I think this was when we were actually appreciating Ronaldo and not constantly comparing his every single movement to Leo. It sucks because now people wont even enjoy Ronaldo.

Easy to forget just how absolutely immense Ronaldo was. And this is arguably before his prime.

Unbelivable longevity... at that point cr7 was already playing proffesionally for at least 6 or 7 years...(most plqyers would have gone through their prime after playing that long)... yet cr7 wasnt even in his prime... prime cr7 was when he moved to real madrid... he scored more goals then the number of games he played... in 6 years... 15 years later, he is still playing football... while players younger then him have long retired (cough, rooney, cough)
Rooney had some serious surgery done on his head, so cut him some slack.

Ronaldo has even that he learned to be a footballer at Sporting, but he learned to be a professional at United. Characters like Neville, Keane, Rooney, Scholes, Giggs, etc around to teach players what hard work was, in conjunction with his amazing skill, turned him into the amazing player he is. Knuckle ball is nice
For sure! At a glance it looks like it's right at the box because of how quick it goes but no, just crazy power.
Cristiano kept on improving even after he moved to Madrid and became even more of a clincal beast. But from 2006-2009 it was so special to watch him really evolve from raw talent to being the best player in the world inside 3 years. Great days

dude it's frustrating watching him flick uselessly and giving the ball away, maybe he had the luxury of giving away the ball while trying out different things since utd was so much in control of the game.
Incredible, we’ve watched him grow throughout his career & always comparing him with Messi… Both amazing sportsman & we shall be grateful being able to watch Ronaldo & Messi…
Bro, are we going to ignore all those bad passes. No vision or reading, but look at him now his passes are insane good vision, playmaker, and reading skills
I said the same; this is a terrible game for him, so many bad passes
@@BounceHeaven atleast he tried forward pass instead of choosing an easier option of sideway pass which today's footballers do.
he had so many chances to just pass it simple but yet he was doing all that useless fancy playing which manu could have scored@@BounceHeaven
@@BounceHeaven you can’t be joking right? He scored one of the most difficult free kicks and you said it was a terrible game for him. He scored 2 goals, you surely must be watching another game right?
@@Sc4380 no ones joking here mate. i'm sorry but 1 stunning goal and 1 decent finish doesn't make it a great game. a game of football is 90 minutes and the amount of time spent during those goals were about 15-30 seconds including some of the build up passage. its a poor game with 2 brilliant moments. simple as that. what you want to see is 2 brilliant moments with at least a good (if not great) other parts of the game. Because in the end how many more times did he score a free kick like that? is it worth 89 minutes of sub par football in the hope that he scores a free kick like that once every 10 games? this wasn't a good game for him just a good goal!

Real madrid is not a club to just buy a player off one match, you have to be incredibly consistent across a whole season for real madrid to consider putting pen to paper, its not only this match ronaldo pulled through, but it was all the games of the season he was a part of, consistently extraordinary winger, midfielder, goalscorer and thats why real not only put pen to paper for hik, but made him the most expensibe ever player back in that time as well
well no one actually thought that they bought off of one match. The title is just to shed more light on how good of a game it was for CR7

Some people literally say he is not in their top 3 or top 5 greatest of all times. You can like Messi but this is a bit too far. His first stint at United alone gets him in the top 10 if you see it objectively. It's just that we were tooooo spoiled by him and the other guy that what he did during 2003 to 2008 seems normal to us. They did something for more than a decade which if done by any player during 2 or 3 seasons, they literally become a Salah or a Neymar. THAT says a lot.
Bro Ronaldo is third best of the history, Messi is second and Pele is first. Cant believe these 2 guys we are looking at right now went inside of the top 5 best of the history to a level only Pele could reach... Better than Nazario, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, ETC. Thats high man... HIGH...
This is the order: Pele is the best brazilian player ever existed. Ronaldo is the best Portugal player ever existed. Messi is the best Argentina player ever existed.
Pele is the best player of the history
Ronaldo is the best player of the best club in the history (Real Madrid)
Messi is the best player of the actuality and the best player of the history of Barcelona
If you think about that, they are the best players of almost everything that really matters in football...
Top 5: Messi, Ronaldo Nazario, Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar

the transfer itself is the greatest in football history, because of that we can see rilvaries between Leo and Ronaldo. Thank your Sir Alex
They tried to buy him 4 times before they got him. 2 of those happened before this game.
The first time was after the WC, when the thing with Rooney happened and Ronaldo said he wanted to leave. SAF asked him to stay and Rooney called and said things in the field stay in the field. That actually prompted their best season as a pair up to date.
In the 06-07 season, he got nominated for the Ballon D'Or. Before Madrid wanted him when he was just a tricky winger, now a winger scoring tons of goals, destroying Roma in the UCL, and Ballon D'Or Nominee....they wanted him more and in that summer went again.
07-08 was obvious, he became the best in the world, won the UCL, the best scorer in the PL (still as a winger) and scored in tons of important games. Mind you, he had a criticism of not showing up in important games...a stupid criticism, because he did show up in some just not as regularly, this season he showed up in almost all of those hard/important games.
And of course Madrid went again, SAF got angry and insulted Madrid. He said he would never sell to them...but in his mind he knew he couldn't keep Ronaldo from his dream club.
08-09, there was a little dip in form (mainly because of an injury he picked at the beginning of the season that took some time to heal fully). He was still United's most important attacking player, he got to another final...and lost to his future nemesis Leo.
This time, they couldn't hold him and in the fourth attempt he finally went to Madrid. But SAF made sure United at least got paid REALLY WELL, he became football's most expensive transfer at that time.
era su momento mas completo
