UX Design Method - Task Flow Tutorial

As a UX designer, choosing the correct UX design method will set the tone of your entire design process. I map out a task flow or user flow before doing any actual UX design work. This helps me understand the user journey better. In this video, we'll start off by creating a task flow. I use task flows in order to define the linear sequence of a user journey or user experience for a defined task.

This is a user task flow. Task flows are more for information architecture which is the structure of a site or a map.

The structure of a site or a map is usually referred to as a “site map”. It helps show the connection between pages (which is both helpful for designers, developers, and for understanding how things are related for SEO for instance). Whereas a task flow is the sequence of steps (= flow) for performing a specific task, hence the name 😊.
