The best video I’ve ever seen relating this topic. Here is my opinion of the difficulty chart obby - it started as a fun project to do that transformed the obbying community and the popularity of obbying to an excessive amount of these low quality obbies that gets to repetitive, unfun and uninterested in causing the downfall
Occasionally there’s one DCO that looked like it was made by someone who knew what good gameplay was but those types of obbies were far and few.
ngl this highlights how jtoh literally deserves more for starting an entire trend yet getting unnoticed

SDCO was legit my gateway to the advanced obbying community. I was bored one day and decided to try SDCO out to see how far I can go (after Flamingo made a vid on it) and I was making more progress than I expected to so I continued playing it. I then decided to try and transfer this skill into other advanced obbies and started to get into general advanced obbying more. Without Flamingo’s video on it I wouldn’t be here.

Discussing difficulty chart obbies is kind of nostalgic to me from 2020 because I used to make a really bad difficulty chart obby in 2020 without even knowing what KToH was. Now, playing JToH a day is something that should have done every day for me. Man I am such a jtard.
I also credited the creator of Mega Fun Obby (I forgot his name) and PyxlDev. No Obren mentioned.
i remember The Impossible Obby during 2019. It was popular and it had 30 active people during that time when i played it, the furthest i got then was on difficult beginning, its pretty hard but now its easier
im suprised you didnt mention the largest ever list: Jukes Joke Towers Chart. in November 2023, about 2000 DIFFICULTIES. now obviously this isnt real, this is imaginary, but has still MAJORLY influenced difficulty charts.
im getting so many memories of difficulty chart obbies back when they used to be good and its honestly just kinda sad how the trend died down and how dcos just arent fun any more, nowadays they're just way too generic to be anything special...
good thing a load of the old and fun ones are still up. one i cna recommend is Zal's difficulty chart obby, it's difficulties are actually relatively accurate, and it's well built and quite difficult
