Yes, the Bowden tube where it meets the extruder nozzle gets some heat damage which restricts the filament flow. Taking it apart and cutting back a new piece or replacing the tube is what worked for me. It’s a popular problem after a printer has done some work.
That stand you put together made this possibly the most clear demonstration of a transaxle that I've seen.

@@autotech4103 Thank you, it was driving me mad. The end of the tube had narrowed a lot and had a piece of plastic stuck.
