I raised 10 at a time and that’s a chore within itself I had an 8 to 10 hour job on top of that but there’s no greater joy to watch them grow and not lose one I’m glad I quit and started buying Young yearlings keep it up 👍
Thank you for sharing this video with us, it was so funny watching the calves get out and run lol I like what a good job you're doing with the babies. I really enjoyed this video, thank you
Those dear calves certainly enjoyed being exposed to new sights, sensations, textures (gravel, grass, concrete, et cetera) and a large area in which to move. It was one large cattle amusement park! Fun for all young bovines! Additionally, I’m relieved the one’s health has improved. The more the merrier!
Always great videos! I'm not a farmer but our daughter is double major in bio n environmental sciences in her freshman year at college in Pa. I send her your videos to enjoy.
Thank you for being so kind and easy with the calves. I have seen them being dragged by one leg from the barn and then tossed in the trailer like trash. It is easy to see you treat them well, they are not afraid of you.
Yeah all those sweet baby caves! Do more videos on Wednesday.... how’s the barn cleaning going....? Please do a barn tour soon of the old ban..what are your plans for all these baby cows? To be fatten up then sold in market? Love seeing happy calves running around! They want you to play with them
The one little section of the barn is cleaned out but the rest isn’t done yet. I’ll try to have a tour done in the next couple weeks! These calves will stay on our farm for the next year and then taken to the sale barn. I may keep the heifers as cows but I haven’t decided for sure on them yet. Thanks for watching!
Three days please Sunday,Wednesday & Friday if not possible Sunday/Wednesday works for me. I’m one of the quarantined and I really want to thank you for distracting me in such an interesting way, I love your content even before the quarantine! Stay safe and stay awesome 😎
Farm & Hammer / I’m so thankful for everything you do, if I want more I always just watch some of your earlier work! I mostly meant it as a compliment and how I’d watch even a third upload if it were possible. Thank you for all you do!
I'm glad to hear you're going to put up more posts and any day that works for you is OK with me. I watch every night. You also did a great job of saving the big cafe. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.
what a wonderful video glad the calf survived the bloat .I sure love them all .Now you got lots of work to keep you busy.Like the idea of posting twice a week, can't wait to see the videos.Take care Hugs.
You are so kind to your animals! It’s a joy to watch after some of the horrible videos I’ve seen of men just abusing the baby calves. They trust you and you can tell they are treated well. You’re a good man and I love your channel.
There are some terrible videos of calf handlers out there. And I do my best to keep them comfortable and the least stressed I can. Treat your calves correctly and they will treat you right (as in growth and temperament).
Build hatches for each one and you can also put in bottle feeders to hold the bottles instead of feeding them individually. Will save you a lot of time especially since you do this all the time.
Great job with the bottle calves. Amazed you don’t have more illness. We raised a lot bottle of bottle calves years ago till the bottom fell out. Hang in there.
Just had 2 heifer calves with bloat. Mineral oil and esophageal tube helped. I just had my first calf die on me do to scours. I'm curious, what do you do with your calves that die? I know it's kind of a morbid question but it's a fact in farming. Have to deal with the good and the bad...oh and any day is good bc I usually binge watch after a few weeks anyways. Love the channel. I hope someday my sons will take over the farm and work just as hard as you do. Not often in todays society you see a young man like yourself so passionate and hardworking. Keep up the good work, even as a 39 year dad, you inspire me. You are the reason why I started bottle calves. Thanks for the information and entertainment. Btw thanks for recommending drexin, its worth its weight in gold. I have since told a few of the older farmers about it.
