I've driven past this many times and wondered about the history behind it. Thanks for telling the story. You did a fantastic job! Very interesting details. Another fire video as always! 🔥🔥🔥🎯

Thank You for sharing with us. There are several charcoal mines across the Southwest. They are called kilns and the kilns and smelters are responsible for deforestation everywhere they are. We used to have thick forests of Juniper and Oak with many limbs that burn at the temperature they need, but the Juniper trees don't grow back. The average life of a kiln Is 2 years before they ran out of trees to cut and burn. There are many just in the Salt Lake, Ogden, and Provo areas. One of the kilns is even part of the sidewalk in one neighborhood. They are Leamington kilns. We can only see one. The others are buried, but sticking out in places. These smelts and kilns are pure poison and destruction for years to come. Thank goodness they closed when they did, but the damage is done. Cyanide and Mercury have been left behind to leak into the groundwater. The Tintic mining operations are vast. How 1 company can be allowed to ruin that much land is beyond what I imagined. I believe in progress and industry, but we have safer ways now. We can now use carbon as a fuel and greatly reduce the waste entering the ground and air. Live and learn I guess. Cool video. Another is In the middle of the highway.

I've driven past this several times. I didn't realize it is as "new" as it is.
