  • Just a quick walk around showing what I've done and some parts of Patagonia lake. Then showing the front Bimini has no problem with wide open throttle. Also show the ramp and shallow water anchor system I put on.

    Man I absolutely love what you've done. Anyone left outside of the bimini when we go out normally ends up bright red. The double bimini makes the entire boat safe

    I live in Arizona and shade is a priority. I put my front bimini on so it opens to the front like the rear one so I can fold it back out of the way if I want to, and not have it my way so much like when people mount the standard double tops. I bought a bimini wider the one that came with the boats it will fold back back over the original and not rub. I put it together and here is the part I've never seen anybody do, I took the out the rivets from the brackets so I could move the back supporting arm bracket in between the other two brackets where it could slide up and down in between the top and bottom bracket so I could later I drill holes through the bracket and the frame to put a pin through and raise or lower it back to front and back. then I just riveted the top and bottom brackets back on. Next I took it the boat and laid it down on the top of the fence in the front so it rested in its down position between the steering wheel and dash so it wasn't on top of the throttle shifter or hitting the steering and temporarily clamped it down with 1" wide strips of aluminum about 6" long thru the brackets that hold them to the railing and used clamps in front and behind those brackets. This will hold down the bimini while you open it so you can get an idea where to fasten your main brackets that it folds up and down with. When you look on the video you can see where I put them on both sides. These boats are not square so you will have eyeball it and not measure from the front or back. I had to cut about 5 inches off the driver side bracket to make it sit level with the original bimini. As you can see I had put supporting arms closer together on the gate side to be able to use the gate and that made the driver side higher. Once you have the clamps on that can slide just move it back forth till it's where it fits and screw it down. In the video It's only screwed down, but now I bolted the brackets down when I was sure it worked.

    Some smart add-ons for sure...I have the same boat ordered, who knows when I'll see it, but I really like the shallow anchor system. I see the feedthru plates are seat post mounts, no? So where can the 10ft anchor rods be sourced? Great idea.

    • @gonecatnagain2667
      @gonecatnagain2667  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi gibfen, took mine 3 months to get delivered, yeah the plates are just base plates for seat posts, swivel eze brand 4 x 8. They were fun putting on the way I did, had to take the ladder off and on the front I had to detach the fences and the storage containers to get the plates to slide under, not hard just a lot of loosening and tightening of nuts and bolts. I got my 3/4 inch 10 foot long fiberglass rods at Grainger industrial supply in Tucson az. go to Grainger.com and see if they have one near you, around $45 each, I put bicycle grips on mine, you will have to drill out the base plates a bit to get them to slide easier. Hope this helped.

    • @gonecatnagain2667

      Hi Wayne, It is a Harbor Mate PBR75 7.5' L x 24" W Pontoon Boat Ramp - 600 Pound Capacity. I got mine on Amazon, but I don't think they have them on there right now, but I think you can get them at discountramps.com I installed mine by myself. It comes fully assembled. I put 2 ratchet straps under the deck, but above the toons and let them hang down so I could put the ramp on them and just tighten it to the bottom with the front right under the winch hook about a foot back from the bow, you can screw it on or bolt it on. I am going to put a loop at the front so I can guide it out with boat hook and bring it back in with dry feet. If its to heavy for you can take off the plastic stops from the front and take out the ramp and just install the frame and put the ramp in afterwards, but to that you would have to take off your Ladder up front on the trailer to slide the ramp in.

      Hey Jeff, I'm going to make some follow up videos detailing what I've done and how I did it for anyone that might be interested. I haven't even taken the cover off since I posted this, but will be getting back to fishing next week. I put this this video up just to give someone some ideas and not to be afraid to drill a couple of holes here and there. I had to modify my front top to get it to fit. My boat is not square, It's all an illusion once you start measuring, so just eyeball and no-one will know. I have the 9 ft back bimini so yours should be easier to fit. Here is what to put in amazon search plus asin number. They are half the price I paid so I got another just now.
