- I owned this 216k E36 M3 for 18 years, tracked, drifted and raced it. Now it's been fully restored by Chris Selfe. Contains archive drift footage from Zandvoort circa 2006. See the feature in BMW Car magazine. Miss it lots

E36 still looks so fresh!
Proper lovely old BMW! What a joy and a difference to the contemporary crop! 😆
Remember reading about this car in the ‘diaries’ section of a magazine years ago. Looks like you had lots of fun with it!
by the way, falken azenis work well on a 996 as well - drove them on roads, the ‘Ring and couple of track days in my 996c4s ;)
thank you for the vid - I remember you mentioning the car in Car Magazine few years back. Glad to see E36 gaining its cult status these days. Just like the 996.
Thanks - both designed by Pinky Lai too!
@@benbarrycars7628 I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing this.
My American friend who used to tinker on e36 m3s told me that the 4 door bodies are somewhat better, stiffer than coupes. Have you heard anything like that?
I haven’t - usually it’s estate being less rigid versus coupe/four door
@@benbarrycars7628 I started digging this morning and I read "The body shell itself is stiffer and tighter (having smaller openings) and framed doors. (...) the sedan chassis of the E36 is somewhat superior for stiffness, the reason BMW uses the sedan for Touring Car racing is the fact that the sedan is the only legal body style for the class, being Touring Car racing after all."
