The scene with Tigg's daughter has never stopped haunting me. The worst thing they did in this show. Absolutely brutal and horrifying and it's all because of Clay's lie.
@@anthonycampos8057 I've seen the show a few times and for me this was the worst. But I get where your coming from. We've got a couple of episodes left until "that scene" and it's gonna be hard watching Nikki's reaction.
Nero is played by Jimmy Smitts. He's been in a ton of stuff but you might have recognized him from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He was Bail Organa and adopted Leia.
This episode has had me worried about how Nikki was going to react since they started watching the show. I think the death of Tig's daughter is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen on any show.
The part that hit me hard after a rewatch years later and becoming a father of two girls was Tig’s daughters cry of “daddy help”. That I s what really affected me with that scene.
I like how Pope shows some slight remorse when killing Tigs daughter, it shows how much losing his daughter hurts and he kinda feels bad for Tig for a second.
Clay got out in front of Jax by telling the club what happened (his version) with Piney and Opie. It removed a big blackmail card hanging over his head.
The actors that play Nero & Damon Pope....LEGENDS. Harold Perrineau & Jimmy Smits as Pope & Nero make you actually believe they are those characters. Masterfully played by both. Also fun fact, the woman that plays Nero's "business partner"/half-sister is Jimmy Smits' wife
I think I’ve heard Steven say “This is insane” in just about every episode I can’t help but think of things to come because it’s only Season 5 Episode 1 😂
Dawn's death was so shocking, the first time I saw it I couldn't believe it happened. I had to rewind it to make sure. One of the best season premieres of TV. Hands down.
This is by far one of the darkest episodes of television ever. This is when you see how far and great of a character arc Tig has come. Kim Coates is one of the best
This episode very quickly established exactly how serious a player Damien Pope is. He moves in circles that even Jax would struggle to fathom, and he's a chess master.
This episode and the last with Dawn really turned me around on Tig. You can tell he has a lot of love. Especially when he gave Dawn the money knowing she was lying. Later I think he shows this better with another character(no spoilers!). I don't buy any of the gross weird shit Tig says. I think he just wants to keep others away and to be seen as edgy and scary.
indecent exposure at a livestock convention. On a episode of reaper reviews the actor who play Tig (Kim) confirmed that it was streaking@@ScarlettM Still super weird but at least not molesting animals.
Man rig really makes you hate him early but his story becomes so captivating that you end up loving him. Kim Coates is an amazing actor and I love his and theo’s podcast!
One Great Moment of Acting was Tig Trying to show Remorse for his daughter being burned but he such a hardened psychopath he struggles to show Emotion.
This season is gonna be something else !!! Dawn's death was one of the most heartwrenching thing's I have ever seen on TV !!! So sad . This is a game changer of a season !!! Hey what's Leroy's favorite country song ?? I fall to piece's by Patsy Cline .
What the hell did I just watch!? I never remembered tigs daughter scene! I watched the UK version it must of been censored... Damn that was horrific, poor girl 🥺
One of theee most brutal. Kim Coates absolutely killed that scene. Y’all did so much better than me.. I still cried watching that along with you.. and I’ve seen it a hundred times. Season 5. Phew!
You've said before how much some of the club endured for SAMCRO and stayed true and now Tig is firmly in that club as well. And the season only started! 😳
I really cant blame Pope for wanting revenge for what happened to his daughter, BUT going after Tigs daughter like that, thats where he forfeited all sympathy from me.
Yeah Pope is even more evil than Tig because at least Tig didn’t intentionally kill his daughter. He burned an innocent woman alive, which might be the most painful possible way to die
I have never seen someone see Harold Perrineau (Michael from Lost) and say Romeo and Juliet lmao I remember screaming WaaalLLlLLlllTTTTttt when I first saw him lmao miss the lost days. Also his new show "From" is really good!
