Nice video, for anyone who wants to OC his ks0 pro to this level bear in mind that you will have to replace the two 5 amps fuses or else they will overheat (not blow) and the miner will restart all the time
Good stuff! Like you alluded to, the issue is one of static pressure. The larger shroud simply addresses this by dumping some of the air to the outside, but i don't know that it actually sends much more air over the power stages (maybe a little bit, because you don't have as much reverse buffering of air due to the insane pressure).
More 'powerful' (higher SP) fans are an option, but that often means higher RPMs and thus noise. But pressure is additive w/ fans in series, so I would guess the best option for just power stage cooling while still being relatively quiet would probably be a fan on both ends (push/pull) w/ these more directed shrouds. Or technically you could try to just stack fans on one end for push/push, though ideally you want them spinning in opposite directions, which would probably be hard to find.
You're the man brotha! I always love hearing what you have to say about my set up and tweaks that I've made. The push pull method definitely helped cool off the power stages, but then it seemed like the chip temps dropped too much again. I'm new to 3D printing but eventually I want to try to design my own shroud with a smoother transition and maybe one that covers the barrel plug as well. More FAFO sessions to come! Thanks for all your help and input! :)
I also use the push/pull method using two high SP fans. The main reason though is safety. If I am overclocking with only 1 fan and it fails ..... disaster. Thus two fans
@johngermain5146 I agree 💯 👍 I like to push these things to the limit just to see what they can do. But that's when I can watch them closely. If I know I won't be around to keep an eye on things I'll put an extra fan on to make it push pull again for sure
How far have you been able to push your KS0 Pro?? 🚀
300gh
Im maxed mine at 320 gh i figure its safer number to run at my biggest concern is fire must be safe
@@thecanadianpunk-miner4life I agree, safety first. I like to push these things hard for fun, just to see what they can do. Probably will add the exhaust fan back on for safety
Bro! You grabbed the Bambu!!! 💪
Yes sir! And I bought your download for the big boy Kaspa ASIC shrouds! I don't know how I went so long without a 3D printer. Love this thing so far!!
U get it!.
I bought 2 fans, first the 5v ac infinity s3 and the high speed ac infinity 1238.
The s3 performs best on the metal deck, dropping from 72c to 62c exhaust. Although I think my shroud is not the best because of the reverse pressure and the loss of wind(Bottlened). So adding the 1238 barely reduces your maximum exhaust of 58C.
With 320 Mhz and 30 mv I only get 280/310 GH and maximum temperatures of 121C maximum power and 90C exhaust. Not worth it. Silicone lottery, I guess...
Also with 1238 I hear a very harsh sound when I try to sleep with my family.
Yeah I hear ya, the fans can be noisy! Maybe try noctua fans? I used some in this video and they are impressive how quiet they are! czcams.com/video/GuaZdZwdodo/video.htmlsi=ImbZoKJWNA6swoe_
#shroud I replaced my failed TVM barrel to 6pin power cable with a 6 pin power socket (Ebay seller 1990dfring) and a PCIE power cable to my 750W HP Server p/s (12V). Tswift @ 300 Ghz, chip temp avg. 65C. 10" box fan blowing from Power Connector end w/ plates removed, Heatsinks installed, repasted and new Thermal Pads. Internal Fans moved to outside...
That sounds like a really nice set up!
I get 300 gh/s with vr temps of 80c. Using the green shrouds from meter box. Those shrouds blow too much air outside over the fins. I see why you want to blow air inside over the copper fins but temps rise fast once you exceed 300 gh/a. #Shroud
It really is a difficult balance once you get to the 300gh range. Little tweaks make a difference, and it takes forever to watch to see the results after each small adjustment. It can be maddening lol Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!
Great video.
I try and keep mine near 300GH. Seems anything higher. Really pushing these.
Have you tried solo mining again? Im really surprised how it’s doing better than pool mining past month. Just FYI
I know what you mean about pushing them too much harder. Seems like these things somehow, so far, have held up to me absolutely abusing the crap out of them lol. Probably won't last as long this way. But the power stages and chip temps are under control at the moment. Guess time will tell! Lol
I printed that same skinny shroud and trying it on mine. I haven't tried to see how far I can push it though. I was worried about how hot is too hot on the power stages. #shroud
It's worth a shot, I did get pretty impressive results, but I'm also worried it just won't cut it long term
WoW :O 360GH!! Amazing video! keep up the great work!
