what an action packed finale!! lowkey got mega chills rewatching it - I didn't point this out in my review but after rewatching/editing, I've gotta give credit where it's due to Katee Sackhoff: she brought the passion and the true Mandalorian spirit, watching her fight with everything she has left was absolutely epic, and I honestly teared up watching her light the forge. She certainly had quite the arc this season, and even though it seems like her storyline has been wrapped up to once again focus on future seasons of Din + DIN GROGU (đ ) she has left an amazing mark on this show
IS Moff Gideon TRULY dead though....đ§ guess we'll have to wait and see!!
GAHHH I can't believe it's already over! feels like it went by in the blink of an eye!

This was definitely the final chapter of Gideon's shenanigans. Besides there's bigger Imperial threats brewing in this timeline we'll get to see in the Ahsoka show. Besides that it was a fun finale!!

I swear Din Grogu in your lap looked like he was alive and moving haha this was an epic episode, I cried so much haha I hope we get another season and soon đ IG11 at the end was beautiful too. That Kanan scene omg got me good. Watching this again with you in your reaction.. more tears haha omg

Ready or not here he comes Gideon was just a regular boss level villain whereas Thrawn is the main villain and thank you Cat for seeing that the darksaber was nothing but trouble for the mandalorians but the kyber crystal could go to Grogu for his lightsaber and remember Ahsoka has that droid from Clone Wars who helped jedi younglings build their lightsabers for a thousand years
Oooooh good point Lord Foul! Although I wonder if Grogu will still have any interest in building a saber now that he's no longer training to be a Jedi, but I guess there's no rule saying he can't!
@@CatherineLaSalle yeah and I think a lot of people underestimate the importance of his character eventually all the mandalorians including his new dad are going to die one way or another and then he'll go back to the jedi ways with the help of that droid
He's already had all the training to be a jedi ... like luke said he's remembering ... Luke taught him balance though ... Din Grogu and Sabine are now Mandalorian Jedi's ... Grogu will be the one to tame the Mythasaur ... they connected in this episode ... he'll end up being the ruler of Mandalor
And he'll eventually also wielding the new darksaber
I enjoyed it, Din Vs Troopers Awesome! I Loved the space battle and Mandolor fights felt like Clone War's, So RIP to The Darksaber..If only someone had the Real one ;) Me! No if the bottom of it has a hint of a small Kyber Crystal maybe Grogu or someone can rebuild it, I Loved the Din and Bo vs Gideon fight Bravo! Fight Choreographer âïž đ If I don't see a body I don't believe he is dead maybe Extra crispy Moff đ That Force field of Fire reminded me of Kanan! but we shall see but Mandolor Planet is Back đ Dave Filoni Cameo at the end Awesome! BTW, "The Spies" of episode 7 were the Mandalorian recon team from their fleet who went to the surface to scout the land on Mandalore. Reconnaissance is observation of an area, usually to locate the enemy or some strategic position. It's spying on the target to get specific information.
Yup. Lots of posts adding that the older usage of the word "spies" came from the Bible.
Bo-Katanâs duel with Moff Gideon was one for the ages. She really let out her inner rage this time around.

Have we forgotten how clones work? They are NOT Gideon. They all have there own fresh minds without memories and would be newborns basically if allowed to mature. They are all individuals as we learned from years of watching The Clone Wars. Even if a single clone survived, it's not him.

Someone pointed out how with all the Old Testament/Jewish Diaspora references in this show, that last week's episode title was a reference to the 12 spies Moses sent into Canaan. And Mandalore is a Land of Milk and Honey once more.
Also them finding the oasis is really giving me Priority: Tuchanka vibes from Mass Effect 3.
I'm guessing Gideon kept all of Pershing's research for himself, and now that that's gone with his base, it'll take 30+ years for Palps to resurrect himself.

I have a feeling Grogu will eventually also train as a Jedi as well. You have to remember his species lives over 900 years.
Great reaction! Love watching you geek out on Star Wars. I think this season felt different because there were things they needed to get done in order to more easily move on in future seasons/projects. Grogu had to become more independent and proactive, where in the first 2 seasons Grogu took a less active role in things, this season had to put him in situations or show him getting more comfortable with Din and with others where you see him start to overcome some of the trauma from his surviving Order 66. This finale shows that he is willing to make decisions on his own, take the initiative, and be an active participant in the story. Bo had to come to terms with her failures and to find the path forward for herself and the Mandalorians who follow her. The destruction of he Dark Saber is part of that, letting go of a tradition that did more harm than good and showing that they need to find a new way. Din also needed to find his path and become proactive in his own destiny, where before all he was doing was reacting to events that were happening. Now they have set up foundations for these characters to tell different stories and move them further into the wider picture of Star Wars. This is where I think Star Wars has done better than Star Trek. Even if not all the stories they are telling have been good, and some have missed their mark, they were moving the story forward instead of trying to 'reboot' the universe and start over. I've always said that when Disney bought Star Wars they bought all the legacy stories. Even if they uncannonized those stories, they still own them and can use them how they see fit. Uncannonizing them made it easier tell future stories. And I still firmly believe that Lucas would have done the same thing if he'd kept the franchise (uncannonizing everything that he didn't create/write himself).

