The lions have one of the best offensive lines and should be able to open some serious lanes for this kid . Go lions .
This is true. Bama's O-line the past 2 seasons was not up to par. If he had been behind the 2020 O-line no one would be thinking about that back from Texas.
Sorry, I took you off of 69 likes 😢
Injury already, dud.
Gibbs can take over a game by himself yes indeed a true home run hitter.
Hes a burner forreal damnnn he's a more durable and faster DeAndre swift
@@goodfella8143 as a Dawgs fan, he def seems more agility
This isn't baseball silly
@@goodfella8143 Swift is in a Class by himself
More like a bench warmer since he is hurt already.
He’s so damn good . Go Lions !
The theory behind this pick was... We drafted Jameson Williams last year, now we go get gibbs and at anytime any place there are TWO players who are faster than any defender on the field and can score ANYTIME they touch the ball... Then you add La Porta to mix. This is gonna be fun
Speed kills! When Jamo and Gibbs are on the field, you definitely need more defenders than is allowed. Stay healthy O-line.
Gibbs a bust, hits the hole and dies. No moves..
@@psyborg06you wanna bet on it?
@@jacobowen4177 Son, you do realize this is a youtube comment section, right?
Awesome for sure
Absolutely electrifying! I am so happy to Lions got him can’t wait to see him and Montgomery both in the backfield at the same time
Bunch of people hated this pick when it was announced but the Lions had a plan and stuck with it. Gibbs is gonna be really good for them.
It’s not the player it’s the value for example they could have take him with their second first rounder or possible at the top of the second round. It’s not likely any of the remaining teams in the first would have drafted a running back
@@jonnyrosas5819 That’s crazy you can see into the future, I’m sure NFL GMs would kill for that skill so they know exactly when to draft players.
@@jonnyrosas5819 The thing is, there's no guarantee you will actually be able to pick him later. If he's your guy, you take him as soon as you have the opportunity to do so. Notice they immediately traded the oft-injured DeAndre Swift coming to the end of his rookie contract for a draft pick and now a game breaking first round rookie that is under their control on a rookie deal for up to 5 years. Sounds like great value to me.
@@jonnyrosas5819 he was not going to last far beyond 12
Love this pick 🦁 🦁 🦁
10:24 is the most impressive play on this compilation.
I haven't seen a guy with that amount of "go" since Ted Ginn. When Gibbs decides to accelerate he does it instantly. The way he just angles the first guy like he isn't even a threat, then sets the next one up with a stutter or drag step to make him lose the angle race is insane.
He then goes from that stutter to full sprint instantly. From 10 to 60 in a snap, the defender that initially had the angle is now eating dust.
That's crazy. Forget the TD runs and such, all nice, but that play I timestamped is wild. Rare ability.
Without checking ur timestamp I already know what play it was.. our rb room is gonna be filthy
Good eye, that was the play that opened my eyes to this kid. Spot on analysis that reminds me of Alvin Kamara.
I cannot believe some people are throwing shade on this pick, Can't wait to see him on the field!
Well everyone threw shade at the Steelers for taking a running back najee Harris at 24
His acceleration out of nowhere is insane. Could also be one of the best slot receivers in the NFL. I was pissed about a rb in the first but im excited. Excellent vison. Downhill no dancing. Im excited. Lets pray he stays healthy.
His stiff arm and durability for his size is nuts
as a lions fan u are quite literally predicted this
His durability is crazy for his size, it takes multiple defenders to take him down on seemingly every play. Definitely an upgrade from Swift.
@@JMatthewJohnson Nobody said he was "iMmUnE t0 INjuRy"...
He said durable and upgrade over Swift, both correct.
@@JMatthewJohnson we know hat. we just want somebody with top end speed unlike swift.
@@JMatthewJohnson nobody prone to injury duuh we just want him to be available the best ability is availability this dude rarely got hurt
He Plays ….. that’s the upgrade from Swift
@@bigfellamike1913Gibbs and Swift have basically the same 40 time. The difference is Gibbs vision.
With swift gone , this pick was worth it
Well duh man, that was the whole plan and reason why Brad got him. It was perfect time for swift to go. That whole quinntricia regime is about gone.