Thanks PJPlayhouse! I finally achieved my quest to get 360gh lol
@@GreaterGoodMining its amazing! its not many people who made that :D
@PJPlayhouse twas not an easy path lol 😅
@@GreaterGoodMining Yea I bet
Awesome setup 👍 do I need to get a 3d printer now?😂
Yes brotha! I can't believe I went this long without one.. dooo it! 🙃
Yo dude those CMP cards I bought seem to be stuck at memory clock 810 no matter what I put. Ovalbore told me if they go over temps 81 it will stay at default I put Dell Blower fans a they running about 72 but still stuck at 810 why?
I'm not sure what you're asking? CMP cards? Did you mean to respond to a different video?
Try work inside of the refrigerator to see what will happen.. I only got about 300-310G...but...chip temperatura is only 37 celsius... With pbfarmer too... With usb fan side barrel plug...
Those chip temps are too low. There is a sweet spot for optimal functioning when it comes to chip temps. The minimum I want my chips to be running on the KS0 Pro is in the low 50's
@@GreaterGoodMining I guess that's why I can't speed it up anymore
Wait what? this is well..., Great!
LOL, I agree! 360gh has been the Holy Grail for me and I finally hit the mark!! 😀
I'm afraid to overclock this tinny machine, Also love the bambu lab, been looking to replace my flsun qqs pro for a while and it's my first choice by now :) #shroud but from Canada hahaha
Yeah it's always risky overclocking these things, especially to this extent lol But I have fun fun with this stuff and like to push them to the max just to see what they can handle HaHa I'm loving mt Bambu labs 3d printer right now!
Amazing Video Man, love your KS0 Pro modding content 👏🚀 #shroud
Thanks Raptor I appreciate it! This one was fun to make :)
I have a new KS0 Pro sitting in the box with a 230W power brick. Looking for a reason Not to auction it off for a quick profit. Thanks for the motivation. I think 51' C is fine for the barrel plug. #Shroud
Nice! Have fun with it 👍 Thanks for letting me know your opinion on the a barrel plug, I agree 50c doesn't seem too bad. It was warm to the touch but that's it
Im sorry I missed it, what is the difference between this overclock and the other ones?
With this firmware you adjust the overclock and voltage yourself. This way you can optimize your settings for your specific machine to get the most out of it
#shroud I don’t know how you are running at those power stage temperatures. My KS0 pros will crash out the power stage if they stay above 100 for an extended time.
For some reason the most recent two KS0 Pro's that I have tolerate the higher temps on the power stages without any problem. Might be that silicon lottery
Dunk it, problem solved. 🙂
I have a feeling I will do that eventually HaHa Love this stuff!!!
@@GreaterGoodMining Immersion is the future IMHO.
@basementracer7622 seems like you can't beat it. Quiet, efficient etc. If I had property I would definitely be looking at immersion
what is your clock offset setting? thanks mate
435 is where I landed for this video
#shroud At this point looking to increase hashrate anyway possible since the Pro is making just around $1 for me now. Thank you for the video and chance to win a shroud!
Thanks for watching! I'm hoping that Kaspas price goes up and rewards all the miners who have stuck with it and supported the project! :] Good luck in the giveaway!
#shroud Great video, the barrel plug is concerning
Thanks for watching! Yeah that barrel plug gets hot 🔥 🥵
@@GreaterGoodMining im using same kind of shroud, the only difference is my plug is on the inside and gets cooling
it goes in through a hole on the side of the shroud...
got it on etsy
i have a ductfan between two kso (suck air in through 1 and blows out the other)uses 40w and works better then the pc fans
placing the fan between 2 also makes it more easy to push air through those small openings.
for sure alot of power is wasted because of trying to blow alot of air throught those small openings
if the fan is not beteween it will push some air back, when it tryes to force air through the openings
🤯
Mind blown! Lol
#shroud I'm from France so I'm not participating, but I really enjoyed the video!
Nice printing, what is your 3d printer?
Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting!! The 3D printer I have is the Bambu Labs P1S. It's a bit expensive compared to the others, but I'm new to 3D printing and I heard that Bambu are pretty easy to work with. They self level etc., So far it seems very user friendly. I went with the P1S because it is enclosed and that apparently makes printing with ABS possible. I want my shrouds to be ABS because it's more resistant to the heat that our miners can produce. Thanks again for watching and commenting, I appreciate the support!
@GreaterGoodMining Thank you for taking time to answer :)
@@BartsB18C6 no prob!🙂

My temps are great using a server fan with meterbox shroud, #shroud
Yeah I think that's the way to go. Powerful single fan and a MeterBox shroud FTW
Great video! I need to tweak mine more...
#shroud
Yeah there is always a risk with overclocking and modifying for sure. I have fun messing with these things so I can't help myself lol. This is my first 3d printer and I love this thing. The on I have in this video is a Bambu Labs PS1
Thanks, I appreciate you watching! Good luck with the giveaway :]
Why do they have to be warmer? What happens when you cool them too much?
