    The Quadratus Lumborum Or QL muscle is a low back muscle that runs from iliac crest (Top side of Pelvis) to the 12th rib or last rib.
    the QL acts to move the spinal column through extension and ipsilateral sideband and is considered a major postural muscle as it also acts to stabilise the low back and pelvis.
    Quadratus Lumborum Muscle contracts during walking , standing and sitting
    and when we stand for long time, the weight of body usually come on one leg may be it's right or left, so this muscle is more prone to be overused and get tired soon . Due to overuses of QL muscle ,the muscle become weak, gets spasm or tight and further it causes Quadratus Lumborum pain/ Syndrome.
    If you have pain in this region, a combination if stretching and strengthening of this muscle is helpful to relieve the pain. Give the following exercises a try and let me know if you have any questions.
    1.Spinal rotation Stretch
    2.Prayers stretch with side bend
    3. QL stretch with side bend
    4. Side Plank
    5. Dynamic Side Plank
    6. Hip Hiker Exercise.