Walton Goggins is one of the best actors ever period. Did you ever see him on the HBO series The Righteous Gemstones? He plays a character named Baby Billy & he's hilarious & plays it to the hilt!!😆😆
The new members aren’t new to SOA as an organization, they were all Nomads (members unaffiliated with a specific charter/location) previously and transferred to Charming.
Tig's daughter getting burned alive in Season 5 reminded me of another father's daughter being burned at the stake in Season 5 of a particular HBO show that you've watched. The difference there is that the father intentionally burned his daughter as a sacrifice and she was still a child, so I think that death was much, much worse.
This is DEFINITELY one of the best season premieres of the show. It gave us a great follow-up from last season and an EXCELLENT introduction into the power of Damon Pope. The Zobelle similarities are there but Pope has a lot power and love that Zobelle had. But...yall will see
Ah, season five. On one hand we get a truly great new character in Nero (the always excellent Jimmy Smits), and on the other we march inexorably toward heartbreak.
I just finished my 4th rewatch of this show this week, but I still look forward to seeing yalls reactions to the big moments in the show. I love this show so much I even named my 5yr old son Jax 😄 and my wife's my name is Tera and my name is Thomas lol We're just missing an Able.
Say what you want about clay. But he is smarter and has a lot more leadership experience than Jax does. The way he crushed the leverage that Jax thought he had with a couple of sentences was brilliant.
Kurt Sutter modeled this show after Hamlet. This really is a Shakespearean tragedy. It gets way wilder. I remember looking forward to September all year long to get back to Charming. Long live Redwood.
19:00 I disagree, it didn’t sound like a threat, he sounded sincere to me. I guess we need a reminder and not forget Gemma fired a gun at clay before he put the beating on her. She deserved everything she got in return. Gemma is no better than Clay.
Nikki & Steven - you'll be surprised with the final role Jimmy Smits will play in this series. (If you know, you know) I'm still extremely pleased with Kurt Sutters choices.
Nero is awesome. I remember when he was first introduced I thought he was gonna be a villain but ended up being one of the best most reliable dudes in the series
And so the reign of Jax as king has begun. It really felt like a new age with Potter and the RICO stuff finished it felt like the main focus was both on other gangs and issues within the club. I never really liked Pope he’s not intimidating and its hard to believe a ‘gangster’ rarely gets his hands dirty. His right hand however August Marks really sold the scenes he was in he made steaks out of Laroy and says it was cuz he ‘lost his sh*t’ makes you wonder what he planned to do initially. The fact he says it so causally with a smile on his face made him a stand out character. Tig losing his daughter was devastating but it was a price for his recklessness. All in all a episode to establish this new phase of the show
I said the same thing about clay is the new piney when I say this episode and clays apologies are just more lies he doesn't care all he wants is the power back

@@John_Locke_108believe me, it was NOT the worst thing they did on this show.
@@anthonycampos8057 I've seen the show a few times and for me this was the worst. But I get where your coming from. We've got a couple of episodes left until "that scene" and it's gonna be hard watching Nikki's reaction.
@jxchamb it's not just "that" scene. There are alot more.
One of the most wild seasons of TV ever in my option.
You ain’t lying
FACTS!
Nero is played by Jimmy Smitts. He's been in a ton of stuff but you might have recognized him from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He was Bail Organa and adopted Leia.
I think most people know him from NYPD Blues
They probably recognized him from Dexter.
The West Wing
Yes he has been in many things, and truly and underrated actor!
And his “business partner” on here is his real life “wife” Wanda De Jesus since the 80’s!!
I love that Clay walks around with his oxygen tank as a constant reminder to Piney.
This episode has had me worried about how Nikki was going to react since they started watching the show. I think the death of Tig's daughter is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen on any show.
There are quite a few scenes in these last few seasons that I would consider deeply disturbing
I know! That scene has stuck with me since it’s first airing. I can’t even look at the actors who play Tig and Pope without a flashback to that scene.
it's definitely up there along with Gemma's rape in season 2.
