I had a hot pass and was in the pits for that one. I have never seen drivers look so much like they'd rather be doing something else. That one was a tough one to watch, but at least the funniest winner possible ended up taking the trophy. That Jones boy never does give up.

I remember watching the entire race and getting hella annoyed at all the crashes. I also nearly died of laughter watching Erik’s torn up car win the race.

Imagine being Austin Dillion in the Clash having the only clean car in this race and not only get beat by cars with damage and almost getting passed by Clint Bowyer with a broken bent spoiler.

a large percentage of nscsr fans will complain about any and everything they do because it isn't the way it was in the 90s. sure, the sport isn't as popular as it was back then. but that's because every time nascar tries something they either execute it horribly or all the nascar fans who are afraid of change rebel

I went to my first Nascar race at Richmond last week on my birthday. Turned 20. Went with my lil brother and pops. I wish for everyone to hear them go around the track in person at least once in their life. It was awesome!

Just a side note that Mike joy didn't realize at this time was Denny was a lap down so there really was no good side by side finish for the win tbh once Erik jones took the lead nobody else was getting to him

This race was the reason I’m a fan. My first race. “This is an embarrassment to our sport” I hear a lot. I don’t really think so. (However full screen green flag commercials ARE an embarrassment to the sport). This race had me hooked. I heard it was going to LA and as a Daytona resident had mixed feelings. I do enjoy the LA clash though.
I was at cota in the main grandstand. Everyone was getting annoyed by the second overtime restart.
I was in turn 1 and same. It's not like they changed anything, Reddick was too dang good.
This race reminded me of the 2017 Dega playoff race when there was like 10 cars left
That final daytona oval clash ending though was like an IROC race ending

The 2020 Clash is one of the best races I've ever watched. I loved the absolute chaos at the end. I didn't like the oil left on the track though. I thought that was dumb and they should have cleaned it up.
Yeah, that 2011 finish at Watkins Glen that gets replaed over and over again happened because of the exact same thing.
Great ending there, tying it all together. Lately it just feels rough being a NASCAR fan. I wonder how this weekends dirt race will end with Overtime or big crashes
A JGR race car with a absolutely totaled front end winning the Busch Clash at Daytona. If that wasn’t a wild moment in this race, I don’t know what is.

I'm not entirely sure how I've wound up watching NASCAR videos on CZcams again, since I haven't watched a race since 2020, but watching this I'm pretty sure this is the race that effectively killed my interest in the sport. Sure, it was hilarious seeing a car that badly destroyed win through sheer collective idiocy, but I don't think I was even that surprised by the end of it. Like you said at the start, driving a racecar is hard. But it's not much easier telling yourself these are the best drivers in the world, when they just can't figure out how to stop hitting each other.

The move to road course was originally so that it was the last hurrah for Gen 6. Unfortunately, Next Gen had to be postponed due to circumstances.
Also, the 2023 race at the Coliseum already had people saying "Busch Light Crash at the Coliseum".
This was my first race as a fan 🤣

The Clash should always be at Daytona and should only feature the previous season’s pole sitters as well as previous Clash winners. I didn’t like the Coliseum races at all. NASCAR needs to change the Speedweeks back to the way it used to be. Two weeks of Daytona to start the season - Clash on Saturday night, Cup qualifying Sunday afternoon, Twin 125 qualifying races Thursday evening, truck race Friday night, Busch and ARCA races Saturday afternoon, and the 500 on Sunday afternoon.