@@JMatthewJohnson Wrong. It's so obvious that Gibbs was taken with the foresight that Swift would be dealt. It was already preplanned by Holmes. You think they drafted Gibbs and were like oh no we got 3 RB's now what we gonna do! C'mon man
@@JMatthewJohnson They had it planned if they got gibbs to ditch him. Having gibbs hopefully gives them consistency. Plus they use him as a WR. Great pick IMO, and I think his character will also mean little issues like you would get with a carter
@@webechubbin gotta at least be thankful investing in the o line they brought in decker jackson ragnow glasgow and vaitai. that’s 4/5 of our starting line
What ppl don’t really see how diff he is from Swift is the Vision. Swift danced around and usually picks the wrong lane. You can see Gibbs create the lane by his angle and then explodes through the lane created. He always falls forward and the first defender never gets him down. That burst he has is just exceptional.
Indeed. Biggest thing I noticed is his patience in waiting for the hole and exploding. Reminds me of Aaron Jones.
yeah but swift was hurt
Swift didn’t have game changing speed
And swift couldn't stay healthy
Swift is awesome, he misses some but he also makes a ton of big plays and did so for Detroit. The first defender got Gibbs down a bunch of times in the video too.
I love this kid, I appreciate the 🦁 grabbing when they did. With his speed. He will be great for my 🦁's.
Now I understand the pick. Hope Lions plan for a big signing if they traded swift
They got David Montgomery a little while back, that’s there committee for the season
The stiff arm at 3:33 is filthy! Weclome to Detroit young man. One Pride
So glad he’s Detroit Lion!! Let’s go
He was a Ga. Tech yellow jacket before he was roll
tide. I’m wishing him much success in the NFL
And he left for a reason
Beast
Can’t wait to see how we use him as a runner and pass catcher once jamo comes back from his trip to Vegas we’ll be unstoppable
This is a better version of the Super Bowl caliber offense Detroit had in 2011.
Until Best had his career ended in game five against the niners, teams had to choose between Jahvid and Tron who to single cover. That offense shit on the league, winning their first five games and even trouncing a prime Brady and New England in the week three preseason game. That used to be the only preseason game that teams game planned for each other.
@@tonym2513 good old days. We may never see another Calvin Johnson bless an NFL field. Best lost his career to concussion and is a huge “what if” story.
@@joshanzell8929 oh, fer sher. Hall of famer. But now we will be able to feature that kind of speed with game breakers at two positions again for the first time since 2011. With a better o line to block it up, deeper rb room, better tight ends.
Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise, this 2023 team is looking stacked.
I’m not seeing where his receiving ability is good enough for him to be considered a legit receiving back
@@ItsDaYungin did you watch any of his tape? That’s his best attribute besides his speed, both translatable to the NFL
i cant wait to see what this dude does behind the Lions Oline..after Jamo gets back between him and st brown and gibbs..someone is gonna get the ball...no question.
People are sleeping on this pick man. They see “RB” and think man seriously at 12? You’re looking wrong, your eyes fooled you. The Lions will use this man like Deebo Samuel don’t kid yourself. They took Deebo 2.0 @ 12. If I told you that you would go wild. He’s not there yet but that’s the skill set he possesses. A smaller Deebo, develop his route running some more and watch what happens. Ben Johnson got the ultimate chess piece here.
I think we actually got Alvin Kamara 2.0 with him but Deebo is also a great comp :)
Where is this deebo comparison coming from there isn’t a single video of him even taking a snap at slot
Johnson won't leave lions till they win a superbowl....my prediction....just will b having to much fun playing 3D chess
10:30 , wow!
He looks small.. I HOPE he can up his game to NFL LEVELS! remember ppl , Barry was small but a freak of nature. He should not have been that Great in the NFL BUT HE WAS! I just can’t explain how great he was!
You know how GREAT he was....all you have to do is say his first name, and EVERYONE KNOWS who you're talking about.....BARRY!!!!
Gibbs certainly is not anywhere near Mr. Sanders ... I have been waiting for someone better since he retired. Ain't gonna happen in my lifetime.
@@LaJoBa1 The second coming of BARRY??? Something tells me there was only ONE runningback messiah...and he wore number 20!!!
That sets it. Gary Danielson said Gibbs is one of the best backs he's ever seen in the SEC. I'm convinced.
Lions had to have Bijan Robinson high on the list, but he is not really a shifty runner and more of a north south type similar in physicality to David Montgomery.
Gibbs runs make opponents look silly plus he can eventually be shifted to WR.
No offense, but that’s sort of ridiculous. Bijan has lateral cuts that make people look like children and cause me to worry for his knee tendons. He’s a mix of Barry and Adrian Peterson imo.
