  • You may be wondering why I posted this song and dance to this ministry channel when it's not traditionally known as a worship song. What most don't know is that the Hawaiian language is deeply spiritual, and that our people once worshiped the one and only Creator whom we called 'Io (pronounced Ee-oh).
Keali'i Reichel has an incredible gift of music that brings the spiritual essence out in his music using the Hawaiian language. It's so powerful that anyone can hear the healing that emerges from it. This song celebrates the beauty of God's creation, and I am proud to be able to demonstrate my love and respect for it through Hula.

Maui as it continues to battle
    more heartache.
I love you Maui. We will never
    forget about you.

    Hawaiian Lyrics:
    He ahu aʻo Lanihuli
    No ka noe o Nuʻuanu
    Nu`alia i ka pōʻai pali
Ika pā iki mai o ke Kona ē
    Hui:
He ohu i ka leu haliʻa
    ʻAla māpu i ke anuhea
    Hea mai i ke aumoe
Moemoeā, moe mālie i ka poli
Luhiehu ka lau o ka palai
    Pāpālua i ke kilihune
    Kilihea ka liko ʻāhihi
Hīhīmanu, hihipe`a me ka maile ē
    ʻAuamo ʻo Konahuanui
    I ke ao hākumakuma
    Kū māhiehie Kilohana
    Ua pō i keʻala hīnano
    English Translation:
Lanihuli is laden like an altar
    For the mists of Nuʻuanu
Amassed there in the circle of cliffs
By the sultry buffeting of the Kona wind
    Chorus:
Adorned with a lei of fond recollection
A permeating fragrance that comes sweetly
Beckoning to me in the deep of the night
Dream sleep gently there in the heart
The fronds of palai are luxuriant
Doubly so in the fine misty rain
Bedewed are the fine shoots of the ʻahihi
Elegant entwined in the abundance of maile
    Konahuanui shoulders the burden
    Lifting the dark heavy clouds
That Kilohana in its glory may rise
Mantled in the heady fragrance of hinano

You are a beautiful and graceful dancer. Thank you for all your videos explaining how the flags are made and how to hold and use them. I just ordered the Bride of Messiah flag and I’m very excited to worship with the beautiful flag and I hope that the ladies in my church group will be blessed when I do a praise dance in front of them. I’m hoping to learn one of your flag dances🙏🏼Thanks again!🐛🦋🕊️💓🌻🌷
