I searched and found 'Moon Zero Two' and just finished watching it. I actually enjoyed it. Some genuine creativity and effort was expended on this movie,; as for the story, when I was hearing the space plutocrat talking towards the end of the movie, I thought I was watching Episode 0 of 'The Expanse'.....
My family had a Zenith hybrid color television that my mother bought from the trunk of a car in 1971. Probably stolen and definitely no warranty. So the first time something broke I got the Sam's Photofact from the public library to get the part number of the hollow phenolic tube for the VHF channel selector and got the part from a local TV dealer and fixed it for a couple of dollars. For the next five years I was the repair person for that TV and the second time I used the library photo copy machine to have the Sam's photofact pages I needed. In retrospect the TV shop must have been giving me the jobber prices for parts to encourage a teenager that was self taught. Eventually my mother got remarried and the new husband didn't want anything to do with us kids, so when the zenith broke again they bought a bigger TV with a warranty and threw out the TV that I had been repairing for just the price of very inexpensive parts.

You state consciousness is no longer present when normal bodily functions degrade--if one looks closely one can find evidence in medical literature that this may not be the case. Even in cutting-edge physics it seems consciousness could have a crucial role in the 'design' of the universe at various scales. After decades of personal research, I think differently today to how I thought as 22-year-old student.
About the video overlay and engineers. I'm not sure what you're using, and I'm sure this is no surprise to you based on your own experiences. Years ago I was involved in designing video recording hardware, and we ended up meeting with Canon, Nikon, and Sony management and engineering because their DSLRs were including the GUI overlays and scaling in their HDMI outputs. If not for that, their lower end cameras would be so much more useful and popular for these kind of applications when combined with the hardware we were making. There was huge potential there. However they seemed really against changing it. At the same time they were still pushing their pro video cameras, not wanting their DSLRs to displace those, it seemed. They didn't see or didn't want to see the vlogger CZcamsr future we were seeing at the time. It seems common that larger businesses make short sighted sales driven decisions like that, even if the engineers are arguing against it. The people with the money often only look back at market history as they have analysed it. Smaller businesses and engineers or product designers with vision and ideas just don't have the resources to develop or manufacture that kind of technology. It only changes bit by bit as the consumers push things to change. These seem to be the reasons, the forces at work making everything so annoying everyday. BTW I can't stand CZcams shorts, they're shoving them down my throat in search results and recommendations. I wish they would f off. Wanting to compete with TikTok etc is one thing, but I'll bet the engagement vs cost ratio on their end is also driving it. Way less bandwidth, storage, etc per unit of user engagement. Kill me
