Marcus was kinda right on this one, maybe exaggerated a little at the end but he didn’t lie when he said that Max doesn’t realize or care when her friends are struggling. In general all the MANG aren’t so much supporting to each other
Abby’s parents were divorcing and she had body problems. Max just called her a Scrooge since she didn’t scream happy birthday loud enough or crowd around Ginny. Max got dumped and they were all their for her. Not to mention on one person was concerned when Norah didn’t show up to school for 2 days. Ginny’s dad ditched and the only person outside of the family that knew was Marcus cause she actually trusted him. But hey just a random stranger on CZcams with an opinion.

Despite the beginning I also think that Abby was the one that cared the most about the other girls. But in some way all of them treated the others poorly. Max was greatly exaggerated with Ginny and Abby and Marcus was right on calling her out.

yess omg I thought I was the only one thinking that. there’s obviously nothing wrong with Hunter but she pushed it onto Ginny way too much and she felt like she had to when she didn’t like him that much. she should’ve let them figure it out for themselves instead of being forceful about it and making them get together because of her idea of romanticism. end of the day Ginny never said much because she didn’t wanna hurt her feelings and she’s talking about getting hurt herself. she’s very self centered but doesn’t realise it and needs to work on her issues instead of throwing them onto someone else.

@@AnotherOpinion695 did u watch the show at all? she is. marcus slept with ginny and she made the whole situation about herself, abby was struggling with parent issues and body insecurities and when she confronted her friends about it, max sat there and all she could say is ‘i had sex..’ which was really inappropriate at the time. she might be a funny character and i do kind of like her to but yes, she is definitely self centred.

@@moobu457 I felt bad for hunter because I know how being cheated on can affect a person . Cheating is wrong there’s no way around that and it hurts . I honestly think Ginny shouldn’t have sent Marcus that picture while she was with hunter but it happened and she has to own up to what she did and as much as I want to see her and Marcus be together at some point they both have work to do on themselves before they can be with anyone . after they get there stuff together they could be together .

I swear that whole MANG group was so toxic and superficial. And yeah what Marcus was saying is true. When max was going through her breakup everyone rallied with her to help her. It's kind of a one sided relationship when it comes to all of them. Max goes on and on about her problems and what she goes through but never really asks about ginny or Abby's problems. In fact she was clueless to everything. Max was definitely self absorbed.
The most annoying thing about Max being so self centered is that there is literally nothing that can explain why she is like that?? She comes from a wealthy family, she is spoiled by parents who care about her , she has tons of friends, is self confident most of the time, has literally nothing to complain about. Yet she always manages to make her « problems » the most important thing when her biggest issue was having a crush on a girl who didn’t like her back. And she makes the Ginny&Marcus thing ALL about her when it is none of her business.
I think you just answered your own question. Max is used to being the center of attention in everything in her life it seems. As you said she’s spoiled. Even when it has nothing to do with her, she always puts herself and her problems above everyone else’s, even her friends due to being spoiled and always getting what she wants it seems.

Everyone has problems, no matter how small they may be. Max is privileged, but that doesn't invalidate her issues. Nobody has a perfect life. I do agree with you though on her being self centered and indulging herself in Ginny & Marcus's relationship was wrong; the only one who had a right to be mad about them was Hunter.

In my opinion Ginny isn’t that bad . The whole cheating stuff was very much in the grey area , also is she really a best friend to max cause they don’t even know each other like that. She can be selfish at times but she acts that way because of how bad of a parent Georgia is and the fact that her dad never stays. So at the end of the day I still like Ginny cause she a interesting character

Ginny definitely had baggage from Georgia's parenting and the lack of a stable father figure. She was a typical troubled teenager and a lot of people forget to take that into account. However, not everything was Georgia's fault. Ginny blamed everything on Georgia when it was convenient for her, but there are a handful of things she did not have to do. She knew a lot of what she was doing, outside of Georgia's influence, and did not catch herself. She lacked any kind of introspection and refused to realize she was her own person whenever shit hit the fan. She wanted to be edgy and judgmental, despite her own shortcomings. Even though trauma gets you to certain places, your actions are your own at some point.

Max was the one who basically forced the idea on Ginny to go out with Hunter, When Abby was having a hard time and she texted in the group asking if anyone wanted to hang out max said that she something along the lines of ''I can't deal with this right now' her whole thought was basically on her feelings, she never noticed the pain that Abby, Norah or Ginny was experiencing HECK even her own brother!! when there are times Ginny tells her about something rough she's going through she would make some joke out of it I mean like...come on!!! She was never there to help them out and had no Friggin idea what was happening in Her FRIENDS life. but when she was experiencing some drama, where were her friends? they were there with her as she sobbed onto their shoulders!! they pushed their problems away and basically held her as she cried but during their painful times they were by themselves sobbing by themselves..no consolation what so ever!

I understand why Max would be so wrapped up in herself. She's a teenage girl with anxiety still learning to navigate her world. However, she peer-pressured Ginny to date Hunter, she changed every conversation to something about herself, and she violated serious boundaries. She technically didn't cheat on Hunter because he proposed breaking up or "going on a break" after having a battle of racism with Ginny, then coming back to say he loves her AFTER the fact. Ginny needs to learn how to speak up for herself and people need to back off and stop holding Ginny to expectations they wouldn't set for themselves. It's ridiculous 😒
