🗨️ Renault Arkana is a new SUV from France. Austral is a true SUV, it's big (at least for European standard), it's practical, specious and it doesn't go off-road 😉. Austral has a 4CONTROL system which means that it can steer with all four wheels (rear ones are moving a bit). Basically, the turning circle is amazing but in the bends you don't feel a "pure driving experience" as Renault says. Test drove one yesterday here in UK.
Coped with the main roads nicely, speed bumps not a problem and road noise even at motorways not an issue.
Seats nice and comfy.
Steering a little weird at first due to the 4 wheel steer at low speeds but soon adjusted to the quicker turn in from it.
Coming from an A5 Sportback 40 TFSI then performance acceptable but didn't expect too much from a large SUV.
We only have the etech hybrid here in the UK but have a hyundai kona from work that self charging and found to be bit smoother then the Kona.
Happy enough that ordered one and told 4-6 months. Could have had one quicker but has the premium paint/black roof which would take over the 40K RRP and kick in the higher VED here in the UK, so prefer to wait.

Seems a shame to deny yourself the model you really wanted just for £390 a year extra, they have one at Bristol St motors Gloucester, and it's an Iconic Alpine, Metallic blue-black roof is only £33,000 and only 2600 miles. I mean that's over 6 grand off, which buys an awful lot of extra VED insurance and fuel.
@@pillred5974 picked mine up 3 weeks ago and been great with it. Mostly been motorway driving with some local around where I live thrown in.
First time I filled up then reported 500 miles however after an 80 mile journey shoulder 480 miles left.
Last time filled up showed 700 miles.
Usually around the mid 90s on the eco report as well as fairly smooth.
Went with the iron blue as had enough of grey cars and the blue is a nice one.
Taken a bit of time to get used to the slow down when come off he throttle due to max regen set but got used to it now.
Noise not a problem at all but am fairly smooth driver so not revving the engine anyway.
Overall would say is a nice car, nothing spectacular about it but does what supposed too without any fuss or drama.

360 camera options of Sideview and 3D do not work when you are in backwards gear (R). Not something you find out until you have the car 😊

This is a hybrid. Petrol version has a bigger boot

It's a petrol hybrid.. best of both worlds
No se si es un suzuki sx4, el diseño es tan generalista que si no te dicen que es un austral pensas que es un Clío con llantas más grandes, los franceses no hacen buenos autos, feos y sin potencia.
