“300 hungry crocodiles live in the river”
What a wonderful place to swim.
Yes. Truly wonderful. Everyone stays alive.
5 Star Quality👍🏽😎
The scary thing is that they don't have to eat to live for a long amount of time
They can just not eat for a year and still be in the same tough condition
Probably Florida Man said that.

@@huskiehuskerson5300 yeah, probably
It amazes me that they can get a camera angle on a croc chasing a wildebeest under water.
They probably filmed the scenes in a safe environment and then put it into the documentary as a lot of close up scenes are done on a set, they wouldn't risk a diver in those rapids getting trampled or taken by a croc
Submarine drones
They film the underwater scenes in a separate safe environment, and add the that footage to the documentary later. They have a crocodile actor that they work with. He's a trained professional.
Director: ok Jeremy, I'm gonna need you to just sink to the bottom of the pool with your head tilted up. Gary's gonna film your feet.
Crocodile: yeah, I don't like how deep this water is, and tilting my head like that gets water up my nostrils...
Director: I don't pay you to think. Get in the f***ing pool and act like a crocodile. That's not asking for much.
Crocodile: you still haven't even paid me for the last shoot we did..

I swear National Geographic has the best cameras out there. There could be a footage from like 2000 and it still probably look like it was taken around the late 2010’s.
this is BBC EARTh
@@screamingwind3559 Who said otherwise?
@@nothingisreal6816 National Geographic is not BBC Earth. Both excellent though.
Well regardless who owns the footage, very rarely does a production send filmmakers out there. They usually contract a videographer in the area and they shoot the footage
dude are you blind?
13:01 “we have no choice but to risk a dash to the surface”
Doesn’t seem like a risk when your other option is to stay underwater with a 4 meter croc
Crocs are ambush hunters that prefer to attack from below. When swimming with crocs, the surface is the worst place you could possibly be.

@@bradd2k2 Steve backshall is literally the human version of crack he’s done some mad shit
@@erminedereims400 Trust me😂I remember watching his shows on CBBC as a kid and thinking how insane he actually was
“They are intelligent hunters, plotting their attack with precision.”
He’s absolutely right, the intelligence of crocodilians is not talked about enough. Something interesting about Nile crocodiles, as shown in the video, is the fact that they are social, and they will indeed work together (which is rare as most crocodilians are solitary); Nile crocodiles are among the most social of all reptiles.
they also montior their prey patterns. they do this with humans too
@@shamelessval8897 crocodilians are incredible, and they look so prehistoric. I always love to look at the alligators in my backyard and in other lakes (I live in Florida, suburban Florida, so the alligators aren’t usually too big, but they’re still so cool) :D
It's because of their only walnut sized brains, that they're often underestimated. In fact, they're not dumb at all, their sophisticated hunting tactics prove it.
What’s more facinating is, crocodiles study their prey for days before going in for a kill.
I find it hilarious that every year we find out how much we've underestimated almost every animal on the planet. It's a dose of humility that's probably good for us as a species.
This dude just stood face to face with a croc in the crocs house! Mad respect!!!
It's really wild, even for a wildlife expert. Even a fucking adult lion would avoid such an encounter in the water.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it's big. I shall stay here.
That’s because it was winter and the crocs don’t hunt in the winter.
@@CmKsFoRLiFe Yes they can and they do. They are just less active and move slower.
That diver that saw the croc and jumped in anyway is the epitome of "cameraman never dies"
That guys name is Steve Backshall, he's absolutely insane - he freedived with a great white shark and let a black widow crawl across his bare hand. 0 fear, despite having been bitten by crocodiles on a number of occasions.
Hippos can bite a croc in half
“The crocs obviously not intimidated by that at all”
-weeellll a big one not really but a good number of those for sure, but in that number im sure they didnt care
@@theofficialassmob Lol right.. always found it fascinating how crocs and hippos coexist with each other.
Hippos don't attack until anyone keeps their dirty claws on their territory. Crocs normally have patience and never attack until they are hungry

I was shooketh with them divers. Like he was literally so close he could touch the croc, people are cray cray and I love it
Diver, "I really don't feel comfortable being this close to him". Then why the f@@k did you get to close?
And your being there serves no useful purpose. Steve Irwin is to blame for popularising all these pointless look-how-brave-I-am wildlife films where the presenter is the main centre of attention.
Lol
@@exessex3522 I used to watch this dude with my young daughter. Seems he was showing 🤔 off for the camera. A lot of unnecessary interactions with diff animals. Well I may be wrong but I think he was down there messing with that thingy and got speared when that barb struck vital organ. When that barb go in you it dosent cone out without tearing something up. His luck ran out and his number was up.
Because he's Steve backshall lol go and read his career resume on Google what a career.

What do you mean by that?
“Last thing I want it for it to sense fear”…. Proceeds to emit an aura of extreme fear lol
Crocodile grabs a prey
Wilderbeast: "Where did Billy go?"
What I find more interesting is how a hippo can be in the middle of a feeding frenzy of crocs and yet the crocs won't attack it. Instead they eat the dead hippo..
That interaction is fascinating.
Crocs and hippos are like rivals who have mutual respect you stay on you turf we stay on ours type of thing between the two
TBH, it makes a lot of sense. Hippos are absolutely terrifying forces of nature. It's more like how a pack of coyotes will eat your lunch but wouldn't fight you to the death.
Why attack a live animal that can hurt you when you have free food lying around? I think it's pretty logic.
if its bigger than you and can hurt you.why do it?sharks do the same thing.they dont hunt massive whales
I am most impressed with that bird pretty much standing on top of one of the crocs at 15:03 -- just chilling, that bird got a set of balls....
It might be one of the birds that watches the crocs eggs.
Hippos and crocs are like two neighbours that dont like each other but must live near each other
Good idea: watching crocodiles on YT
Bad idea: diving down, claiming their territory

1:15 bats can even catch fish like that at night, in complete darkness. They see what is in the water by ultrasonic sound. They even can calculate whether this fish is too heavy to take it out of the water. Everything measured with ultrasonic sound.
