Had more guts, brains, courage, determination and patriotism than all of the millennial generation combined. He was the last of his breed. The greatest generation is almost gone. Speak with them and thank them whenever you see them. Young Americans do not know the price of true sacrifice because of this generation. RIP R.A. Bob Hoover at that great aircraft hanger in the sky. He now has angels wings, blueskies, and a brisk tailwind.
Bob.. is a pilots, pilot! I wish so many of you young kids could have seen his style! The man meant what he said. BALLS OF GOLD!
Such a great interview, Bob spent as much time praising other people as he did telling his own stories. He's clearly not only a top notch aviator but also a great human being.
Jesus! Bob Hoover! This man is a god! I'm a trained pilot and survivor! I met this man in 1993... Reno air races..kids. before you scream fake. Think of your father and grandfather for a second. In 1993 he promised an old man a ride in his airplane. If that man reached 95+ years of age.. that man returned. And got his flight!
Great history time with one of the great...
Robert, your an amazing man.
woww some amazing incredible stories and Life flying during WWII he mustv gone thru... omg... still seems sounds like nice nice but tuff tough guy... amazing his mind memory such great physical shape after all that tough test flying and plane vibration crashes even he made it out alive... just talk bout Chuck Yeager... knew him worked w him too.. amazing.
Need more guys like him today in USA.
"....the best pilot, I never thought I was" You know you are listening to one of the best when they say they don't consider themselves to be the best.
unapro3 exactly, a very humble guy and the greatest stick and rudder man ever!
He should have been in the record book for breaking the sound barrier, but Chucky selfishly risked the mission to grab the glory himself. Bob was the backup pilot, Chucky had broken ribs from a horse riding accident and was not fit to fly, but he kept it to himself because he knew he would be grounded.
This is my all time hero ever! (with out a doubt)….. And of course Jimmy Doolittle...
Airboyd. I don't know you. But bob is and was and always will be. That special someone to me. If it were not for Reno. I would have lost the most precious amounts kind piloted souls..:-)
Bob Hoover had the right stuff as-well.
excellent.
Unfortunately the best pilot to have ever lived. Could have been a comedian without a doubt. LoL

The video quality is awful but the audio is worth listening to anyway.