The chips have an optimal operating temperature. Think of your car engine, it likes to operate in a certain temperature range too. When the chips run too cold, they don't perform as well 🥶
@@GreaterGoodMining ah very interesting! Never imagined. I always thought the cooler you could get them, the harder you could run them for peaks 🫡 super cool stuff
@@lilsnavelz Gotta find the Goldilocks zone for your specific miner to get the most out of it :] But in general colder isn't always better when it comes to chip temps
@GreaterGoodMining always appreciate the information! 😀 I don't have any mining rigs, I feel like I've gotten informed a bit late in the game where it's almost better for me to invest in the coins rather than rigs. Amazing stuff to watch though
@lilsnavelz I think we're at the point where if you buy mining equipment now you could still stack some coins but soon it will make sense to sell daily, then soon after that it'll make sense to sell the equipment
#shroud, thanks for the vid, usa. i love mining and 3d printing content
I can't believe it took me this long to get a 3D printer. It blows my mind what you can do with these things 😮
Awesome content sir!! thanks #shroud
Thank you I appreciate that! Good luck in the giveaway!

My veteran miner power cable melted into my ks0 pro. Even with a fan right on it. Hopefully I can fix it.
Oh damn :-0 Yeah those cables aren't meant for use on overclocked KS0 Pro's. I hope you can fix it. I believe The Veteran Miner has a video where he solders a new 6 pin connector to the KS0 PRO IIRC. Might want to check out his videos and look for that one specifically
@@GreaterGoodMining or avoid all those problems and solder the power cable direct to the board
@Hansen710 I feel like my barrel plug temps are OK as is. But if you're using a lower voltage power supply and you don't want to use a shroud that blows air over the barrel plug then I agree, that's a good way to get around it 👍
looking forward to win your #shroud :)
The winner for the shroud was already picked last week. This is an older video, but thank you for watching and commenting!
#Shroud - USA - Keep it up!!!
Thanks JokerMiner! Good luck in the giveaway brotha!
Sick video bro! #shroud
Thanks I appreciate it! It was a fun one to make!
xt 60 plug work great for me
100c is crazy, are you sure does fans blow? because my ks0 pro is like 60 with my high speed fans. think I will try 360, because 320 might be to cool for me? ;)
The power stage max temps are 125c before the unit will shut down. The chip temps are totally different. Chip temps seems happiest in the 60's or 70's for the pro
@@GreaterGoodMining do you know a way to set 1000mhz? can only do 993,75 mhz Powerstage only 68c and 50 c chip, put a extra fan on the 12v cable / 6 pin adapter.
was thinking I needed a higher rpm fan for this. but my small 120mm works =)
I get over 360 with 380 peaks with a full shroud on the power side, generic 235cfm 6000rpm fan @ 30% for over two months. You should only pull 190 watts to get that output. And yes, kick that barrel plug to the curb. If it's hot to the touch, divert. No Predator needed. The constant resistance on that barrel plug isn't affected by a fan. The mosfet's should only be hitting 60-70. Lesser quality KS0's are going to plunge to the low 200g's and not put up with all of that. You guys spend too much money on these these little guys that pump out less that $45 a month.
Silicon lottery is definitely different for everyone. I have fun modding and messing with my KS0 Pro's :] The barrel plug is warm to the touch, not hot. I did say a higher cfm fan and a single shroud would probably work best. I'll be trying that next as I said in the video. Happy mining!

Is it possible to overclock ks0 ultra and al box
Probably will be able to overclock the Ultra. ALbox, I don't know, havnt heard anything yet, but I'd be willing to bet someone is working on it

@@GreaterGoodMining ok super merci
#shroud for my ks0 pro and or ks0
Thanks for watching 👀 The shroud will work for either one :]
You didnt show how much power your now drawing at the wall on that laptop charger my guess is your over the 80% rule?
I did show it in the video. I showed the Meter Box again and talked about it. It was 220 watts total including the fans. So the actual KS0 Pro itself was pulling about 200 watts, the fan separately was pulling about 22 watts. It's a 240 watt power supply. So I'm about at the 80% rule
@@GreaterGoodMining I assumed when you showed the box that was before adjustments. I'm very surprised it wasn't drawing more cool!
@thecanadianpunk-miner4life Sorry I probably should have slowed down a bit when I showed my final settings and power consumption. I watched the video again and it was a pretty quick transition lol
It’s an old wives tale - or at least just a misunderstanding that’s been repeated so often it’s now assumed to be true. 80% rule is for building circuits running a constant load. PSUs are made to run their rating - *on the load side*. Which means line side (at the wall) can be even higher
