  • In today's video, Paul Drew from The Studio Rats is checking out the ENYA Nova GO Sonic Carbon Fiber guitar.
    This Carbon Fiber guitar has a full amp modelling suite built right into the guitar that in my opinion is ok for a bit of practice and that's it! What is great about this guitar is for $439 you get a carbon fiber guitar that has great sounding pickups and great build quality.

    If there's a version without the built-in amp, i would probably get it immediately

      you beat me to this comment. i was going to say if they make that exact gutiar at the same price, but remove the amp sim/modelling, remove the speaker, just regular guitar, but use the extra production $$ that frees up to include locking tuners and stainless steel frets (with same round edge treatment they do before inserting into 'fretboard', i'd buy that thing instantly. perfect holiday, couch, travel guitar.

      Why would that stop you from buying it?

    • @regianalfarizi

      @@bickleyjonas6145 first, the tone from the amp in my opinion is not very usable. Second, the amp and the effect choice itself is very limited, i would prefer get boss katana go / nux mighty amp pro / mooer prime for better tone,amp & effect choice. Third, i heard in many review if you play the built in amp loud / 80% up to max volume, it gives some feedback noise when you’re in the bridge pickup.

    The _ultimate_ couch guitar. Yes the speaker is useful! It doesn't have to sound like 2 x 12"s, it's just gotta be audible in a room with maybe a TV on. You won't need to tangle the living room with gear & wires - your partner will thank you. Being so light, it's also a fantastic hotel room traveler.

    At first glance, I thought the speaker was just a design to break up the monotony of all white, which I didn't really mind. Although I have always hated guitars with speakers in them, I can see the utility of this one from the aspect of convenience. Something popping into your head can be worked out on this guitar in seconds.
    It also sounded great in the video; of course, a lot of that may be due to Paul and that phenomenal amplifier!

    Useful speaker idea for travelling, holiday etc when taking an amp would be not convenient perhaps?

    Carbon fiber does effect the tone when its part of the neck; the stability of CF seems over-rated as a feature though. Maybe if they'd remove the junky bits and offer a stripped down CF guitar for $100-150 less, this could sell pretty well.

      best feature is that it stays in tune despite changes in humidity and temp

    Sounds incredible tbh and for that price a fantastic bargain. Agree though, ditch the speaker and have some fancy colours and they are to a winner 🏆

    Just tried the 2 links for purchase. The Amazon one won’t ship to this country and the red chilli one only deals with trade enquiries.
    Looks like no one’s getting an Enya….

    I am a singer-songwriter and a guitarist. I own a Les Paul guitar. I was planning to get valeton Gp-200 to enhance my music writing (specifically) now that I've seen this NOVA go SONIC ...I'm also leaning toward getting this one instead..because it has it all for composing and practice at such an affordable price.
    Now I'm confused about which one to purchase...another guitar or a multiprocessor?

      That’s the great thing about Amazon, you can try and send back if you’re not happy.

      I had steinbergers back in the 90s and I’ve got an Emerald in the studio currently. I’ve never used a retrofit neck in afraid.

    Sounded like it wasn't holding tune very well after doing bends. Did you find that to be the case?

    • @TheStudioRats
      @TheStudioRats  Před měsícem

      Holding tune was fine, intonation needed a bit of looking at as I said in the vid, but that’s not a big deal.

    I have a toy electric guitar from I think the 80’s with a singular single coil bride pickup that actually sounds amazing but it’s hard to play. It has a speaker coming out directly over the strings were the sound hole of an acoustic would be and that sound while trashy is a great sound too (when it worked), I think maybe the speaker vibrated the strings in a pleasant way however no modeling going on there

    • @TheStudioRats
      @TheStudioRats  Před měsícem

      It’s unlike anything I’ve played before. It’s wider than a lot of guitars and flat and medium.