The fact Mando now works for the New Republic to target Imperial Remants I get the feeling he will appear in Ashoka and help Ashoka and The New Republic target Thrawn
Ohhhhh perhaps!! I'd love a cameo from him in Ahsoka! Plus grogu's story is very reminiscent of hers (choosing to walk away from the Jedi life) so it would be interesting to see her reunion with the two of them now that Grogu has made his choice

No way Gideon is dead, no body, not even left behind armor
This episode had everything that it needed-the adoption, the Mandalorians all together, Gideon's demise, the happy ending-it was amazing! The fight with Din in the hallway against the troopers-SOOOO John Wick! As for yGideon, remember-we didn't see a body! He could have survived by sending his conciousness to another clone somewhere else, but who can tell. Maybe that one was a clone! Gideon seems to be a man who always plans, so that could be a thing, which means he will be back, but to put him up against Din, who just kinda makes it up as he goes, was epic. I can't wait for season four(who can?), I want BOJAR to become a thing! The perfect mandofam the three of them! Anyway, gonna go watch it again-bye!

That's what I've been saying as long as the kyber crystal is still intact I see no reason why Grogu can't rebuild it for himself with the help of Hyuyang who's been helping people build lightsabers for a thousand years

I do think Gideon is dead but wouldn't be surprised if a clone of his has survived
I have mix feelings about the Dark Saber being destroyed.
It was destroyed reclaiming Mandalore, i think they can focus on another way to pick the ruler.
yes, it's a pity that the saber is no more, but it was done for the sake of the idea đ€·ââ
I understand but I happen to agree with Cat good riddance look what happened when Pre Vizla and then Maul had it like she said it did nothing but divide the mandalorians and if the kyber crystal is still intact it could go to Grogu to rebuild the darksaber for him but it'll no longer be a symbol for leadership
Ax is my favorite and I was so worried he would either go down with the ship or betray them. So glad he didnât do either.

Great reaction! I think this was the conclusion of the Moff Gideon saga, but, perhaps he survived the flames and had a further lab somewhere else, what if that was his clone during the final confrontation and not really him...
I hope the next time we see Din and Grogu will be during the possibilities of a second season of BOBF, as Boba still has a score to settle with the Hutts so maybe we'll see the pair visit Tattooine to help sort out more Pykes or even spice smugglers as one of his side jobs for Carson Teva, perhaps even a cameo of the smuggler man himself Han Solo...
I'm glad they kept the finale to just the Mandalorians taking back their home planet with no help from a certain jedi or the New Republic as that would've made the Mandalorians look weak and unworthy of their reputation.

I think Gideon is done. Maybe they are going to focus on the other Imperial Warlords with a build up to Grand Admiral Thrawn.

See the one thing that annoys me is this wrapped the entire show up nicely, there's no loose ends, everything is done but Dave and co have already finished writing the script for season 4 so that rumour of the show running for 5 seasons is seemingly true, but I truly don't see where they can go from here
Right, this definitely had a lot of beautiful closure for everyone involved (Din, Grogu, Bo, all the Mandalorians) - I do think the story can carry on though since we all know that eventually, at some point, the First Order is going to rise up and the remaining Imperial forces will strike back. They probably won't be living peacefully for too much longer before that happens, i would imagine
@@CatherineLaSalle That's true, the most common theory is Thrawne will show up but yet we know the Ahsoka show is about her hunting him and that's set during Mando season 1 so unless they drag that out for like 3 to 4 seasons I don't see them doing that, unless they change when the show is set and it takes place during Mando season 3 now, after we see her refuse to train Grogu in season 2
My theory is it'll involve the cancelled Rangers of the New Republic since we've been seeing a lot of Carson Teva and that squadron he's with, they don't bring in recurring characters just for odd one-offs so we'll likely see a lot more of them, maybe some Mandalorian politics with new factions emerging etc

It was a great series finale...
This season wasn't as good as the first two for me personally (though still enjoyable) but this episode was super fun and emotional! Grogu's happy waddle into the New Republic base is now my new fave Grogu waddle.

My complaint with this episode is the same one I have for this whole series. The episodes are just too short. Like the season finale should have been both these last two combined into one epic one.
