- It's not a popcorn cooker.
It's a Crispy Popped Rice cooker.
The basic ingredients include plain rice, glutinous rice or wheat.
The grains are sealed in the pressure cooker and dry cooked over a slow fire for about 10 minutes,
until it starts to pop - Věda a technologie
You need to spin it faster so it doesn't burn, and you shoot it into a canvas bag about six feet long, so you don't lose all the popcorn and make a mess. I've seen dozens of street vendors make popcorn this way in China. The popcorn is awesome and the explosion kicks ass.
also lets everyone know hes in the neighborhood !
This thing pops everything not just corns, it does same for rice, quinoa or any seed base products.
It took so long because the vessel was cold. If it was already pre-warmed up/hot, it would not take so long to build up pressure.
My dad built one of those when I was a kid, it’s not for popcorn but regular corn or any other grain like rice, wheat, quinoa, sorghum or even macaroni. You have to spin faster to keep from getting burnt, it’s only dangerous in the hands of amateurs 😊 I spent many hours running it when I was 11 years old
Cool story bro.
Remember Wheat Puffs? "Shot from Guns". I've had crackling rice soup with this in it.
Got to laugh at the bomb suit. Guys in China used this popcorn maker on the side of the streets.
0:51 The pressure gauge with the red star is hilarious. Now why was the brand name blurred out?
When you use this machine, you even don't need the kind of corn to make popcorn, it can make popcorn by all kinds of corns. Even the corn used to feed pigs and cattle.
Love how they're like it takes so long to pop when they used an enormous amount in a huge cooker lol
A cooker that was also cold rather than being already warmed up......
Smaller amount, faster spin, pre-warmed cooker = much better and faster popcorn
I think it's only fast if you use a regular sized one.
1:45 Jamie: "It reminds me of water heaters about to explode."
Alton: "Ah. I remember that."
Why am I not surprised Alton Brown is a Mythbusters fan?
Why else would he be there
@@liamhansolo1464As a "food expert" shoehorned in. Food Network is owned by Discovery, so he would have been fodder to use at no extra cost or contract conflicts.
a bag wouldnt be fun
PUFFED -lived in Akron Ohio during the Quaker Oats days puff rice was shot from cannons you could hear the explosions all day.
Yep, this device is from western for sure. It process corns with high temperature and pressure. so you could not add sugar ,sugar will caramelize. and no oil needed.
"If we just find pieces, can I have your watch?" Lol
How did I miss this episode?
Like everything else important you missed in life.
@@totallylegityoutubeperson4170 I didn't miss getting to third base with your mom.
@@PhantomPanic That was your dad, bro.
@@totallylegityoutubeperson4170 You're right. He probably got some too along with the rest of the neighborhood.
@@PhantomPanic No, you had sex with your dad.
i have been eating this since i was a child. its extremely safe
Are you still extremely safe?
All species of corn wil pop with this tool

thanks
往天上喷这不是爆米花,是暴风雪。
穿防爆服可笑死我了,还有,麻袋呢?😂
the water doesn't vaporize until the pressure is released. dunno why that guy said it did.
Because he's a misinformed goon, made for TV.
here is the Chinese popcorn cooker: czcams.com/video/dX-_p_uSQSM/video.html
Here after seeing it on TikTok
Me too, it's funny watching them do it wrong with all this unnecessary equipment when I've watched teenage girls do it easily and safely
@@kwirkLAYou watched teenage girls do it? Disgusting!
"Fastest popcorn cooker in the west!" Surely he means in the east?
American style stealing edition
It's a reference to the spaghetti western flicks where someone is described as being the "fastest gunslinger in the West." Seeing as myth Buster's studio is in San Francisco, it would be a factual statement from a geographic perspective as well.
Anyone knows how to buy that kind of machine?
Aliexpress
Hurry up and buy!
💥🤣🤣🤣🤣
shawty was fine tho..
They don’t have the proper equipment, and that’s why it’s dangerous. With all the necessary stuff, it’s relatively safe.
and in under 2 mins my microwave can make a small bag of popcorn vs their 9 mins,. i could of made 4 small bags in that time.
of microwave popcorn though.
@@glennthisfieldisblank838 yea the microwave popcorn button for mini bags not full bags is 2.30 so basically 4bags microwave is 1200 watts.. like 6 months old
@@N0body247 but what you end up with is that rancid oil and too much salt and microwaved popcorn... there's nothing better about microwave popcorn. Look at how much packaging there is and that's enough to reject it.
@@glennthisfieldisblank838I prefer to work harder not smarter.
.very funny
Did they call Alton Brown for this?
No your mom did.
So the Chinese invented Rice Krispies too?
Most likely
No, I did.
I call BS! Fastest?? How?? Popcorn in microwave is 2.3 minutes!! Yours is passed 8 minutes. False advertisement
man they botched this one
Reminds you of your childhood, huh?
Nope
The narration's pause at mention of it's Chinese origins seem kinda xenophobic.
This thing pops everything not just corns, it does same for rice, quinoa or any seed base products.
