  • In this video we unbox the latest offering from Arrma, the Talion EXB RTR edition. Weighing in at a whopping $700.00 plus dollars, this car has a lot to live up to. Touted as the 70 mile per hour out of the box super truck - with the optional gearing, of course - this should prove to be one of Arrma's fastest production dirt cars. Things do not go so smoothly, however, as the Talion meets it's EXB nemesis - the stock EXB front arms. Come along as AJ takes you through this new car and then puts it to the test, both on 4s and then on 6s. Dirt ripping, area bashing, and big jumps are on order as this latest video from AJJAMStudios takes to the screen.

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety

      Totally agree. The materials they use are simply better. Their products are more flexible, handle cold weather better, and take a pounding before breaking; if they break at all. I've had the best luck with RPM components all the way from the Xmaxx to my 10th scale cars. They all seem to hold up beautifully. I put them on all of the cars in my collection that break arms, when they are available from RPM, of course. AJ

      It’s been a minute since I set that rig up but I believe the shocks still have the stock oil in them, as is our normal for the channel for an RC that controls well right out of the box. The diffs were all inspected and refilled. As I remember it was 30K front, 50K rear, and 100K center. It felt good with the tire weight and controls well for our driving style. Thanks for asking 👍

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety

      I understand. In my experience I have had to replace the pinion because the threads were too loose. The fit of the pinion and the set screw is very important. Perhaps the one you got with your model was out of tolerance. Just an idea for you. And one more thing, heat softens loctite so using more on bad threads usually does not help much. I hope you get this issue resolved. 😎👍

    For the type of driving you were doing in this video, high speed dirt, corrugations, smaller jumps etc would you recommend the Mojave or Kraton 1/5 scale? And would you mind telling me why you would choose the one you did? Thanks and good job on your videos!

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety +2

      That would be a matter of what the driver is into. Each car has its charms. The Mojave is awesome for a desert racer, fast, awesome to watch run, and it’s tough as nails. The Kraton 6s EXB is cool too but in different ways. With some mild modding this thing is super durable. It is fast, jumps well, and is powerful. I would say the Kraton is a bit more versatile however. You mentioned 5th scale, again, it’s a different animal altogether. I bought the V2 RTR because we usually get the RTR before we get the EXB. As things stand right now, the 5th scale Kraton RTR is number one in our collection. But again, it is all a matter of choice for the driver. Performance, brute force, all around toughness, these all play a part. My favorite out of these three rigs has to be the Kraton 8s but it is a close thing. For me, any of them would make for an awesome day out bashing. I hope this helps 😎👍

    • @AJJAMStudios

      If your Outcast is a 6s, then you should try the Talion tires for the oval. I think they will allow for more control and acceleration without trying to stand up every time you pull the trigger. And for the punch setting, if you can spin the wheels at a start then the punch is set plenty high enough. Remember, the higher the punch setting the shorter the runtime due to amp draw.
