  • It's not a popcorn cooker.
It's a Crispy Popped Rice cooker.
The basic ingredients include plain rice, glutinous rice or wheat.
The grains are sealed in the pressure cooker and dry cooked over a slow fire for about 10 minutes,
    until it starts to pop

You need to spin it faster so it doesn't burn, and you shoot it into a canvas bag about six feet long, so you don't lose all the popcorn and make a mess. I've seen dozens of street vendors make popcorn this way in China. The popcorn is awesome and the explosion kicks ass.

This thing pops everything not just corns, it does same for rice, quinoa or any seed base products.

It took so long because the vessel was cold. If it was already pre-warmed up/hot, it would not take so long to build up pressure.

My dad built one of those when I was a kid, it’s not for popcorn but regular corn or any other grain like rice, wheat, quinoa, sorghum or even macaroni. You have to spin faster to keep from getting burnt, it’s only dangerous in the hands of amateurs 😊 I spent many hours running it when I was 11 years old

When you use this machine, you even don't need the kind of corn to make popcorn, it can make popcorn by all kinds of corns. Even the corn used to feed pigs and cattle.

Love how they're like it takes so long to pop when they used an enormous amount in a huge cooker lol

A cooker that was also cold rather than being already warmed up......
Smaller amount, faster spin, pre-warmed cooker = much better and faster popcorn

It's a reference to the spaghetti western flicks where someone is described as being the "fastest gunslinger in the West." Seeing as myth Buster's studio is in San Francisco, it would be a factual statement from a geographic perspective as well.
