Hi, bro. I'm here to explain why the taxi driver said that Canadians are always welcomed to China. There was an "old friend of China" called Henry Norman Bethune. He was a Canadian doctor. He came to China during the war against Japan and saved lots of Chinese people and finally dead in China. I hope you can understand how important a foreigner was so that he/she was called "an old friend of China". However, maybe Bethune is more important than an old friend of China. There was a German called John H. D. Rabe protected many Chinese people in Nanjing during the Nanjing Massacre. When COVID-19 outbroke, Germany government asked China for epidemic prevention materials, but it didn't work. The epidemic was serious In Rabe's hometown and Rabe's grandson asked China for help. Chinese government offered some epidemic prevention materials to Rabe's hometown as soon as we received the request. Bethune is as important as Rabe in our Chinese people's mind.

The really crazy part is when the Japanese left, they left many of their own children behind who were raised by Chinese people as their own kids. These abandoned children were offered visas back to Japan a few decades ago when they were middle aged. That was the moving part raising your own murderers children as your own because you knew they were children and not responsible.

    • @etlay5684

When the children abandoned by the Japanese returned to Japan,
the Japanese did not regard them as compatriots,
but treated them as second-class citizens.
Therefore, many of them later chose to return to China because the Chinese did not discriminate against them.

Thank you, brother. Today is the 79th anniversary of China's victory against Japanese aggression. 79 years ago, on 1945.8.15, we managed to defeat the invaders and won the victory, so thank you for posting a video to introduce this history to people around the world on such a meaningful day.
I would like to add a little bit of relevant knowledge, Chongqing was under KMT control for most of the time before 1949, at one point it was the capital of the Republic of China (ROC), so when Japan bombed Chongqing it was still under KMT control.
The part of the KMT led by Chiang Kai-shek fled mainland China after being defeated by the Communists in 1949 and continued to maintain rule on the island of Taiwan, but in the KMT's constitution, both the mainland and Taiwan are part of the ROC.
You can understand it as Republican vs. Democrat in the U.S. It's not a very rigorous way of comparing, but it makes it easier to understand.
So there has always been only one China, and the mainland region has made concessions that would allow the KMT or DPP on Taiwan to continue to run the region without war, as long as they recognize that they are still part of China, but the current form of the Taiwan region is worrying, and a war may be inevitable.
The present situation can be simply interpreted as the Civil War in the United States. The mainland region and Taiwan, the Kuomintang and the Communist Party are still in a state of civil war, and if the weaker party is not willing to make concessions or engage in peaceful negotiations, the civil war will continue, and this is an inescapable fact.
Why did I say earlier that the KMT under Chiang Kai-shek was only a part of it, because there was another part that remained in mainland China.
Yes, there is still the KMT in mainland China, only that it came from Soong Ching Ling, the wife of Sun Yat-sen, the founder of the Republic of China, the KMT under the leadership of Ms. Soong Ching Ling chose to stay in mainland China, and now it is one of the eight major democratic parties, and I don't know if you have seen any information about it on the Internet or in museums, but there are also eight other major democratic parties apart from the Communist Party, and they are also playing a significant role in the governance of the country, and this includes the other Kuomintang led by Ms. Soong Ching Ling.
The KMT that exists in Taiwan now is what we call a “rebel regime” because when Japan surrendered after winning the Second World War in 1945, the KMT under the leadership of CHIANG Kai-shek was unwilling to run the whole country together with the Communist Party, and CHIANG Kai-shek tore up the agreement and started the civil war without authorization. is also the reason why Ms. Soong Ching Ling led part of the KMT to leave, because the invaders had already been defeated, while Chiang Kai Shek tore up the agreement and started the civil war, plunging mainland China into the misery of war once again, and his act was undoubtedly a betrayal, a betrayal of all Chinese people.

Bro that's the flag of the Republic of China (ROC) now the flag of Taiwan (aka ROC) which China flew prior to the formation of the Peoples' Republic of China in 1949 by the CPC after they defeated the KMT in a civil war. The defeated KMT fled to Taiwan and continued to fly this flag claiming it governed all of China as the ROC from Taiwan. That's why there has always ever only been one China and it includes Taiwan.

Today you can hardly find a narcissist people in Germany, but you can easily find many right-wing people, organizations, and politicians in Japan. They have not given a single apology of harm the Japanese have done to Chinese, Korean, southeast Asians, and Americans. They captured little girls and women from Korea and China to be s*x slaves of the Japanese army. They committed the Nanjing massacre in which 3 million Nanjing people (mostly civilians) were brutally murdered. Husband saw his pregnant wife’s belly being cut open and his baby being stabbed tossed away. The Unit 731 commenced cruel live human experiments in Harbin. Human was cut open alive and all his organs were being taken out. A mother and her child were heated up to death just to see how this mother will protect her child. Human was left out in freezing winter and his fingers and arms were hit off after completely frozen when he is still alive. Those are a little little part of what the Japanese militaries have done to Chinese people (and other people in Asia). There has been NO apologies from the government! We in China are educated to never forget that, because that are humiliations to our nation. In the west, people are more familiar to the resistance against German narcissism, but things happened in Asia are much less mentioned. Just to let you know.

