You send it with the piston you wanna use (usually pick the smallest one) so as it wears you still have many options to simply get the next size up piston. It’s very impressive what these replate/repair shops like Millenium Tech. can fix. Cylinder comes back better than new
If just replating, typically say 250-300 USD, and from experience bore size doesn’t matter for cost. Repairs obviously add a bit more, cracked exhaust bridge repairs, cracked cylinder skirt repairs, power valve repairs, it really is impressive what they can save! Especially with how hard some of these cylinders are to find new these days, the re-working of them is frequently the cheaper option!
So if it's too big like your 2nd example, what's the remedy? Rebore or is there something else like a special piston or rings etc?