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoy watching the videos! Even though you hope to never have a dead calf, it occasionally happens. First off, check your local regulations on dead animals. Our regulations require it to be buried or hauled off by the dead animal truck. If the calf has had antibiotics in the last 30 days I will bury it. If it was a healthy calf that just up and died, as terrible as it may sound, parts of the calf make good dog food if you have a dog. What I don’t save for the dog, is then buried. Hope that helped and good luck with your calves!
i like ur bottle calves pretty nice looking and i agree u should feed grain to bottle calves and if u would buy open heifers and a bull u should nt have to much money in them
Hello all the way from Yahualica de González Gallo Jalisco, Mexico You’d have a nice bottle calves! I’d enjoy watching your vids. I’m starting a bottle heifer
Out of curiosity why are the calves kept by themselves in small pens, I’m a farmer in Ireland and we’d always have them in groups in larger pens?? Edit: I know you have pens that have groups of calves in them but why do you have a separate shed with calves held singularly
I'm planning to raise bottle calves but I'm worried a little bit,I'm worried because there is a chance I can't make it but I'm reading many books and watching CZcams every day and night!!!
You won’t get rich doing it but you can make a little profit if you do it right! It’s best to start small and expand once you get the hang of it. Lots of help on here and many other places on the internet. Best of luck!!!
We have a bottle calf who was given to us after it was weaned, at about 12 weeks old. We have a bag of milk replacer. The calf has been weaned for 3 or 4 weeks and is much smaller than other calves its age. We’d like to use our bag of milk replacer to supplement the calf’s 100% grass diet and hope to see it grow some. How much milk replacer would you suggest feeding the calf at 12 weeks old and having been weaned for about 3 or 4 weeks. Would adding some grain to his diet, possibly along with dry milk replacer, be a good way to get some weigh gain on him? Thank you.
One bucket of milk does not seem like very much for all the babies. I am not a farmer and do not know. I only can go off of what I think. Please educate me on feeding the babies. Thanks!
So if a calf is drinking milk from its mother it will get 3-4 feedings per day. Each feeding he will get about 1 quart of milk. On bottle calves they get fed 2 times a day and each feeding is 2 quarts of milk. So each calf gets 1 gallon of milk per day. Hope that answered your questions!
Instead of 2 times a week, why not everyday???? Maybe to much!!! Your videos are worth the time to watch. Thanks for sharing!!! Peace from SW Florida 😇!!!
I know this sounds crazy? But train your cows to a musical instrument they will come to you miles away we play classical on a loud speaker when we bring them in to preg check and blab its funny they love music. Lol. Try it in a open field and be patient. Funniest thing ever like your videos commend your ethics and conservative work inverment. You don't need fancy to live peacefully. Our hats off too you kiddo

I really admire your hard work,,,, anyone who handles baby calves is very intense hard work.....you have alot of love i respect you for that
Those dear calves certainly enjoyed being exposed to new sights, sensations, textures (gravel, grass, concrete, et cetera) and a large area in which to move. It was one large cattle amusement park! I love seeing your calves run it’s so cute and funny I loved how the very first one you let out.
I’m taking your advice about weaning the calves at 2 mouths thank you so much for your help I love you videos
We (Pawpaw and Mawmaw) love watching you... We are sooooooo proud of you, you are a great kid.. From Semmes Alabama
Love watching ur videos all the time dx Such a nice guy and love u work with cows :)
Love your videos bud! I’m starting a calving operation soon on 10 acres, you’re a big help
How about you add when you have free time. As your time is just as important as ours, you do it when it is good for you.
Always great videos! I'm not a farmer but our daughter is double major in bio n environmental sciences in her freshman year at college in Pa. I send her your videos to enjoy.
Wednesday would be great! Great videos Isaac.
Tuesday. But I would be glad for any day or every day. I’ll happily watch them all.
Thank you for being so kind and easy with the calves. I have seen them being dragged by one leg from the barn and then tossed in the trailer like trash. It is easy to see you treat them well, they are not afraid of you.
Cute, wagging their little tails while they drink

Nice video! Best way to round up lose calves I've found is get a pail of milk or grain and they'll follow you right into the pen.
Three days please Sunday,Wednesday & Friday if not possible Sunday/Wednesday works for me. I’m one of the quarantined and I really want to thank you for distracting me in such an interesting way, I love your content even before the quarantine! Stay safe and stay awesome 😎