The Chinese characters is one of the reasons that Chinese civilization could be passed along for thousands of years. Chinese language and charters definitely have changed, but not as much as languages such as English. In 21 century, Chinese people could read and understand the articles, novels and poems written 3000 years ago. In fact, many of those works are in the text book of middle schools in china nowadays. Chinese characters are invented roughly 1300 BC. They have involved. And they are unified in 221 BC in Qin dynasty by Qin Shi Huang (the guy that owns the terracotta warriors). The Chinese character in Qin dynasty are still being written as a form of calligraphy. That’s probably why Chinese civilization is the only ancient civilization that is still here today.

After reading many comments under the video, I suddenly thought that if you are interested in learning about China's national anthem, a song written in 1935, you will find that the impact of that period of history on China has continued to this day, as the third sentence of the song says: "The Chinese nation has reached the most dangerous moment." This song is still the national anthem of the People's Republic of China today. In fact, to this day, facing the siege of Western countries, Chinese private capital is still in the most dangerous moment. This is also the source of power and spiritual core that China has insisted on developing for a century. In addition, it is ridiculous that when the Chinese national anthem was played at the Paris Olympics, many Westerners were unwilling to stand up to express their contempt for China. But the first sentence of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China is: "Stand up! Those who don't want to be slaves." Obviously, they have become slaves who are ideologically controlled by the governments of Western capitalist countries.

I came from the Internet in China to support you, and thank you for your efforts to break the political rumors in China. Maybe for this reason, you will be restricted by the algorithm, but the person who spreads the truth needs every China person and a world citizen with a sense of justice to support. Deng Xiaoping you saw is the founder of China's reform and opening-up policy. And the flag you saw in the video is used in Taiwan Province now. Because after World War II, there was another civil war between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Kuomintang, also known as the War of Liberation. A large number of workers and peasants were disappointed with the corruption of the Kuomintang, and chose communist party, which carried out land reform. Finally, in 1949, the Kuomintang was defeated and left for Taiwan Province. This is why Taiwan Province is now autonomous, and since then it has been separated from the mainland and adopted two sets of political systems. The Kuomintang was once a political force supported by the United States, until Nixon accepted the one-China principle during his visit to Chinese mainland, established diplomatic relations with Chinese mainland and abandoned Taiwan Province. Now, due to anti-China political demands, Taiwan independence forces have been manipulated. To add some knowledge, Ryukyu Islands should also be returned to China from Japan according to the palaces and parks of potsdam and berlin Proclamation, but it is still under the jurisdiction of Japan. Today, China is still not reunified, and the islands and reefs in the South China Sea have also fallen into the hands of Vietnam, the Philippines and other countries because of the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. In history, due to the prosperity of China, China has given priority to discovering and declaring sovereignty. This is the origin of the dispute in the South China Sea, because the PLA did not have a navy that could not control the historical territory, so it was occupied by neighboring countries close to the island. Today, China hopes to negotiate a peace agreement with them for joint development, but the United States is manipulating its forces. That is to say, today's China will experience the threat of Taiwan independence, the dispute in the South China Sea and the economic, technological and military containment of the United States. At one time, the relationship between China and the United States was good. Finally, China was a long-term and powerful country and civilization, but it experienced a series of wars at the end of the Qing Dynasty, such as the Opium War, in which China people were called the sick man of East Asia by the colonists and fought for a hundred years. Since 1840, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province were occupied by the invaders because they were swept away behind the industrial revolution. China people experienced anti-royal feudalism, anti-imperialism, civil war, Korean War and self-defense counterattack against India, and the Vietnam War reached today's peace.