Wait until THAT episode next season, we’re gunna have one of those breaks in the action where they gotta get their shit together lol
The part that hit me hard after a rewatch years later and becoming a father of two girls was Tig’s daughters cry of “daddy help”. That I s what really affected me with that scene.
Harold Perrineau is most known for his roles in 'Oz' and 'Lost'. Right actor for the Pope character.
Harold perrineau and Kim Coates are actually good friends in real life.
Hes from Lost too and From
I love him as an actor but he never felt threatening to me in this role. Loved him in Oz
Y’all emotions will be tested. Oh boy. And I’m here for it. Clay literally became Piney.
They are almost at the end of seaaon 6 😂
@@Jimmie_Rudolfsson I stand corrected
I LOVED when Chibs said that Jax was writing a children book...he didn't know how right he was
I always felt like chibs knew he was writing for Able and Thomas
That scene where Tigs daughter was set on fire almost broke me from seeing this show again. The story kept me going, and it was well worth it.
I couldn't. This is where I stopped.
I cant wait for to see your reaction to Walton Goggins when he makes his apperance.
Me either. OMG 🤣
Lol
My favorite ❤️
Idk why i was thinking david goggins
Romeo + Juliet ‘97 is a glorious trainwreck that MUST be experienced, especially for Harold Perrineau’s performance!
I like how Pope shows some slight remorse when killing Tigs daughter, it shows how much losing his daughter hurts and he kinda feels bad for Tig for a second.
I saw that too good eye ✌️
Clay got out in front of Jax by telling the club what happened (his version) with Piney and Opie. It removed a big blackmail card hanging over his head.
Yep taking the power away from jax with that play
Kim Coates is such an underrated actor! If Im being real most of this cast is highly underrated. I love this season as brutal as it is
Nikki: "oh he was in romeo and juliet, i love him!"
Me: "well, you won't for long"
Long enough to be remembered though
@@icred4467 I meant that Nikki's not gonna love him for long. I should have made it more clear
Changed it now
Oooohhh I see. You are not wrong!
Seeing Pope with the kids and ice cream at the end reminded me of Gustavo Fring, nice normal guy to most people but actually a crazy killer boss
Yep!!
Waiting for these reactions is delicious torture. Y'all are great.
😂
Pope's intro 😂😢 had me stunned. This season onward is a roller coaster.
Dawn's death was so shocking, the first time I saw it I couldn't believe it happened. I had to rewind it to make sure.
One of the best season premieres of TV. Hands down.
This first episode of the season is where everything takes a darker turn.
I always get so sad on Tig's scene in this episode
I feel the need to apologize for the emotional trauma the last few seasons will provide.
Oh god...THIS! I agree 110%!
This is by far one of the darkest episodes of television ever. This is when you see how far and great of a character arc Tig has come. Kim Coates is one of the best
Harold Perrinau is mostly known for his role in LOST and he’s also in the first Matrix! And Jimmy Smits! Bail Organa and also is in Dexter!
He was in latter matrix movies, not the first.
He was Link and first appeared in the second Matrix movie.
Harold Perrineau is scary AF as Damon Pope.
Love him in "Lost", "Oz", and "From".
Bringing Jimmy Smits into the series in season 5 was genius. His character was so amazing for the rest of the series.
Harold Perrineau who plays Pope is best known for his roles in the HBO series Oz and the ABC series Lost.
Tigs animalistic yells are haunting. 😬
This episode very quickly established exactly how serious a player Damien Pope is. He moves in circles that even Jax would struggle to fathom, and he's a chess master.
This is definitely my favorite season of the show. The character arcs are crazy in this season. Especially Jax
These last few seasons are so crazy. Peak television.
2 to 5 are crazy good

35:17 that was for Dona tig 💯💯
Does that help donna? Would donna want an innocent girl to burn? That mentality is the problem
Such a good season.. poor Tig one of the most brutal TV deaths I've ever seen.. Pope and his right hand men were ruthless
24:57 sounds like Nikki's next Movie night choice has been picked. Lol 🤣
