The thing that hits me the most is the line "you're not appreciating that we are taking you out for fun". Bruh, those trips were never fun. Penny pinching, no emotional control, family tensions for no reason, being too lazy to any fun places, fun places being too untraditional... and more all made these trips incredibly stupid. Of course I don't appreciate this trip, I didn't want to go.

As long as you speak mostly any northern Indian language, then you can understand a good amount of the dialogue. I speak Gujarati and still understand what is being said😂

Your parents just want to visit relatives and go to fucking temples and maybe shopping for clothes, mostly. Then if u visit ur parents village, you realize why your not Sri Lankan. When ur not a typical tourist, where you understand the language and culture it can be a shitty experience. The people are stuck in a different fucking mindset, they can be racist they treat their own people like shit(stupid fucking cast system) and dumb fucking religious beliefs. You can't change how these people think either. But amazing food, some good experiences, and amazing sights. Plus more luxury for less cost cause it's a third world country.

Going on the Niagara Falls trip is a Desi kid's rite of passage. Everything in this is totally accurate. Few things I would add:
-listening to the same three 90's Bollywood cds for the 8+ hours in the car
-getting lost because the uncles can't decide on directions
-taking pictures with everything; like literally everything: plants on the side of road, buses, cars, signs, trees, etc.
-hanging out in the gift shop but never buying anything
