So helpful and instructive. Thank you, Nigel!
Always great tips Nigel; thanks ... you make the "indoor" part of photography much more fun and effective. Stay well; looking forward to the "outdoor" element of photography to return to normal.
Great video, thanks Nigel!
Fantastic video Nigel! Absolutely crammed with useful stuff which you probably could have got away with spreading over numerous videos, kudos and thank you.
Really excited about all the different editings to come 😊
Cheers Nigel , thanks for your amazing tips and tricks. Stay safe.
Fantastic tips Nigel! I've been really wanted to add more of Photoshop editing into my flow
Always get great value from your videos Nigel
Thanks Nigel, always good learning!
Thanks for another cracking video - good stuff! Thanks also for the list of references to other topics, which is very useful. All the best to you & yours!
Thanks for these videos Nigel, they're always helpful and informative 😊 can't wait to have another go at editing my own foggy trees, thanks for the ideas!👍👌
Brilliant use of your lockdown time. Great teacher as always.
As always, great tips. Always look forward to your videos. Hang in there during the lockdown.
That was such a useful and timely video, Nigel. You explained the range mask and importing 2 photo's into PS so well. I'm sitting down to try out your tips right now.
Fantastic video, Nigel! Thank you so much, whenever I feel lazy or demotivated with photography, all it takes is to see your videos to recharge my enthusiasm batteries again and go out and shoot. Since we're not on lockdown down here in Paraguay, I'll go to a botanical garden and put into practice your advice. 😀
Thank you Nigel.. great stuff as usual
"7 Skills You Can Learn When YOU'RE Not Out On A Mountain Shooting". Amazing video, as always.
I caught that too!
If you’ve been searching for years for a great educator this is your guy. Thank you for all the hard work you’re putting into this Nigel! Please make an online photography/editing/business course! Would love to support your work and continue learning from you.
Appreciate that
Some great tips in there Nigel, thank you
Love you mann really helpful!!
That second picture with the 2 trees is phenomenal!!
gorgeous images, wonderful editing!
Wonderfully inspiring as always, Nigel! Sorry about the lockdown. Stay well!
Excellent video Nigel!! The new masking range in LR is huge
Thank You for an amazing tutorial. Just realised that I will have a month of work, to really absorb it. To me and a game changer on the use of PS and LR, plus the coaching aspects of the tutorial are just mind blowing. Wow! Cheers
Great tips as always, must say your pointers have helped me out a lot in recent months. What can often initially be a ‘boring’ shot, by applying a few tweaks and edits can become epic. One top tip I now often use my own presets, which I find works exceptionally well to save time, and get shots I’m prouder off! 👍
Thank you Nigel, I learned something today. Stay safe. ~from Texas.
Thanks Nige. This was really useful. Some I knew, some I didn't but all the tips were, in my opinion, important for anyone to know.
Thanks! I'm trying to learn more things in Adobe and lightroom since the lockdown. I actually learned a few things I didn't know with your video.
Thanks a bunch for this. I'm a shoestring budget photographer with minimal gear and tips like this are a genuine help.
Epic video man! Loved the way you showed off these tips without going into too much depth, but just the right amount of depth.
+1 sub
I know what I’m doing this week. Thanks Nigel.
Thank you, always look forward to learning something in Lr.
Love your channel, great tutorials and tips. Fan of your way of shooting .
Best regards from Norway
Learning something in every video, thanks a lot!
So many great tips, thank you!!
great video ! Thank you Nigel
Very useful video Nigel. Thank you
Love these videos, your very good with explanations. I’m still learning all this terminology. Love taking photos but have no clue about processing in Lightroom.
great tips!! thank you!
Great tips, thanks a lot Nigel 🙏
Fab tips. Thanks. I'm definitely going to go over some previous shots and give them a tweak
Nigel - this is probably one of the best LR/ACR/PS tutorials that I’ve ever seen! Each idea is very clear and explained with detail. I learned more from this than from a lot of the courses that I purchased. Thanks for these wonderful tips. I will tell all my photo buddies to have a look.... stay well
Thanks so much
This was great, man, thank you!
Again a great informative video Nigel 👍
You rock. You are my favourite photographer. I am humbled and grateful for your help in my quest to be a great photographer some day. Your knowledge blows me away. Thank you thank you thank you.
Great stuff Nigel! I just took some nice images this evening about 4 miles from home. I can't wait to get started in LR/PS. Thanks for the tutorial!
Many thanks Nigel for the tips
Thank your for this great Ideas!
Wonderful information and advice. Many thanks.
Excellent points, all, Nigel. On the editing challenge, it's one thing to edit a photo; it's another to have a concept of what you want the edit to reveal. That's what I keep tripping over. Looking forward to seeing the results next week. Maybe I'll try the one after that.
Great work..simple but awesome ❤
Amazing tips to try! Thanks a lot.
Another super video (as always).
Your videos are very useful! Thanks for all the tips
Wonderful content there Nigel..!!
Greatly appreciate this well presented information. And bonus on the Lightroom short cuts in newsletter 🤗 All will help me learn and grow in this craft. Cheers 👌✨
Keep up the good work Nigel. Some invaluable information in your videos 👍
Many thanks for sharing Nigel :)
AMAZING! great tips!!!
Thanks Nigel . Hope the back gets better soon.
For local adjustments in LR ...the adjustment brush is a go to for me ..probably more than grad and radial filters .
Exzellent tut!!! Thanks a mill Nigel. And most important I wish you and your family a happy, healthy and successful new Year. Greetings from Switzerland Claudia
You’re doing a great job 👏
very useful tips. thank you a lot!
Wonderful video! I feel ready to give editing a real go now! 😊
As always fully explained instructional video. Many thanks...
Great video, Nigel! Picked up a few new tricks to try during lockdown. Hope all is well 🙌
Your videos are incredibly helpful
Nigel, very helpful .. Tks for your help!
Enjoyed this and looking forward to the Raw image challenge
Some more excellent tips, especially those shortcuts which are new to me. I've learnt so much from your channel during lockdown ~ really appreciate what you do 👍
Thanks for the video tips and for the opportunity to edit your photos! I'm having quite a good time, and it's a fun challenge to edit based on my perceptions of your intent in the image. Fun!
Excellent video. The Option/Alt key is so useful (in LR) that I've programmed it into the rocker switch for my Wacom Pen. I've used it like this for so long now that's it's almost a reflex action to press the rocker with my thumb during any step of the editing process.
Another excellent and informative video.
Thank you so much for this video :) .. It`s just amazing to find such talented persons "by accident" . I`m trying just to start to get my work from just being a part-time-photographer to youtube in german, what makes it eben more difficult due to the limited audience, but seeing talented people like you just inspires me to keep going :)
Sunday coffee and your video is my routine now so thanks again
Thank you so much, This was very helpful and amazing video 👏👍👍
