    It's a tragedy to see people considering themselves sophisticated because of possession of a degree, an iPhone, a soft cover novel book and a skinny jeans.
    We forget that true human values remain in possession of faith in God and good manners. Remember, culture is liquid and faith is solid. Once can be changed to meet the demands of status quo and the other remains solid and unchanged.

In that process learn the Tafsir. And pls don't get extra weightage to study Hadith now, later you'll have time In Sha Allah. Last but not least workhard alot; save money to travel. I feel one of the biggest mistakes the Muslim community has made, is that we have not readily embraced the challenges of the world. Yes, modern entertainment and media is corrupt and shows a lot of unethical ideals and behavior. However, why have we not created viable alternatives which are intriguing but have some moral fiber? The educational system has devolved into a system which inhibits creativity and stunts human intellect, yet why are we not developing better institutions and systems which can combat this? We do some efforts but it appears as if we've largely accepted this observatory role in the world because "they" are so influential and powerful, any attempt to mold society has become futile. Even if such efforts to enact change take centuries, it takes the work which starts today.

    • @cyclonemt
      @cyclonemt Před 3 lety +12

      True Jamal Bradley. The thing is that the Muslim world is behind because we've fallen for the dunya, like the western world itself. It doesn't matter who's superior in dunya. We Muslims have to get back to practicing Islam. It starts with the self, then the influence naturally carries outward to family, neighbors, community, and the world. But you have many Muslims trying to change the world before they change themselves, and that won't work. We have to help ourselves then start calling others and being mentors. This can best be done starting properly under the guidance and leadership of a proper shaykh of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamah who will teach tazkiyah and teach one to implement the teachings and pass on the help. Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh hafidhahullah is one such shaykh who is definitely doing this better than anyone right now, as I see, through Tareeqah Muhammadiyah, Prophetic Path, U.K. academy of Islamic sciences, Wiselife Academy, and Dabbagh Welfare Trust. The success is in passing on not just the Islamic sciences, but how to truly implement it and help others do the same, at the same time helping others in their dunya through charity, marriage help, help with emotions, trauma, and addictions, etc., and inviting eachother to our true purpose in life.

      I agree. We need Muslims who are great in Quranic Arabic Science of hadith and great in medicine, literature, robotics, agriculture, halal financing, etc. We need an Islamic renaissance. Muslims dont know their Deen, so how will Allah allow to conquer the dunya. It's a calamity. Right now you got Muslim voting and seeking help from either trump or biden, rather then being on the Deen seeking istigfar and making dua. We as a ummah have missed the mark.

    The love of materialistic duniya is a major factor in our degradation. Our communities are plagued with crime and drugs. Lack of love for learning, religious or otherwise, has resulted in many of our youth turning to quick rich strategies which are mostly illegal/haram. Our predecessors who conquered the hearts of humanity did things to please the Creator. As a result the Creator gave them success. Today we mostly do things to please our nafs/ego. There is an urgent need to educate our communities to purify our intentions if things are to improve. Start with something as basic as keeping our streets clean of litter. ''Cleanliness is half of faith."

    To ponder nothingness and eternity. I never looked at it that way.
    I accepted Islam four years ago and my life has become so much more meaningful.
    My soon to be 16 year old daughter however refuses to believe in Allah. And she suffers from depression, and I believe that is the reason why; because she is pushed to live a life of meaninglessness by the society surrounding her that she so desperately wants to fit into.
    This video has made it clear to me. We all sometimes need someone who helps us put something into words that we are in the midst of and can't quite figure out or articulate ourselves.
    May Allah bless you with the best of this life and the hereafter Shaykh Hamza Yusuf.

      @Yung Redpill its not about gaming itself.Its nihilism in general,since young people arent getting enough knowledge on religion and spirituality,they live a live thinking that there is nothing after death and their life is meaningless,which leads them to pursue pleasures of this life and joys,often which lead them to depression since they use too much dopamine in doing meaningless things,there's no life left in them. The more u stay away from short term pleasures/dopamine boosters,the happier u will be in general especially if u re working towards something and have a purpose in ur life.Im not saying its bad to play a game occasionally but that has to be after u ve done ur duties and works,play just to relax.Most people play all day and dont study and do nothing.This is the problem. Gaming should be used as distraction not as a meaning to live.
