This is my top dragon sculpture.
The work is made from an old Red Perfume tree.
My sculpting and video creation took place over 2 months.
I am very careful for this dragon sculpture.

I'm not a wood carver but I don't think the see a hunk of wood and visualize. I'm pretty they just plan before hand and look for a good hunk of wood they can use.

I'm biased, due to being a Dragon, but that is one of the most remarkable handmade sculptures I've ever seen. There are many who claim to master craftsmen, but then there's a Grand Master!

I'll never understand how a sculptor can "see" a piece of art when it's just a chunk of wood - or stone. They truly have an inborn gift. Probably developed over several lifetimes.

Yeah, I don't think I could sketch a dragon that looked this good, let alone chainsaw/chisel it out of a hunk of wood. Takes incredible artistry, spatial sense, mental planning and dexterity to create something like this.

This is one of the most entertaining time-lapse videos I've seen in some time. Watching the dragon emerge from the raw trunk of wood was amazing. The final product is a beautiful piece of art.

It's unbelievable the artistic talent and the speed of this Carver in 15 minutes and 50 seconds taking a piece of wood and turning it into a beautiful dragon. That's amazing
What always amazes me, is this stuff was being done before modern power tools. Just imagine doing this with bronze tools, that had to be resharpened after only a few strokes. I can barely draw stick figures, but I had a grandfather that carved statues, busts, and other things for the Catholic Church. As a musician, who could play lead Pink Floyd I understand about taking a tool and creating something wonderous. Artists, are true thieves, we steal our Ideas from others; then try to create something of our own. Just imagine having a pair of these next to a roaring fireplace; truly a gateway to some underworld in a Sword, and Sorcery game. I can't afford one; so I want one. Bravo Dude!

My father was a woodcarver (hobby) and tried to get me into it. But anything beyond simple chains or other mathematical type constructs were utterly beyond me. I am so gifted at just about anything in the way of math and science, but I envy anyone with creativity like this. My mother was also creative (sketching, sewing, cooking).