In that dark period of history, we Chinese people endured too much suffering. 35 million of our military and civilian compatriots died because of Japan's invasion. Every Chinese person is told from a young age not to forget that history. This is not "extreme nationalism"; it is the force that drives China forward. The country that committed such cruel acts against us has not yet apologized for or acknowledged its crimes. As a victorious nation of World War II, China has been unable to receive an apology from its aggressors. Can you imagine European countries still unable to receive an apology from Germany? All of this is because China was too weak after the war, lacking the status and power to seek justice for itself on the international stage.
Remembering this history gives us endless strength to keep moving forward, because there are still demons that have not been punished. We must become strong. The spirits of 35 million compatriots are watching us; we have no right to relax, and we must press forward with the burden we carry. We must continue to grow stronger until we can force the other side to acknowledge its crimes and deeply repent.
And now, almost the same thing is happening in Gaza. The news from Gaza make every Chinese person with a conscience feels anger and empathy. We suffered all of that, so we hope the people of Gaza can also be liberated. I am glad that my government is doing the right thing. Its position has been consistent. I am glad to see that, 75 years after the founding of the country, my government and the party have not forgotten their original mission and still stand at the forefront of the world's anti-imperialist and anti-hegemonic struggles. China has not pro-Gaza protests or activities because the Chinese government and the Chinese people's position are aligned. They represent us, we don't need to do that.

20:30 Behind Chairman Mao was Zhou Enlai周恩来, the first prime minister of the People's Republic of China. He was almost always on the same front as Mao Zedong since the early days of the founding of the Communist Party of China, achieved victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, won the Civil War between the KMT and the Communist Party, and was responsible for the economy and diplomacy in the early days of the founding of the country. To be honest, there are a few controversial points in Chairman Mao's life, but Zhou had almost no negative comments throughout his life, which is very rare. In museums related to Chinese history, you should often see these two great men appear in the picture at the same time.

As to the statues whose names you don’t know:
the first duo seems like some honorable soldier or leaders died in the war(I saw some writings from the wall behind, I can be wrong on this).
The second duo is simple: one is Mao of course and the other is Zhou Enlai who’s the first Prime Minister of PRC.
The third trio is Deng Xiaoping, He Long, and Liu Bocheng. Deng is the one who started the economic reform of China in 1978, famous for opening up China to the world. He Long is a famous general and Liu is also a reputable leader within cocoa during the wartime. So basically those statues are all “founding fathers” of the PRC. Of course there’s more important figures during that period and I’m sure those people’s stories are also recorded somewhere in that museum too.
    Now just a quick summary:
In 1911 the monarchy is ended in China.
From 1911-1945 China is officially run by the KMT party led initially by Sun Yat-sen(often referred as the founding father of modern China recognized by both the nationalist and the communist parties) and later led by the infamous Chiang Kai-shek.
After the Japanese surrender in 1945, till 1949, KMT and CPC had a four-year civil war and CPC ended up defeating the KMT. KMT then fled to Taiwan. Since then the mainland and Taiwan were controlled by the two parties separately and the sovereignty issue never got settled. That’s why PRC always insists that the civil war of China was never ended and therefore Taiwan issue has never been fully resolved. After Chiang Kai-shek’s son took over the KMT party leader position, he later decided to make Taiwan a democratic system but never declared independence of Taiwan as a different state but rather insisted his father’s goal of taking back the mainland and thus the One China policy. The idea of each of the two parties that they are the sole legitimate government of the entirety of China has been the ultimate goal. But as the issue remained unresolved and that PRC( mainland China) has become so powerful economically, Taiwan in the past several decades have essentially forgone this goal and turned to seeking independence. From the perspective of CPC, they see Taiwan as the last crucial piece of the civil war puzzle that they have to resolve.
Too much info I know. Anyways hope someone would find this helpful.😂😂😂

The following article is written by Ismail Bashmori, he is an Egyptian China watcher.
The truth is that China is the greatest country on the face of the earth. It makes all other countries look insignificant and contemptible. It is the most brilliant, most industrious, most ambitious, most educated, meritocratic and technocratic, most modern, sophisticated, and civilised, and best-governed by far.
It is the first non-white, non-Western country to reach this status since the 1600s. The determination of this country is indescribable. Supernatural. There is no force that can stop it from accomplishing anything it wants to do. 。
It doesn’t matter who we are. Egyptians, Syrians, Pakistanis, Indians, Africans, even Americans. Next to the Chinese, we are pathetic. We can’t do what they do. We would have a mountain, an Everest of changes to make, and we would whine and bicker and fail at every one of them. China’s story since the 1980s has been one of an almost divine metamorphosis. 。
Next to China the entire Western world from Alaska to New Zealand has stagnated. Next to China the entire developing world from Brazil to Madagascar has progressed only at a crawl.
China is the mother of all gargantuan bullet trains. Every day it manages to create something new and astonishing. And unlike the United States, unlike the British Empire, unlike the French, Dutch, Germans, Spanish, Portuguese or any other Western nation that had its turn at being a superpower in the past four centuries, China doesn’t need to run anybody over or take something from somebody else, to rise majestically.
China is also standing up to the West all by herself. The West can’t believe their four-hundred-year-old global supremacy is being challenged. They hoped that the more China developed, the more it would submit to their influence, interests, and leadership. That didn’t happen. So now they will do anything possible, short of a nuclear war, to make China end.
Their goal is to destroy this country. That’s why, although the United States has killed several million people and turned several regions of the earth into hellscapes.
China is the worst fear of our planet’s Western masters. They want you to despise and dread a country that’s done nothing to you, that hasn’t invaded anyone, bombed or sanctioned anyone, that hasn’t overthrown any foreign government, or used its military on anything since 1979.
China is the only major country in the nonwhite developing world, to stand up to the West. To look it in the eye when challenged or threatened.
The Global South are simply Western puppets who submitted long ago. Even the most powerful ones. Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India.

