    Watching your videos makes me determined to go to Trinity College. As a student from America, a lot of people have told me it won't happen, but I've been working hard for the past few years, and your videos always remind me what I'm working for :)

      @@kaysquare2 Yeah, but it's a lot of work applying to colleges in other countries, and visas can be really expensive. Also, when everyone around me is going to American colleges, it's expected that I will too, so my parents aren't super supportive of me. I just need to keep working and hoping that I'll eventually be able to leave the US for college, whether it's in Ireland or not.

    • @kaysquare2
      @kaysquare2 Před 4 lety

      Gurl, I’m from India, but I’m a Canadian citizen technically and I don’t require visa to enter and study in Ireland. So obviously being an American citizen you won’t bear any Visa costs too. And the best thing about studying in EU is that it’s fees is comparatively way cheaper than your average American Uni. So you’ll save alot of money there again. You literally have to gather your gradesheets, give those easy ass SATs, get a recommendation letter or two from your teachers, write a 700-1000 words essay on why you want to come to XYZ Uni and how you’ll benefit from it,etc. and just upload all these docs on their website. It’s easier than you think it is tbh

    ok, so I am considering going to trinity college and this video was great. You are probably the most quirky and awkward youtuber I have ever watched but your awkwardness makes me laugh. I also just wanted to say being from America and watching Irish people dance and like party to American songs with your accent is so funny! I just love your trinity vlogs and you are soo sweet!

    Queen of Quirk I am sorry to bother you but I have one more question for you. Have you heard about having disadvantages due to the fact that dual ba students are under Columbia GS instead if Columbia College? For instance, having a hard time getting good internship opportunities or getting more rejections from law or business schools compared to Columbia College grads. Thank you again, and I hope you stay safe!!

    I posted this on an earlier video already but I just realized this one is more recent so I'm commenting again here:
    Thank you so much for these videos they're really helpful! I just got accepted into the Dual BA program between Trinity and Columbia as a geoscience major and I was wondering if you could answer any of my questions? I don't know anyone else who goes there and the structure at trinity seems to be very different from what I'm used to with American universities.
    What are the different terms? On the calendar I noticed Michaelmas, Hilary and Trinity terms
    What is a reading week vs. an assignment week?
    In your video you mentioned tutorials. Are those different from lectures or classes?
    As a dual BA student do you feel separated or are you generally treated like a regular Trinity student
    Are you taking any classes outside your major?
    I'd also love to hear more about your experience in general if you have anything else you want to add!

    Hello! I got an email today from Trinity Business School saying I was recommended to the Academic Registry for placement into a M.Sc. program! I have never heard of being recommended to the AR for a program, and I was wondering if you knew how excited I should be? Do they usually approve recommendations? Also - do you know what the best accommodation for Trinity is? I'm looking and I can't decide!
    Great video :) thank you!

      Hi! I don’t really know what a recommendation is? I’d imagine it might be a promotional email, to encourage you to apply (which you should ☺️). I haven’t stayed in any accommodation for trinity, so check out the video including my friends opinions on accommodations like Kavanagh Court and Binary Hub ☺️

    Hi there,
    I am a recent admit to the Columbia Trinity Dual BA program! I have a few questions about this program. Does a student have flexibility over their majors (I applied as a history major but I am also interested in economy)? Also, how was financing the tuition for you and? Since I am an American student, I have to pay full tuition to Trinity but I get paid about 40k per year from Columbia. So, I am wondering whether Trinity is generous with their scholarships.

    • @QueenofQuirk
      @QueenofQuirk  Před 4 lety +1

      Eric Kim hi Eric! Congrats! So you don’t get flexibility until Columbia. Trinity’s system is different in that you have to go straight into your major, but because you’re a Dual BA student, you’ll have the opportunity to change things around when you got to Columbia! And for finance, since I’m Irish and have the Irish student fee I haven’t looked into scholarships for trinity, but definitely get in touch with the Dual BA admin team about that!

      Queen of Quirk Thank you so much for the response! I have one more question for you. • @QueenofQuirk
      @QueenofQuirk  Před 4 lety

      Eric Kim hey! Sorry for not replying sooner I’ve been busy out! And to be completely honest I have never heard of such a thing. The only differences between GS, Columbia College and other schools like Barnard and Columbia Engineering are the types of students within each one. We are all still Columbia University students and we all receive the same degrees from Columbia. So I have not heard that. A common misconception people have is that GS and Barnard etc. are not *really* Columbia but that is so far from the truth! It’s like Oxford Uni or Cambridge, which have mini colleges within them but are all still Oxbridge colleges. But yeah, I wouldn’t worry at all about being at a disadvantage because you won’t be! ☺️ no problem and I hope you’re healthy and safe too!

    @eilisfeeney1466 Před 4 lety

    was it hard making friends?

    • @QueenofQuirk
      @QueenofQuirk  Před 4 lety +1

      eilis erin it really depends on how you are as a person! For me, I didn’t make any *solid* friends until the end of my first term. I’m now a second year so it did take effort to get to where I am with my friends! In first year, making friends can be a slow process. I made friends from my own course, English, but hanging out with them after classes, getting lunch or coffee, and just eventually and naturally things fall into place. But there are loads of ways to make friends! If you’re in student accommodation, you can make friends with roommates, and another great way is through societies! There are loads of people I wouldn’t know if I wasn’t in certain societies. So you have to remind yourself that you may not have best friends found within your first few weeks of college, and that it can take time, but that time of building friendships can be worth it in the end!
