Recently in Vietnam we had a big flood. It engulfed most of the countryside. Despite the natural disaster, Au Lac's spirit perseveres to create such a beautiful work. I am very proud of the Vietnamese people !!!❤️❤️

Imagine going to an art university in the UK and getting a degree in sculpture... then visiting Vietnam and feeling like a 5 year old compared to these guys who just have a basic work shop that literally gets flooded every year

I feel like there’s no words to properly describe this miraculous skill and exquisite detail you put into each and every piece. My husband first shared the video of Venom and I was floored. This piece nearly moved me to tears, honestly, to see such beautiful mastery come to life from nature!

@@tekman4932 Its insane. We're all humans but each has an some innate ability/skill thats able to WOW other humans. I could be studying under the wood carver for the rest of my life and I still wouldnt make anything close to 1% of what he makes in his sleep

I am visiting Vietnam in the next couple of weeks for the first time and I hope I see some carvers at work although not expecting to see such work as this. Man, sculpture is probably the most impressive form of art there is.. Goodness, these guys are masters.. I once did carving to make simple animal figures and it's nowhere close to this..
This dragon is incredible but we join together to buy him a noise-canceling headset, he will become deaf working for hours with a chainsaw like this.
I'd also recommend he get some eye protection.

FYI, Vietnamese workers barely use any kind of protective clothes in this kind of work. The most common thing they use maybe the mask

Paintings (even the smallest and in a spilt style) where you can correct mistakes cost a lot of money, and working in wood you don't have these privileges.
I think this sculpture could transform your whole workshop, although as I see it you already have everything you need.
(Except maybe kevlar leggings and goggles with replaceable lenses).

Hello friends, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The verses above are the first three verses in The Book of Mormon. I know this probably isn't the most ideal place to talk about religion but I really do want you to know that God loves you. You may not love Him or care about Him at all, but He still will continue to love you. You are a beloved son or daughter of God. He knows you personally and He truly and deeply desires for your happiness. He loves everyone who has every lived on this earth, with a perfect equal love regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, faith and values and beliefs. The Lord loves you more than you can think or comprehend. "He inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile" 2 Nephi. He is our loving, caring Heavenly Father. We are literally His children and creations. When we were in the womb, he knew about us" Jerimiah 4:5. He knitted us and we were created in His image.
I testify to you that you and I are not a mistake. He knows the very moment when we stand and when we sit. He is familiar with all our ways and knows us personally who we are. He only wants the best for you and your well being. He wants to experience everlasting joy and indescribable happiness in this life and in the life to come. He wants you to partake of His goodness and come and follow Him. The Lord does not care how early or late you decide to come unto Him. I testify to you that if you have strayed and wondered off the path that there is hope in Jesus Christ, The Savior of the world. The Lord accepts those who come unto Him whether your early, late or just in time who desire to change. The Lord will accept you wholeheartedly and forgive you if you are willing to change. The Lord will welcome you and will always be ready to embrace you with open arms. The Lord will lift us up in our trials and use us to bless the lives of those around us if we are willing to change.

He will never be too busy to talk to. He will give you strength you need to overcome and conquer your temptations and will give you the strength you need to endure through your trials and afflictions. Paul said that The Lord will not give you temptations that you cannot resist, but that in your temptations, He will provide a way for you to resist, overcome and conquer them. He will provide a way. He wants to bless you and reward you abundantly. The Lord knows you and will not forget you. You are loved. You are utterly amazing. You have incredible potential. You are not forgotten or ever will be forsaken. You are special. You are unique. You are one of a kind. You have been reserved for this time and The Lord needs you on His side.
It simply would not be the same without you. That is just how much the Lord need you on His side.

I love the artwork. The detail and the vision, the management of that overall as well as the skillful control of the chainsaw - that little chainsaw was cute for a chainsaw! - and the skillful use of the chisels and other carpentry tools was really really beautiful and impressive. I enjoyed seeing you gradually refine the shape. I particularly enjoyed the carving out of the hollow bits, and the fine details of the scales and the additional fans & flame. The final result is impressive and beautiful too.
I can't carve at anything like that level but I just inherited my father's carpentry tools: we'll see where that leads!
You showed great resilience battling the floods, made it look almost funny - I am sure it definitely very much was not, not altogether funny at all! But looking on the bright side is sometimes helpful. 🤷❤️
Shame about the MMORPG character names which made me go "woah" - some political currency & blend of mythology to it!! Ismael - illegitimate/abandoned son of Abraham & his wife's handmaid, traditions identify him with Islam plus you've got a villainous boss dragon like the gods of Babylonian myth, fighting boss dragons ruling the harsh chaos of the world, if I remember what I heard, rather than as protective spirits in other traditions. Then blonde Leon (lion) - like Aslan the Lion from CS Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia, like overly popular & unlikely blonde images of Jesus or similarly typed characters to me suggests problematic damaging "last battle" & European colonial racism & the way it blends with religious & other myth in literature and religious texts (the lion is an attribute of Jesus contrasted with another, the lamb, CS Lewis, Tolkien & other texts racially type golden looking characters in contrast to darker middle eastern and African looks eg Calormen) - so to me indirectly give the lore complex racist connotations!
The problem that arises is how seriously to take it - taking these things seriously in the wrong way is part of the problem. There was a mass shooting with the words "Ismael Ax" enigmatically written on a weapon or something so these things matter to some people! The wrong way! But the historical-cultural battles and currents behind it are certainly not meaningless! Maybe all this rehashing helps distance & take the power out of it!? Maybe I'm not helping!?
