    Instead of using cooking spray, Just heat the peanut oil up in the fryer and when its at temp just lower the empty basket in the oil for 10-20 seconds then take the basket out and then sit your turkey in. Now your turkey won't stick.

    I own four fryers. Two propane two electric. I have one just like this one. Also use a masterbuilt electric smoker. What I've learned in almost 40 years of frying and smoking turkeys is the meat don't care where the heat comes from.

    I bought this exact fryer and I will be using it for my first fried turkey for Thanksgiving. I filled it with water yesterday and submerged the bird while still in plastic. That way I know exactly how much oil to use to cook evenly. I'm excited! 🤗

      When deep frying a turkey, you can use any cooking oil that has a smoke point above 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Corn oil works well also because it doesn't smoke until 440 degrees Fahrenheit Peanut oil is just just the best because of the high heat it can take.

      @user-qr5bz2pq7v Před 2 lety +3

      I have the same model and have experienced what you’re talking about. Firstly, any turkey over 14lbs will not remain fully submerged. If that happens, it’s likely not to ever crisp. The smaller the turkey the better the cook. Secondly, I cook my turkeys beyond 165 degrees like he did. The longer it stays in the grease the crispier it gets. I cook to an internal temp of 185.
