    My son is 28 years old and I still baby him too much. He is acting defiant and has been sneaking food, etc., which is a good thing because it means he is asserting his independence. I love your videos, you are such a strong and intelligent young woman. Keep up the good work.

      It’s so hard not to baby our kiddos! I get it, I try to have him do more things for himself but it’s such a battle to get him going. I will keep trying tho! Thank you for watching! 💙

    I haven’t been in public with my friends with autism but I been with one of my friends with Down syndrome and I knew people saw that people had a disability and i looking at something ( we were Christmas shopping) I turned and saw a lady talking to him and laughing with him and i smiled, lots of thanks and love to that lady for accepting the fact that he had a disability and didn’t care ❤❤

    Your hard work and perseverance for your son is so inspiring. I can relate to you so much especially with the negative headspace and feelings. Just know you’re not alone you are helping a lot of autism mamas out here ❤ no one knows our babies like we know them and it’s up to us to fight for them regardless of what doctors insurance etc say. Love your channel keep going! 💪

    The amount of appointments and things that is as parents have to do and have follow through we all get worn out don't forget it's okay to take breaks we need them just as much as our kids do.

    Saludos a toda tu linda familia

    When you said "it's so hard to always follow through" I felt that! That's my daily struggle. I constantly feel like I'm not doing enough either. Our doctor wanted us to try the Daytrana patch with my oldest (he'll be 8 next month), but I ended up not going that route. I felt like with him being nonverbal and not being able to tell us how it was making him feel, I just couldn't do it. It's so hard to know if you're doing enough. 😭

      I just looked up a little info on it and I feel like it would be so hard for my son to not mess with something like that. First time I hear of a patch. Your so right how do I know if the medicine is affecting how he feels (nauseous, headache ect) 😭

      I know how emotional getting an autism diagnosis can be. I know even with our older kiddos being autistic it still is a lot to process. I’m happy you were able to get the process started fast. Sending you love and positive thoughts 💙

    My son was diagnosed last Monday he’ll be 4 in two months. Up until till Monday we had being told by many doctors and specialist that he was just speech delayed; he always scored just below the cut off point for an autistic diagnosis in all the test they preformed since he was 18 months. But now that his almost four i do see the huge difference between kids in his class and him. The development pediatrician told me that he is on the mild side of the spectrum and that he probably wont get more than 10 hours of ABA a week. He already gets 2 hours a day of Special Instructor and 30 minutes of speech three times a week at his regular preschool. I feel like he difenally needs more speech but thats the max they can offered him in a regular class setting 😢. Im debating whether to keep him in his regular preschool or move him to a special needs school. I don’t think an ABA center is particularly the setting for him from what i have researched but im going to tour a couple places and see, but i also feel like he needs more than a “regular preschool “. Im so lost on what to do………..

      @ROCKNSTIMS  Před rokem +1

      Have you considered private speech therapy outside of school? Speech therapy can be covered by insurance and be very beneficial! I know how hard this process after a diagnosis is. Sending love to you, whatever you decide will be for the best of your son 💙

    I’m trying to learn how to shadow and mimic an ABA instructor, so I can give my kid more attention. Is anyone else trying to do this? How’s it going?

    I was under the impression that as the people get older and older... the level and amount of services are reduced.

    • @ROCKNSTIMS
      @ROCKNSTIMS  Před rokem +2

      Yes that is the goal. As your learning the goal is to be able to reduce hours because they are progressing but it should be based on each individual. Christian still needs lots of support.

    Hello I’m currently struggling with ABA around my area … can you let me know what’s the name of the agency? Also does your son attend school? Does he get overwhelmed with ABA? My daughter is high function and non verbal as well. I stopped ABA because of school and now that I’m trying to get her back on it. It’s hard 😢
    Good luck on everything and thank you❤

    • @ROCKNSTIMS
      @ROCKNSTIMS  Před rokem

      He does not attend school. We opted to homeschool and do 32 hours of aba instead of school. I’m sorry I don’t give out his clinic Information for privacy reasons but I know most places have a wait list for after school hours. Lots of parents seek those times to do both. I think when he was doing school and aba he was a bit more overwhelmed 💙

    My son just turned 6 and he’s only getting 6 hours!! Lack of staff, and he should be getting 19 hours. Whatever they can’t fill his ABA company told me he’s SOL. My son is lower functioning and has a looooong way to go and they want to drop his hours to 9 this summer. He needs the help or they feel like he’s a lost cause. Which he’s not! They want to free up their waitlist….so you push kids that need it? I’m super pisses so I get it!!! I hope things get better for you!!! 🤗

    • @ROCKNSTIMS
      @ROCKNSTIMS  Před rokem

      We started cbd when Christian was 7 and fully committed to it when he was 8. My son has high needs and the school couldn’t provide the proper support. Christian does in center aba which helps him develop more life skills and breaks things down to step by step for him to learn things easier and with more time.

    • @ROCKNSTIMS
      @ROCKNSTIMS  Před rokem +1

      Right now he is developing without delays. I do try to make sure I’m aware of any signs I may see as I know how important early intervention is if there are delays. Even with that being said just having him be so active destroys my house and some days I feel so overwhelmed so I get how you feel. Hang in there! It will get easier with time 💙

    What are your thoughts regarding iPads? I feel like my almost 4 year old has thrived a lot this year. She knows a lot more words and communicates her wants and needs more when she has the iPad. I mostly have learning apps for her and she loves them. When i see her repeat, back numbers and words makes my heart happy 🥹. I know alot of people are against iPads, but I feel like it’s helping her more.

      I think what they are watching makes a big difference! Sebastian has learned sooo much through the CZcams education videos! I think it’s equally important to model what they are learning throughout the day. I am not the type to be negative about any type of parenting as long as it’s safe 💙