Having said that, I love the fit with Gibbs and loved the pick. Either back would be insane in this offense. Bijan catches the ball well, too.
It's a pick, match made in heaven... Look how ben johnson called offense last year... He threw so many curve balls, and with Bijan, teams defenses would effectively know whats coming. With Gibbs, you literally cannot prep for this, ESPECIALLY with Johnson at the helm. He's very versatile, and shifty like you said. It's one of the most "Detroit Lions" picks I've seen with this current regime. I love the pick, and was loathing about it, and loving it on draft night.
@@tonym2513 main difference between Gibbs and Robinson is Gibbs has break away speed that he can go to the house with.
@@tonym2513I just watched a Bijan highlight video, and that jumped out at me too. With his speed and size, you can see how much force he's putting on his knees with his quick cuts. Hope he stays healthy and maybe coaches can teach him to change his cutting technique.
@@BurntToast422I saw a vid where Bijan kind of addresses this concern. He has studied the greatest cutters/jukers in the game. He stays low, keeps his weight over his feet, and knows when and where to make a move.
Many people thought Barry's knees/ankles wouldn't hold up over time. But he was only injured once, and that was because his knee got driven into the turf with someone on his back, not from one of his crazy moves.
He’s much faster then swift
Gibbs is a true running back drains the clock. Smart runner
Him and Monty will be lethal with our O-line. Either could strike at any moment bringing a fear factor that any defense has to take note of. Both being able to catch makes defenses a lot harder to scheme against.
He's going to be absolute beast I can tell the way here or he get definitely got another gear o just make him more dangerously
He ran a 4.18 at the combine, the media tried to control his finish 🤷🏽♂️ still went 12.
When you pause his 40 time when he crosses the finish he was in the 4.1’s
He's going to kill it in fantasy 😮
Finally got our JAvid Best back
I really liked Reggie bush and Javid Best but this guy seems better than both
His vison is insane.. I wish my jags would’ve gotten him
That fumble call they let stand just proves he belongs with Detroit
Goff does not get nearly enough credit, he has had at least four season's with over 4000 yards and he usually throws 3 times as many Touchdowns than he does interceptions. He also gets grief about not having a strong arm and he flung four 60 yard passes in particular with no problem. He is the guy to bring us to the promised land. One Pride
The more I watch him the more I like the pick.If Jamal can get 1k yards Gibbs for sure can
1k all purpose, yeah. But not 1k rushing as he's not going to be a bellcow back
@@pkmntrainerian1092 Only have to avg. 59 ypg for 1,000 yds rushing. Gibbs will easily have 1,000+ all purpose yards this season and will have multiple 1,000 yd rushing seasons in his career, health permitting.
Welcome to Detroit
Its easy to be swayed by the long break away runs that you can drive a car through but this 13 yard run at 5:13 is one of the more impressive runs and most accurately shows how pro ready he is. Beats a fast guy to the edge, makes a man miss in space at speed, and finishes forward with power. its normal to be able to do 2 out of the 3 in the pros but to do all 3 is elite.
Think he's gonna be offensive rookie of the year ?
@@packersauburneric3625 well i thought so before I saw how little the lions used him week 1 against the chiefs. hoping they'll realize how bad/predictable their offense actually was despite winning that game (lions got super lucky with those 2 dropped passes which was a 14 point swing) and the need to utilize gibbs more. he's their most explosive player and looked great in the limited snaps he did play.
Gahdayum he fast.... 4.36 speed... wow....
With the Lions offensive line, who’s already contemplating taking this guy in your fantasy league??🤔😉
I'm already thinking about it
Good point gonna be a steal
How's that a fumble at the 4:40 mark... that's an atrocious call.
They called it back, just didn't show in the vid. Jeez
@@pkmntrainerian1092 nah, show proof, jeeez
@@sterlingferguson7234 Check the game log. ) Fumbles. Geeze.
Is it just me or does he remind you of Chris Johnson?
He does for sure, bit it's crazy to think Johnson was even faster!
