- This session by Steve Little provides information on some of the use cases for artificial intelligence in the genealogy and family history community.
Recorded as a MemberConnects! event for the National Genealogical Society on 6 September 2023.
How fun is this? I did my "homework" in ChatGPT, but it didn't like the length of the transcript. So, I deleted the introduction and conclusion. Then I broke it into four parts and submitted them individually. It worked like a charm and I was able to get notes for the entire presentation, neatly summarized. Now I can see why you are having so much fun with this, Steve! Thank you for sharing your expertise - can't wait for the course!
I created the handout from the transcript as Steve suggested in the session. Claude2 is good at that task. I added an additional prompt to add step by step directions for the OCR and network diagram use cases. I am looking forward to taking the course later this fall.
This is wonderful! I am so excited for the possibilities of creating a.i. powered webtools, not only for genealogical purposes, but for handling the rest of our data out there. Thank you for sharing.
I used Claude for my homework and it did a pretty good job!