I'm glad to see your video on museum exploration. Museum exploration is often overlooked, but in Chinese cultural tradition, history-especially the ancestor worship and lessons from the past-takes precedence over religious beliefs and provides stronger behavioral guidance. As a result, museums, which play a key role in shaping regional cultural traditions, have become increasingly important in China’s urban development, and they offer a unique perspective on how people and governments in different regions view their own regional culture, which is the purpose of city exploration in my opinion. In fact, museums often play a role in Chinese urban planning similar to that of temples and churches, connecting the ancient history that Chinese people take pride in with modern urban development.Just like the diversity of Shanghai and the relaxation of Guangzhou, Chongqing, as the wartime capital, has left a symbol of resistance in China's modern history, and it is also the common historical memory of this city. From my experience, museums are a great starting point for exploring how a Chinese city can build a positive self-image and a coherent narrative while fostering regional identity and pride among its people.

Except China and some eastern Asian countries, there's no any other countries have full coverage history of WWII in the textbook, especially Japan, they earased all history about recent history of they bringing the great tragety to the Asia during WWII. We were educated not to forget the history from elementary school.

This is why the PLA under the CPC is great ! First they fought against the KMT starting in 1927 and then when the Japanese invaded in 1937 they put aside their political stripe and fought along the KMT to rid the Japanese invaders from China. After the Japanese surrendered in 1945, the fought the civil war to get rid of the KMT whose army was four times larger and equipped with American weapons and planes and the PLA still prevailed because the vast majority of the people were on their side ...they are truly the "People's Liberation Army !

As Chinese, the emotions from the war gallery was especially strong for me. I cried looking at them. I was so embarrassed for crying in public. Especially looking at all the young people that died looking at their photo and reading their names

The misery suffered by the Chinese and Korean people under the Japanese invasion were no less than those suffered by the Palestinian people today. Under the control of Western media, people have almost forgotten what happened during the WWII on the European battlefield, not to mention the Asian past that they have never heard of.

Thank you for learning about that difficult period of Chinese history and spreadding it to the world. Your videoes are popular on Chinese Tiktok and Bilibili. If you have chance, you can visit the Holocaust Memorial Hall in Nanjing, the site of Japanese Army Unit 731 in Harbin, and the Memorial Hall of people buried alive in Datong. Japanese troops massacred 300,000 Chinese civilians in Nanjing. Unit 731 of Japanese troops do the human experiments on live people in Harbin, the conclusion that 78% of the human body is made of water according to the Japanese who dried living Chinese civilians. Japan buried over 60,000 Chinese alive in Datong. When you visit these places, you will understand why Japan is so negative in China.

15:39 Lots of people crowded in the air-raid shelter that made the oxygen level very low ( the ventilation system was destroyed by booming ). Then, lots of people die because of smother. Everybody wanted to breath the fresh air so they gathered to the gate of the shelter, and this behavior cause death because of mutual trampling.

Thank you, I have followed you. You are truly a person with a sense of justice. Many times, the West deliberately ignores the role and harm China played in World War II. However, some superpowers sheltered Japan after the war and provided it with funds for rapid recovery. Japan itself does not reflect on its own behavior, nor has it ever apologized to the Chinese people. The most ridiculous thing is that they have always held the anniversary of the atomic bomb, as if they were victims of World War II, and they do not reflect on why the United States dropped the atomic bomb on them. In the face of the anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people, they always accuse the Chinese people of nationalism, which is a double standard and shameless face

14:21 This is the flag of the Republic of China🇹🇼.The picture frame next to the flag is Sun Yat-Sen, the founding father of the Republic of China🇹🇼.The Republic of China was eventually replaced by the CPC because of people's opposition to KMT's corruption and totalitarian government. Chiang Kai-Shek, the last president of the Republic of China, fled to Taiwan after Nanjing was liberated by PLA(the army of CPC). If you go to Taiwan, you will see such flags, because Taiwan is a province of ROC( it might be confused why there are two China but the the United Nations recognizes the People's Republic of China🇨🇳 as the sole legitimate government representing China).btw, if you want to know more about the war crimes committed by the Japanese invasion of China, you can read 'The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II',written by Iris Chang.