Wow, Just Wow
Agreed (with contrast in 2 diff players)! Should create some “instant O” for DET and hopefully (what I presume their intentions are:) develop a presence on ground that is a legit threat on Sundays, even if it balances offense or weighs the scale in favor of play action heavy schemes; Less pressure on QB andd DEf to overproduce
🤯DUDE! "Special" doesn't even BEGIN to say it. You open up a sliver of daylight in front of him, and...bam. He cuts upfield, & its nothin but a hot smoke trail. That kids a damn home run waiting to happen on every touch. So happy he's Detroit bound. LET'S GOOOOOOO LIONS!!!!!! 🦁 💪
GIBBY 🔥
Take a shot for how many times they compared him to Kamara in this compilation Challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
kamara 2.0
Not really. Kamara has 15lbs on Gibbs and is a legit threat in between the tackles. Gibbs is too small to run up middle
@@astrahl he’s literally running up the middle
@@astrahl @ 1:25 the commentators even compare him to kamara
@@michaeltaylor6391 not in the nfl. Doesn’t work like that against nfl athletes. He will get killed. He can still be good. But he’s not similar to kamara in that way
@@astrahl He's going to put on some lean muscle mass in the next few years. He's only 21
He seems to have skills like Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum combined. A guy who can accelerate in the open field like Edwards and chop run cutting moves through traffic like Corum.
As a Saints fan, I can say this man looks like Alvin Kamara on steroids.
Very patient runner. I keep hearing Chris Johnson comparisons. But I think he runs similar to leveon bell or Alvin kamara
It's a mix of Chris and alvin
With some power too. He doesn't go down easily.
His speed on madden should be 100 got damn lol
98 minimum
With 100 acceleration 😮
Because speed can control a game offense ,defenses, and special teams.teams with those things can control a game
The most explosive versatile college back since Reggie Bush at USC
OK, people...now, just imagine your on defense and the lions got this kid, now what are you going to do when you Also see Jameson Williams line up next to him on Any given play??? How are you going to defend that????
Oh, and not only those 2, the lions Also have Aman ra, as well, oh and the other receiver we just got back this year, Marvin Jones, oh boy, I can't wait to see my lions football this season, it's gunna be lit !!!!
Getting his jersey for sure
🔥🔥🔥🔥
You make one mistake on defense with this guy and it's over it's definitely a touchdown
why were most of these clips the quarterback jalen milroe instead of bryce young?😂
Dude is a beast
He’ll be good this year, then even better when he plays with Hendon Hooker. The threat of a real play action or RPO will keep opposing defenses guessing
Ooooh ….. I Can’t WAIT!!!!
Try and stop the Lions !
There's one thing I can't seem to understand about Gibbs. How in the hell does his 29.98 BMI fall into the obese range? How??
guy in my league offered me CMC for gibbs. idk i think i gotta go with gibbs
Young can thank Gibbs 😂😂
I’m just smiling in the back as an eagles fan, you guys definitely coulda got him with y’all’s 2nd 1st rounder
No fuckn way
Gibbs and Jamo are going to be a problem for the league!
Let’s just pray their not a “problem “ for the Lions. Jamo specifically
I always wish the the lions got.some.speed.espeically on the defensive end and corners.i would draft nothing but speed.good pick
I'm betting he will win offensive rookie of the year
And now Gibbs and Hooker are going to be teammates.
Jahmyr Gives
Highlights? More like every possession. Do we really have to wait through a 2 yard run to see a highlight?
Yeah this video is terrible. Running through a wide open hole for 4 yards
Gibbs is from my hometown😫
same
He certainly isn't gonna a be a pro bowler ... He reminds me of Swift ... Without the hesitation. If the O line gives him a hole he'll take it north... Is he a game changer? Nah.... he will work well with the Lions scheme though.
I got a feeling jameer gives is going to shock the NFL
It's Jahmyr, but yeah
reminds me alvin kamara
He is going to need space I think, first guy that hits him seems to give him problems, I guess we will find out.
My comp? Sturdier Pacheco
I like Gibbs a lot but I can't wait to see Swift light it up with the Eagles...Lions gave up on him for no reason whatsoever. Lions had a terrible defense last year, they didn't have the luxury to spend a top 12 pick on a RB....
He was always hurt. Durability is a trait all RBs must have or they will be quickly kicked to the curb in the NFL.
Better watch the preseason
"Can't wait to see Swift" yeah neither could the Lions, that's why they traded him. They ran out of patience with all the time he was injured. And you say they didn't have the luxury to spend a top 12 pick on him because of their defense, but completely forget they redid their ENTIRE secondary in FA.
@@pkmntrainerian1092 We will see if that revamped defense works out, I like the lions and their coach a lot and I was rooting for them as the underdogs all last year, super fun team. I just don't know if any RB is worth a top 12 pick, for Gibbs is basically Alvin Kamara production or bust. As far as swift goes....clearly the whole story wasn't being told to the public but he was very efficient on his limited touches last year once he came back from injury but it was like they had no interest in using him. Sure if you're worried about him getting banged up then limit his reps but they basically decided to completely phase him out of the offense. It'll be interesting to see if him and Rashaad penny can stay healthy in Philly, two of the most dynamic but injury prone backs in the league lmao if they stay healthy the eagle's run game is going to be the best in the league.
