  • If your transaxle keeps breaking or bending axles shafts! Look no further than a peerless 820!
This is the perfect transaxle for off-road or race applications!
One of the best if not the best top input transaxle.
These diffs came in so many different mowers and I’m sure you can find one in a old crapped out mower for cheap!
Unlike us who have search far and wide for these transaxles to find nothing, then be awarded two beautiful 820’s from the mower gods………… thank you!
I always suggest a skid plate or brace plate on your off-road mower as these style transaxles have a alloy of a sorts case that is no where near as strong as a cast iron/Steel casing!
Good news is the 820 has a much thicker casing then all of the 3/4” shaft transaxles!
But still I always side on the caution of keeping it safe and uncracked!
This diff will basically bolt into almost any mower with a manual transaxle and need little work to make it fully functional!
If you are looking into a peerless 820 ch do out our build series on “MAGNUM THE MOWER” as we modified our 820 to make it even better!
Scroll through our channel to check that out!

The 820s are such a pain to get hold of in the UK but boy are they worth it!
This country is littered with 801 and 832 transaxles though, so I just run them and constantly have spares on hand.

66 mph crapsman mower I spent zero dollars on !
Bottom line run a GT axle LT (lawn tractor) is lighter duty (GT) (garden tractor) were built for implements and attachments/work horse .
Lawn tractor is for what it sounds like mowing a lawn lol.
Simply put a 4-5 inch pulley on front and 1-3/4 to 2” rear pulley .
Weld up a quick idler pulley and go .
    Done .
Never put big atv wheels and tires a on it waste of time lol
Imo trussing it is one thing but building a whole “fitted” skid plate little much for a racing mower lol
Great job none the less js u can do it 0$ budget and absolutely rip!

This is not for a racing mower, it’s for an off-road mower
A 1-2” pulley is way to small and would cause so many belt slipping issues
Skid plate is well worth the time as we don’t have many 820 transaxles in are area and wouldn’t want to damage the casing on a rock
We don’t mind spending some money on a hobby we really enjoy!

I would look into a peerless 820 or other 1” axle transaxles
They can take a lot more abuse over a 3/4” transaxle

I'm building a mower with a solid live axle and peerless 700 series transmission.
Have you guys thought about that, as opposed to a transaxle?

    • @okoffroadmowers
      @okoffroadmowers  Před 2 lety +1

We don’t get very many or any mowers with the 700 series
We have so many ideas for mower builds but sadly where we are located we don’t have many with all these different and cool parts on them
Gunna have to make a trip down the the states to grab some of our dream builds

      @@okoffroadmowers - Makes sense.
I have three mowers, and my older smallest one happened to be the one with the 700 series transmission. The others have transaxles. But it turns out these transmissions are what a lot of the race mowers use.
Not quite finished yet, so right now I'm hopeful it'll hold up.
      Keep up the good work!

Why do you put a cover on the top of the diff

    • @okoffroadmowers
      @okoffroadmowers  Před 2 lety +1

For added strength to the top of the case
      With having a welded diff
The two axle shafts put a lot of pressure on the top half of the case as they are trying to push upwards in the middle.
Also added it as the mounting bolt holes are only 5/16 and I wanted bigger bolts
Watch the magnum rebuild and you will understand what I mean!