@@PAKgymnastics I'd be shocked if Philly didn't have the #1 rushing offense in the NFL last year. Combine their top tier Oline with their talented (albeit some injury prone) RBs, and a dual threat QB, it would take a disaster for them to not be #1
Gibbs is good...but let's face it...us LIONS fans were SPOILED by number 20!!! Once you've been to the TOP of the mountain...no other VIEW will ever be AS GOOD!!!
A lot of these plays are not highlights
Cj 2.0
I actually am just as impressed with these highlights as with Bijon Robinson’s. The one who out shadows all of them is Adrian Peterson. His college highlights are insane.
Check out Barry Sanders hahaha
Detroit took Gibbs over Jalen Carter will see how that works out
Carter wasn't even a consideration. The Lions don't draft low character guys like him. There was NO shot he was going to Detroit as they don't want someone like that in their locker room. Another year's worth of evidence as nearly every draft AGAIN this year were captains of their teams etc... Carter was NEVER going to Lions.
@@arthurfonzarelli9828 I agree and had everyone at work telling me I was foolish not wanting carter ..
I did want Carter the football player but I did not want carter the person and I knew the lions would feel the same way ..
But was 100 percent surprised with the pick and happy with it knowing swift is gone
You cant coach character.
football guys think this is one of the best picks in the draft, an egregious reach to the rest. god the internet makes people stupid.
Those kick returns should not be in here
This is a terrible highlight reel. Take out the 4/5 yard runs. Leave just the big plays.
He's gonna struggle this season. Mark my words. Not even hating.. he just don't pass the eyetest. There's only potential if he improves his vision and footwork. All he is does is outrun or run outside... Not gonna fly in NFL. Bijan RIbinson gonna do better, but flop too cuz of Timeshare. (FALCONS HAVE NO QB) Its crazy the Fantasy Football hype he's receiving lmaoo. Highlight this comment. Come back 2024 😎
I don't understand how you can say that. He's only played 18 snaps this preseason. You can't have an assessment on just 18 snaps.
@madden1331 Not basing off of preseason. Basing off Tape. Footwork looks Rough* he'll have the holes against Bum defenses. But won't Crack TOP 10 by week 7.
@@Remi10pm gotcha.
He's got speed but other than that I'm not seeing anything that makes a 12th overall pick for him justifiable. They could have gotten a back just as good in the later rounds. SOL
😂
Hold on. 10:29 doesn’t even seem real.
Yeah, that burst after the missed tackle is ridiculous.
If he doesn't have 99 acceleration in Madden 24, we riot
Terrible Highlight vid
Let me tell you something he is not as good as everybody thinks pay attention
I mean I love Gibbs as a player but he’s not Alvin Kamara. Kamara can run between the tackles and has 15lbs on Gibbs
Kamara wasn't that special in college. He had to transfer from Bama to a horrible Tennessee program to be able to see the field. Yet he developed in the NFL. You're acting like Gibbs won't develop. BTW, I saw quite few runs between the tackles in the video. All Gibbs needs is a crease and he's gone.
Lions fans are gonna be very disappointed we valued him more than Swift. Expect Swift to have a huge season in Philly
Or be injured again and ride the bench per usual
@@khall187 he missed 10 games over 3 seasons, you make it sound like he missed 20. And they barely played him when he was healthy. And when they did give him the ball it was big play after big play. Big mistake imo
@@HBK360MUSICeven when he wasn’t missing games we were having to nurture his workload. Plus he’s afraid to run between the tackles, goes east-west too much, and has lackluster vision. @@HBK360MUSIC He didnt play because he wasnt healthy he hurt his self shortly after coming back this past season and then they just used him exclusively as the number 2 back. Wish him the best in philly but the best ability is availability.

Man I wish he went later on to a better team. I hate seeing rbs go early in the draft to sorry teams.
Lions had a winning season last year and are projected to win the division this year... stfu with that nonsense.
Really? You obviously haven’t paid any attention to the lions or NFL in general if you think the lions are a sorry team. They went 8-2 in their last 10 games and are projected to win the north this year. This isn’t the same lions of old.
Lions will be better than your team
You must not watch the NFL
